- Hey everyone! We're Eric Lagerstrom and Paula Findlay and this is That Triathlon Life!
Last week, in this episode, we've gone back to altitude to train for the first time in years. We drove our van from Oceanside, California to Flagstaff, Arizona to get a month of training in over 7000 feet. Training at altitude is all about following the plan very carefully, staying patient, and not overreaching while your body adapts. We're doing our best with it and trying to have fun at the same time.

Another beautifully shot video update, ad always with on point music edit. Love the bike section at the end. Spotted Paula in the new On Cloud surfers, I bought the very first edition of those around 11 years ago. These are the first ever On shoe without the signature speed board. I have some coming next week, But Dear Paula please ask Mr Bernard when use not so pro's can finally get some cloud boom echo 3 Recently also worn to victory in the Boston marathon by Hellen Obiri. Very much like your videos … you did already in one of them, but I cannot remember in which: can you again explain what „solid“, „steady“, „aerobic“ means in your terms? Maybe in percent of FTP or anaerobic threshold (AT)?
They're a bit like the classic zones. Cruise is aerobic, z1, steady is like z2, solid is pretty much FTP

That first part if flagstaff? It looks like Bend.
It's very Bend-y. If dropped a random spot in the woods it would be hard to know if you were here or in Bend
question 1: bend or flagstaff - which place does have a better outdoor training environment?
question 2: which place is better to walk the dog(s)? :-)
Ahhh I'd say they're very equal in terms of trail and gravel, but Bend has much better road biking. I could never live in Flagstaff and only ride the roads.

Eric. After the way you disregard people who watch your youtube channel I would not purchase anything you endorse. Paula was super nice when I saw you guys in transition at Oceanside but you would not be bothered to even say hi from a distance.
Hahaha. 100% guarantee Eric just didn’t see you “in the distance” as he is usually more gracious and friendly that me during race week. Thanks for watching the CZcams channel though, sorry you feel this way.
Abraham Lincoln would famously write angry letters to those in his life who frustrated him (and then not send them). If Eric was the jerk you make him out to be, would Paula, Nick, and Flynn love him as they do? No. I don't believe he's a jerk.
Mark can I offer some perspective? When I first started in Triathlon around 2006 there was none of this accessibility to the pros. There was some amazing characters Like Macca, Norman etc but the only access was through magazines. This content is pretty amazing mate and if someone snubs you, give them the benefit of the doubt. He might just have been in his own head getting ready for a race. We had this coach once who would lock himself away if he was racing with us 48 hours prior to an IM race. And we were paying him! lol
