Just when we started to get a few solid days of momentum going after last week's series of rough workouts, fire season officially rolls in to Oregon. We've been pretty lucky so far, but trying to train while the air is "very unhealthy" according to the air quality index, is challenging to say the least. We got in an open water swim before things got really bad, but were mostly stuck indoors this week until a late breaking mountain bike ride on Thursday. Hopefully we'll be back with more outside action next week!

Hey Early, thanks so much man 🙏 Believe me, we are very, very grateful to be where we are, doing what we do. That was by no means a statement about general life but rather the struggle of needing to make money using your body and having it randomly show up or not. Life is good, our means for income "work" is frustrating right now. But that's part of it, always has been, always will be. The good times wouldn't be meaningful without it.

@@kylebaker8502 yep. That's just life, and I feel like it's important to show the whole picture sometimes so we don't just assume everyone else is doing perfectly and we're the only ones struggling 👌 Overall life is good and the struggle makes the highs what they are.

Great off road footage Eric, drone shots/music/sceanry all first rate! Especially enjoyed the technical part on the rocks and going between the trees with minimal bar clearence-gutsy being clipped in. Gold Medal Flora is so strong on road ride because of her off road prowess. .
Really enjoying the videos! Keep them up, great inspiration from amateur triathletes like myself - getting pumped for a half IM race tomorrow in Scotland. Will remember to embrace the suck when out on the course 🤟
Great video today, good to see you both seemingly coming out of last week's slump. This Triathlon LIfe we choose whether pro's like you two. or just age groupers can be tough, it hurts and we do suffer and at times it sucks really sucks!. But there is always light at the end of the tunnel. You just need to remember where you have been and all you have achieved, and things will come around once more. @@ebhkkc1 you are one of the lucky ones who live in the hill country. For the rest of the 75% of the population in Texas we live in VERY flat lands. Think Dallas and Houston. Unfortunately, I cannot make a 10 hour round trip drive every time I want to ride some hills but thanks for the offer.

Living in Boulder and as the smoke has gotten worse I picked up a few Rabbit Air MinusA2 air purifiers. They have made a massive difference.

Hi Eric! I have two Osmo Actions and they never fail to record anything. I hear that a lot about those problems with GoPros hence why I went with DJI’s products. Great video!

My ghetto tip for an air purifier, 20x20x1 HVAC filter that is rated for smoke, and a box fan. Use scotch tape to keep the filter on the back of the fan. It's ghetto but it works.
Fire smoke is typical in Bend for July and August. Bend often has the worst AQI of the state. Def unhealthy to exercise in it.

Yeah we haven't really talked about it yet, but the Audi had to go back to Canada since we didn't import it officially pre-covid. So, 250k mile, used 4runner to the rescue lol

It would be great to hear you mentioning why there is poor air quality in your area. Climate change is affecting sports events and training all over the world this year. Tokyo as a huge example.
