Hey Dave could you do a review on the asus g15?
Too expensive probably going for the asus rog G14

There used to be an XPS 27 tho.
2XPS 32, no?
This comment is going places.
Basically,
Engineering sample: Went through QC.
Consumer product: dafaq is QC?
Nah Dell probably looked it up on Google and put a piece of tape under it on the engineering sample 😎
Where is the Quality Check on Dave2D? He gives Dell a good rep and review while he trashes other laptop companies for not putting Ryzen. SMH
All MacBook pro has QC

Can we appreciate you used and compared the retail units vs engineering samples?!
Absolutely, Midoriya-shonen. PRUSS URRTRAAA!
Imma stick with borrowed sharingan
I think the retail unit had a defect they fixed it Linus addressed it in his review
Dave what I love most about your videos is that when the video starts, you start talking about the subject of the video; and when you stop talking about the subject of the video, the video ends. Thanks a million for the great review of hardware I will never be able to afford.
Right? It's really annoying, in a nine minute video, to have a one minute animated music intro, followed by a sponsor segment, and then a two minute intro talking about what the video is going to be about. lol
When Dave says that things get “conversational” you better be afraid
I am pretty sure he meant controversial
@@mehmetbulentfirat3023 he indeed said conversational
@@mehmetbulentfirat3023 You are confidently incorrect haha
Why?
going to buy macbook because its dell cant beat apple
Thanks! Just received my fully loaded XPS 17. No wobble on the track pad. I purchased it primarily based on your reviews. I'm upgrading from another 4K laptop, so I appreciate the 4K clarity. Pretty happy with it so far. Premier smokes and it fits in the same case as my 15.6" laptop.

Watching d2d videos about laptops I can’t buy at 2am sounds about right
I love how straight forward & simple he keeps his videos. Just the necessary information & no nonsense. Keep up the good work dave.😊
This review is so great..I love the way you do reviews. They are short, to the point and honest. Thank you Dave.
Track pad wasn't an issue with me and I would never have really known. Now I hear about this issue, see your video walk over to it and whamo I got the damn rattle. Thanks a bunch
@@jarolrivera640 The reason it is an issue is because the engineering sample did not have the wobble, and the consumer product does. This highlights it is, in fact, a quality control oversight and a legitimate issue, especially considering the price of these machines.
@@lucass8119 Very true my friend. At this price point we should not be having it.
I've been waiting for the 17 review for sooooo long!

As a music producer - thank you so much for checking the latency! It really is important. I hope you will continue doing it on the next devices too :)

David Lee, Thank you so much for your reviews. I recently brought the XPS 15 laptop and the issue I faced is my touchpad. Luckily dell is replacing the whole unit for me but I wouldn't have noticed it if I didn't watch your video.
Been looking forward to this!

YES Music production comments, THANK YOU DAVE ! You're the only one thinking about us it seems
We need more of this from more reviewers.
Yes this! Great work. Keep it up. Much appreciated
I am considering this for music production. It ticks pretty much all the boxes for the rest (quality screen, gaming, sleek design) except the trackpad issue...
Which cpu you gonna take? 10875 vs 10750 vs i9
+1 producer here. It's too bad the speakers don't quite live up to a MacBook but everything else is better so... Going to give it a shot. I wonder if the "buzz" through the keyboard is intended to be bass transducer 🤔
FINALLY the existence of music producers has been acknowledged
Did you say something?
This laptop has dpc lantency problems ?
Really surprised to see dave jammin out on ableton lol..

Good quality, honest straight reviews. Thanks for your work, Dave!
Thank you so much for talking about music production. Everyone always forgets about it even though it's really intensive for your pc
Today I got a Lenovo X1 Extreme Gen 2 with i7/16/512.
I upgraded it with a second 2 TB SSD + 32 GB of RAM. Runs Ableton Live and Studio One like a champ.
I also got a MacBook Pro 16 with Logic Pro X 10.5.
You know what? The X1 Extreme runs much cooler.
So maybe the Dell XPS 15 and 17 will perform well with popular DAWs
@@leaningtower73 How do you experience the differences between your windows and mac in using Ableton? What kind of projects do you make?
@@MattFlanc I make trance, house and some hip hop projects.
Ableton runs a bit smoother on the Mac, but the X1 Extreme runs a lot cooler even on big projects
@@leaningtower73 Alright thanks! And what about compatibility and stability? Did you encounter any like issues or reasons that would make you choose one over the other
@@MattFlanc compatibility wise both are excellent. Stability wise Macs are more rock solid, cause MacOS is Unix based

