"Did cavemen do pushups?" - this is the question I'm going to ask every single time in the future when calisthenics bros start with their appeal to nature fallacy
bro it's totally natural to do a zanetti press caveman did it all the time
The muttering explanation of Irish feelings towards the British culture is perfect hahahaha
"its nothing personal, its just 800 years of colonialism"
Is that Capri Sun with a screw on lid? Fuckin technology these days
Looks like those baby food tubes
I’ve only just seen the title and clicked, but if there’s not a significant amount of pisstaking of Liverking here I’ll be gutted
I'm in the same boat here hoping for some decent LiverLord shit talk
As a Scot living in London, I was recently asked: "When are you going to stop supporting whoever happens to be playing England? You live here! We don't cheer against Scotland" I'm really sorry but that's just not the way it works...
To be fair, I don't apologise for having ancestors that are better at fighting than everyone else.
So I suppose your example is the inverse of that.
know how you were talking about the Spartans being one of the early societies who could afford to do physical training. I've got a trivia question - how many slaves do you think they had to every Spartan?
somewhere between ten and fifteen! mad. it was illegal for Spartans to do any productive work and you could lose your citizenship if your wife was caught sewing or making a basket.
they weren't even very good at making war because they thought logistics was slave work. they declared war on the slaves every year, killed a few dozen and chalked it up as a victory. you've got a hundred gyms and backpack and coffee companies named after one of the most evil societies to ever exist.
like ISIS training centre or waffen ss roastery.
And then nobody cared
i enjoy reading about history, buddy
I’m pretty sure they were good at “making war”
@@samvega290 they were pretty good at dominating all the small towns and villages that surrounded them in the peloponnese, they were 4 times the size of the next biggest though so thats not very impressive. they were vey good at going to war with their own slave population. just riding around randomly killing terrorised and underfed peasants.
in terms of battles against comparable armies they lost slightly more than they won. the biggest ones they won were as partners in alliances with the athenians & the persians against the other.
they went to war with athens for decades in the 5th century. each summer theyd march out to the lands surrounding the city and attack peasants hoping to draw the athenians out into a pitched battle. each year athens would ignore them and wait for them to get hungry and go home (which they did, because they thought logistics was slave work).
they never concquered greece, the great battle theyre remembered for was a crushing defeat (because it was a stupid strategy in the first place, & they had to be talked out of trying the same stupid strategy a second time by the athenians), they refused to join macedonia's attack on persia, and were crushed by alexander's macedonia afterwards. their civilisation was over as a relevant force after a couple of hundred years as a regional player
just not very impressive at all.
@@billyyy4130 Spartan society was constructed around maintaining control over the helots, who outnumbered the Spartans 10:1; it was not constructed with the goal conquering all of Greece. The strategy of Athens during the Peloponnesian war was similar to that of Sparta and had been carefully crafted for literally decades prior to the onset of the conflict. Even so, Athens was feckless after the death of Pericles. Sparta lost a decisive battle at Leuctra where they were clearly outmaneuvered, but after this, it would have been exceedingly difficult for Sparta to mount a serious campaign through Greece due to its dwindling population, a result of war casualties and the underlying homoerotocism of Spartan society.
Thanks for the additional content. I like these short conversation amid all the lifting and analysis vids you have. This is great.
I love what you guys do!
banger fellas
Good chat fellas
Gotta love seeing 16yo Lads pulling almost 300kg after 1.5years of training and people still believing that they are natties
Ya theres an insane amount of young lads with unofficial records
I pull 315kg after training for half my life and being on gear.
So having a 16 year old do it even on gear and just 18months of training is mind blowing to me.
nah they're just #builtdifferent
A lot of people believe that juveniles don't/can't be influenced to get on gear.

So glad I sat through cryptocurrency ads for this video!
Tremendous Donkey Prank
I think ancient people would not have done very much voluntary training, such as pushups, also because it would create more need for food and rest, but especially food.
an entire podcast talking about rugby. every week. cheers lads
Some times I forget how daft Ireland is as a country 🤣
Also the wrestling is collar and elbow. There is a channel called hero of a thousand holds that is a irish lad bringing back the wrestling
Probably not, but they probably did a lot of clubbell shield casts, but the boys shat on clubbells a couple of videos ago
I ask this as a new fan of rugby. Is it too much to ask for rugby merch of national teams without sponsors? I really want to buy some but I also don't want to be a walking billboard.
The ould boys are right. New diesel vans are shit! 1998 transit for life!!!!!!

As an American, hearing Native Americans being killed as “wholesale murder” is one of the most accurate things I’ve ever heard.
