#gaming #gamereviews #frostpunk2 #frostpunkgameplay - Hry
Not a big fan of city builders but Frostpunk was the exception for me. It was the story that dragged me in, a structured narrative with a definitive end.
Does frostpunk 2 continue the story or is it a new story?
@@viking9442it's a continued from Frostpunk 1 either the Winterhome or the New London
The developers understand the weight of tension in a storytelling. This makes Frostpunk absolutely great.
I hope they get the same composer that did the first soundtrack, it was absolutely incredible.
Yes, Piotr Musial (a man, who wrote FP1 OST) wrote the main menu music and I hope he wrote everything else. He's just way too good
This
Slay the spire 2
Hades 2
And Manor lords are the games that will hopefully reignite my passion for gaming
wait what? Slay the spire 2? What a time to be alive
@@mac19999x we got slay the spire 2 before gta6
11 bit is also making The Alters, which definately looks interesting. I hope it's gonna be as good as Frostpunk
It looks very interesting, but very different than the Frostpunk series. So "good" would partly be defined on if you like those differences or not.
Looks like a significant evolution of This War of Mine
I love frostpunk so much, it's the only city builder I can tolerate personally. The vibe can get very stressful in the first one very fast and I can't wait for it to get more complicated in the second.
Frostpunk was one of my favorite games of all time. I really hope they can do good with this one. The complaints I've seen so far are that this game feels less intimate, with the larger scale and all, and you don't feel as close to the workers.
Would love to see a review after 100% of Frostpunk!
Similar to how Darkest Dungeon 2 felt in comparison to the first game...
It wasn't that intimate even in the first one, most people still didn't care about "units" you have, but I think now they will outright hate them because they will form factions and probably will be irritating. The game has a chance to turn into a Tropico game :P
Flavor wise you still get a lot of events and you can click on each of the 100 members of the council and see their background and profession so its not like there's no intimacy.
i think being a people pleaser in a game like frostpunk is a conundrum in of itself. lol
If this is a problem for you, then build smaller. avoid going large scale when you can, so you can provide resources to everyone.
I like the first one a lot too. Definitely the dark souls of city management games.
The first one got me back into city builders. I've been patiently waiting for this one for what seems like forever.
The box art gives me serious C&C vibes.
The box art is where the similarities end.
@@Notsram77 Of course, which makes it the differences kind of stark.
In before hell march starts playing on the first campaign mission.
If you want that, you need to look at Tempest Rising. It even has logo display like the C&C settings menu animation.
Cungeons and Cragons?
Loved the first game. I was obsessed with getting a perfect run. Im looking forward to playing this one.
For those on the fence, play the first one see if you like it. First time a city is the main character of a game.
With the weather being the enemy. It even has a final boss form.
Idk man, I loved the first one, but it was mostly about survival and social part wasn't that big. Here it looks like the focus shifted to social needs and survival is gonna be secondary. Well, need to see the release version first anyway.
@@kirillhaetsky3049 you're right it seems a threat is more from within, but the trailer hints at oil so maybe fighting other towns for it?
It looks like they thought they could reinvent the wheel and at first look, it looks terrible.
@@kirillhaetsky3049 I mean why should they make the same game again? Makes sense to go in a different direction.
Thank you for the preview. Been interested in this since I heard of it.
I will check out these frostpunk videos once I play it on launch. Loved the original and stoked to see how adding oil into the narrative evolves things
Frostpunk thematic and imersion is a work of art! Thanks for the video.
I really like this channel. He always gives the best reviews.
I got 310 hours on Frostpunk and still going. The game is a masterpiece. I'm curious about the second.
I loved the first and it was really hard, I had to do several attempts to manage to survive the big storm.. I think this will be brutal!
I enjoy the first game but it always felt like there was a lot of missing pieces. This is one of the few games I’m super excited about.
Disappointment. do not get your hopes ups.
thank you for posting this. this gives me confidence for the release. i wasnt sure of the aesthetic but gameplay seems to live up.
Definitely upped the game here from micro management to macro management, instead of individual buildings it now gives you community buildings.