Enjoying your reviews all the time. Thank you so much Dave!! (My very first comment to cheer you up :))
You order me what I have to do just to get your video ending sound. It's so soothing that I can't sleep without thinking about hearing it in my mind.
5:38 - I love how Dave just breaks character like that. It just adds that comedic humour to his videos.
On a side note what is he exactly looking at when looking to his left and then upwards? Are there monitors back there that we don't see?
Prob has a camera for table view, considering he was thinking about showing the trqckpads
no he has a monitor and storage under the desk and a table view camera on top he was seeing what the cameras were bae to view
Getting mine freshly produced in 11/2020 - used it a week and now we are here - wobbling :D nice
Been waiting for this review! 😁👍🏽
Thank you for being the only laptop reviewer that checks for DPC Latency. As a music and audio guy, it can be so frustrating scouring the internet for people who have done latency test on these machines and I can't afford to just buy one to test out.

Omg, i was searching for such a video the whole day, & just now got uploaded😍🔥

I have bought the most powerful variant because i thought I'm getting machine for the next 3 years at least, core i9, 32 ram, 4k display, 1050ti, 1tb storage
and here what happened, it was screaming like a crazy all the time, especially it was terrible during the calls via laptop, everyone was complaining about a loud noise coming from my side, so often i had to use my phone for calls and computer for screen sharing
nothing helped, not there Dell Power Manager program nor the undervaulting
i ended up selling it after a 6 painful months, much cheaper than i bought
will NEVER recommend dell xps to anyone
I'm saying all this because their cooling system is has not changed a lot since then

Thanks Dave. Excellent review. We just bought a Dell XPS laptop today.
I think you are one of the most honest youtubers in tech industry right now. The problems you highlight in the new laptops is something most youtubers tend to forget but when you look on the consumer end its not something you can forget.
CZcamsrs need to me more transparent about the review units they get and the shipping model and highlight the improvments in developing stage and thats where you are set apart from the rest of the crowd . Great Job with the video and good luck .
Thanks, Have A Nice Day and Great Years Ahead.
I am obsessed with the XPS 17, have watched every single video on CZcams about it, predicted the launch on Reddit, spoken with Dell countless times about it, and ordered the top model the moment it came out. As an XPS connoisseur who has seen every review about this thing, this video is extremely well done and kudos to you, this is some very nice work sir :)
hey dave, are we gonna get a review on the new hp omen 15 ? i'm really digging the new design
the way you said love it, idk more peppy than usual, made me feel nice
Always love to see you doing laptop reviews. and when XPS or Blade then its a killer.
Dave: 4K on 17" no point.
Also Dave: Not 1440p on 6" phone, wouldn't recommend.
The viewing distance is what makes the difference here. We usually hold phones significantly closer to our eyes than laptops. ;)
@@MischievousMjolnir 1440p is the perfect resolution for everything except tvs, it's a shame these xps devices don't have 1440p option
@@yab3146 Agreed.
I feel like one of the only reasons you'd even be looking at a 17" laptop in 2020 is you do photo/video work where you absolutely want as much resolution as possible simply so you can see more of what you're working on without constantly zooming in and out.
1800p is also pretty good for a 24" monitor, or should I say, 3200x2000, as that's 16:10. UHD (or 3840x2400) is only really useful at or above 27", ideally 32" for a monitor and 55" or above for a TV.
The last XPS 17 had the numpad and I loved it for it.
Hey Dave it'd be lovely to see a budget gaming laptop video.Keep up the good work 🙌🏼
I watched his dell inspiron video 2 weeks before and till now i have watched almost all of his videos, which doesnt even makes sense!
Love you dave! Awesome work😃
At this point, I don't even know why I watch these videos when I can't even affort half of it.
Because in two years time you will be able to afford it on the used market.
You are the man! Thanks for that video! I had prepared the money to get the XPS 17, and on the release day in Japan, the full specs were ridiculously low, so I decided to wait until dell release the US specs XPS 17 in Japan! Right now we don’t have the good video cards, only the GTX 1650, only the 6 core 10750 CPU, cant even choose :) also I wanted to upgrade to 64 GB RAM and 2 TB, but you; can’t do it in Japan...
that's weird, US always gets the good stuff and it's often cheaper than in other countries

I ordered a custom XPS 9500 mid July. No issues with it at all. Dave, you helped me a lot in my purchase decision. I recently moved from a tech rich environment to BFE. To get my hands on anything is a four hour drive one way. I combed through reviews. Many of which really felt like propaganda cheerleading (that one dad guy I'm looking at you). I like your low key presentation, and really accurate communication. You communicated real world expectations exactly on par with what I experienced once the machine arrived. I wish you could have gotten your hands on an HP ENVY, but speaking with other reviewers HP doesn't seem to understand the value in providing review units, at least not with the ENVY (new not the old Envy). Anyway appreciate your work. Hope this helps provide motivation for your continued efforts.