The first game hit such a button for me, I can't wait for this second game. Definitely the same kind of "huh, where'd the last 6 hours go" vibe as Civ 5
Thanks for the review, now I'm even more hyped.
Another great video, as usual. Keep it rocking MG 🤘
I am extremely curious about it, can't wait to get my hands on it tbh, the first game is excellent.
Really enjoyed the first one. Sounds like another winner.
Currently one of my most anticipated games. Enjoyed the first quite a lot ^^
Lone to see stuff like this
Comment for the algorithm gods.
It actually looks kind of interesting.
Ahhhh can’t wait for frostpunk 2 babyyy
First one was my fave game for a long time, super hyped for this thanks for the video ive been really looking forward to thr previews
Can't wait to play it during next harsh winter ;)
I know my two friends will play a lot of this game. Thank you for video and hard work.
Looking forward to checking it out. Really enjoyed the first game. I like how they expanded the community aspect.
Frostpunk is my favorite citybuilder, it was just amazing. Here's hoping the sequel is as good or even better than the original
So, it's less about city planning and more about politics. I am not sure this is what I am looking for in these titles.
This is my experience too, thinking about getting a refund, its too much like civilization with pleasing everyone playing politics more than city management.
First one was very fun but for me personally also very hard. I needed a lot of tries until I was able to balance things enough to survive
This looks and sounds so great. I think I'll play the first before getting this, though.
I really enjoyed the first Frostpunk, so I'm hoping this one turns out well.
Frostpunk always sounded so stressful to me but man is it pretty
Comment to feed the algorithm!
It looked really interesting, even though I haven't dabbled in this genre yet.
Any community suggestions for similar titles for a beginner city builder+survival player? 😁
I really hope they implement UI & font size settings.
Its definitely not for me (i bounced utterly off the first one), but here's a comment to feed the algorithm and your momentum!
1st one was amazing
I'm doing my part
Same. Most people only like the 1st one for its edgy dilemmas. Over all pretty underwhelming.
@@blem5376agreed, takes a while to get into but once you’re familiar with the systems…. Such an addicting game
@@brednbudr2406 I think most people like the first one for its unforgiving and unique
Weirdly the game comes across as completely different to the first one, yet at the same time, totally reminisant and familiar. My main concern is how the balance of the city politics will work out, and if you can convert the populace to having different views which fit you city vision and playstyle... That said, really looking forward to being able to get my hands on this when the time comes. Just wish we knew when the console version was coming out as not seen any more information on that.
I was hoping it would be closer to FP1 than a different game
This surprised me. I loved the original Frostpunk, but wasn't really looking forward to Frostpunk 2 expecting it to be more of the same. This however looks like it's an evolution of the original concept. NOW I'm looking forward to it.
Cannot wait Morty
Finally time to install FP1 and enjoy.
Thanks for the video. The people management side gives me Crusader Kings vibes. It can be good it's rewarding, but too much, and it seems to become tedious. Onward to 400k. All glory to the algorithm.
I'm looking forward to the music. After "The City Must Survive" from the first, can they top it?
The entire soundtrack is excellent imo. FP2 will not disappoint either
The atmosphere and the tough choices I got to make in the first game were great for me. I have high hopes for the sequel, but we'll see I guess.
First was great, but had some flaws in regard to being able to read the situation on the screen. Hope they address that
I'm looking forward to Frostpunk 2, really glad to see you talking about it positively. I liked Frostpunk a lot, even though I'm not very good at it, lol, but it's still fun to play. Hopefully you'll also do a review for the full release?
Hard to say, bit outside of my usualy wheelhouse
Thanks!
and thank you!
Wow looks like they took the part I felt was weakest in the last game, and really made it the focus here, sounds great I am greatly looking forward to it, thanks for the video.
This new frostpunk is genuinelly confusing compared to the last one. Not too sure how to feel about it from what's been shown so far but I think I much preffered the simplicity of the original.
I'd love to see you do a proper review of the first game one day Mort. It's absolutely exceptional and I loved it as a completionist myself. It is quite challenging though!
Been hearing a lot about this one lately. I think I'll have to check out the first one and see if I like to play it as much as watching someone else play it lol
I just played the first one late last year and I’m really looking forward to playing the second one. I thought the first one was a great game.
veeeeeeery different gameplay from previous frostpunk, They want us to feal that the cities are much larger them before. But for me the strugle is much less
Heave lads, ho lads! Forget the comfort of home you are a nomad.
Man I loved the first frostpunk
Let's hope they add a darker ui like fp1 , most gamers prefer a darker ui
The original made me fall in love with the genre.
I'll throw rent at it if necessary. 🤣
Hey Mortismal, did you play the game The Council? There is a character called Mortimer, every time I see the name of the channel with castle background it reminds me of the game.
Loved the first frost punk! How did you like it?
I like the political aspects, that is exactly the stuff I'm missing in games like Cities Skylines
This game will be day one on gamepass.
That's good, I liked the first one well enough but not enough to pay $40 for the sequel
the real question is can i make the robot our supreme overlords? and reject all human labor
Gronk!
Can you change font size in UI settings? Frostpunk 1 had the same small font and you couldn't change it.
Not that I saw in this preview at least
is it a set map or is it randomly generated for every playthrough?
Lord Mortisimal, have you already finished No Rest For The Wicked?
No, I won't play it till it launches
love the politics though, how you have alot of options to interact with the factions and push an issue. you also have quite choices in what sort of society you construct
❤
I loved the first one
Oh I see, a German strike simulator.
😂
i think there should be a demo rn
I haven't gotten around to playing the first one yet.
👌
free comment, babyyyy!
Ironically, Frostpunk was one of the games that made me want to buy a PC... there is very little hand holding & I was put off quite quickly. I moved on to turn based stuff like X Com & Gears Tactics (which came out shortly after I got my PC) and I was turn based crazy. Then those stealth type games (RIP Mimimi) - bascially anything that was much more suited to PC than console... Wastelands 3 became my favourite favourite game of all time very quickly (& still is... really dreaming of a pt 4)... I really should go back to Frostpunk... any idea on good tutorial vids?
Is the music done by Piotr Musiał again?
Anything on the new Steam fest you find ineresting?
Nothing besides the big names really
@@MortismalGaming thats too bad
Wonder how discovery of oil will affect the game mechanics
can we pop down single buildings? i have a feeling that an "only district" building mechanic is kinda bad
Yes, some buildings are allowed outside of districts such as the air control tower but some other buildings can only be build inside of districts that have a certain size
First one was fun enough for one playthrough, keeping this on the list only for a big sale someday
don't love the fact that most buildings can't be constructed outside of districts. like depot, what if resources run out and i need to deconstruct the district. or research why need to build resident districts if i have enough shelter ?
Im really looking forward to this one the original game was great.
Frostpunk was a miracle actually. I remember I start playing at 9PM and then next thing I noticed is that my wife enters the room saying: "Are you nuts - it is 7AM". Incredible game!
Look great, but I'm not sure how I feel about the new UI.
how was the performance and optimisation?
seemed fine, but hard to say without more user experiences to pull from
I liked the first one but couldn’t really get into It idk I love city builders like city skylines cause they’re relaxing
Polish games FTW! 🇵🇱
👍🏾👍🏾💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💪🏾💪🏾
I thoroughly enjoyed the original. Im hopeful for this one though ut looks to be a different twist with the political part stepping to the front. I enjoyed just surviving in the original. Fingers crossed but im going to get it one way or another.
This game scares me 😨
Maybe I´m a little naïve but I don't think it's very realistic that due to protest a group of people will shut down the live support system for an entire city, dooming themselves in the process.
While the theme of the game is certainly frostpunk, the game is nothing like the original. I had refunded, and am pretty bummed. I expected to find more of the first game in this one.
Are the dilemmas voiced or is it all just text?
Just text, I don't know what their plans are, but I'd guess just partial at most.
Im gonna do a ton of protests, and when my faction gets enough money, I'm gonna steal it and buy a mansion somewhere else with that money.
Watch ddr Jake’s frost punk series. The children yearn for the mines
