Gary Neville has spent so much time downplaying his career that people don't take him seriously nowadays. He was a mainstay in SAF's title winning teams where you have to be nothing but elite to be starting for all those years.

Peeps taking the piss with Garry’s Danny Simpson selection, he was absolutely brilliant in that title winning season him and Huth on that right hand side was literally the best and most consistent right side defensive duo in the world in that season especially when you remember all those 1-0 wins toward the end of that season. Who else would you pick besides Trent and himself which are way to obvious picks. Bit strange giving Pep teams a number of years to choose from, I chose the centurion team from 2018 to be the focus. Walker is the Wildcard from Spurs 16-17 season with 86 points in second, I get the point about Modric but at that time he was a decent player but not yet the Modric he would become. Id actually scrap the Wildcard and instead enter the Arsenal 2001-02 team (which some pundits have claimed was better than the Invincibles) in which case it would change the RB to Neville (99) replacing Walker meaning a change at CB to Campbell (02). Just to point out that Ronaldo keeps being picked as LW for 2008, but his main position that season was actually RW/RM like 95% of the time. Hence why Ive got him in there at RW, Henry takes LW simply because he cannot be left out and Arsenals team was so fluid that season he was mostly found on the LH side with Cole and Pires forming a deadly trio.

3 games to go of that season there was only 3GD & 1point separating Chelsea & ManUtd after Chelsea cheated home&away in head-to-heads ManUtd would've already won the title & had better GD than Chelsea had they got what they deserved in those head-to-heads. It stayed 1 point the margin ManUtd won their last 3 games & added a further 7GD to their tally yet Chelsea in last 3 games gained a further 10GD on ManUtd which was fishy, Chelsea had everything on their side numerical advantages, fouls in build-up to goals unpunished, soft pens etc...given emphatic scorelines to help cover up the controversy of the title win. The PL wanted a new winner that year to prevent same champion 4 years in a row as it's branded most exciting unpredictable league in the world, same champion again makes it look boring.
It was also the first year ManUtd could go above Liverpool on total league title's hence Gerrard deliberately backpassing to Drogba on the penultimate game. Given so much help just to stumble over the line. ManUtd break a winning points margin record if given half the help Chelsea got that season.
ManUtd team of that season isn't "talked about enough" either, nor is the following season ManUtd who won PL at a canter and weren't far away from the treble. So why would Chelsea be?

Irwin was clearly better but Cole may have got in by putting Irwin RB but even then P.Neville should technically be ahead of Cashley as well. Double the PL titles & another who's good with both feet...and Evra was better than Cashley.

I'm a ManUtd fan but it means nothing to me when I hear people say "as a winger" to try and make it sound more impressive.
He took pens, free-kicks, was in the box for corners and even when the starting lineup is mapped out with him supposedly on the wing, he always played a free-role he never tracked back he left big spaces for opposition to run into, didn't tackle, everyone else did his dirty work and he didn't put many crosses in like actual wingers do. I used to hate Thierry but he wasn't just individually brilliant he was a team player and would also congratulate the player who assisted a tap-in for him where as Cristiano would 9 times out of 10 run the opposite end of the pitch pointing to himself.
They were both ones for the gamesmanship hence why I've disliked both for large periods but can still gibe credit where it's due.
Cristiano has reached bigger heights as a player and 1of the reasons is Thierry was poor in the air but he was still a better PL player overall because he joined at a more developed age & played for more PL seasons. Cristiano had 1 better season but Thierry had 7/8 high level seasons. Cristiano had 1 very poor one (05/06), one ok one for his age (03/04), one not that good (04/05) 2 very good (06/07 & 08/09 although the latter he was a nuisance with his behaviour) and 1 magnificent (07/08).
Cristiano also had a more patient manager, I don't think Cristiano would've developed his game in other clubs especially Arsenal it was all about team play they were arrogant as a team but even their most gifted players didn't have individual egos. Thierry didn't need Arsenal to turn world class either he was already successful player for France, he became better while at Arsenal than the clubs he played for but that's just natural he joined them at age 22 & played for 8 years he's going to improve but he would've done so in other clubs where as Cristiano I think needed Ferguson&ManUtd otherwise he wouldn't have become a player he became statistically in terms of goals without a team willing to give him the chances he was given practicing on free-kicks for about 3 years before he even became good at them when there was better takers in the team, not having to defend and all sorts like that.

No, that was the season Chelsea were given everything all season because the PL didn't want the same winner 4 years in a row it's branded most unpredictable exciting league in the world, same winner every year doesn't advertise that so they gave Chelsea all the decisions, favorable fixture sceduling etc...but they still only stumbled over the line by 1point and even that was because also Gerrard deliberately backpassed to Drogba on Liverpool's last home game because Liverpool didn't have anything to play for apart from preventing ManUtd overtaking Liverpool on league title's it was the first year that was possible.
And people don't look at the ManUtd team from that year or even the following season that they won at a canter as that great (even though their record was still very good) so for Chelsea to have to cheat against them home&away to only nick it by a point isn't impressive. The Blackburn team at least were competing with a great ManUtd team who also got a couple of dodgy wins vs Blackburn that season so it's more impressive if you've been unlucky in the head-to-heads and still managed to win the title because you've got a lot more work to do vs the rest of the teams & if you'd had the luck in those head-to-heads you could've won it at a canter meaning you were clearly the best team overall, rather than having to win/cheat vs the closest rival home&away just to nick it.
Leicester also took zero pts off 2nd in 15/16 and 1of the games they were unlucky to lose but they still won by 10pts so they were worthy winners plus the little amount they spent it would've been a great achievement for them with a tiny margin but we know how expensive Chel$ea's team was.
Chelsea 09/10 had to win by at least 12pts for me to even begin to justify being worthy of the title that year with the amount on their side but they couldn't even manage 2pt margin. Even that ManUtd 09/10 who at least "on paper" were the weakest they'd been for about 5 years after CR7 & Tevez had just left they still win that season by a record points winning margin if they are given half the help Chelsea got.
And ManUtd had impressive record vs the Top teams that season, the best record despite being cheated home&away vs Chelsea, especially Stamford bridge game ManUtd were by far the better team but ironically it was these head-to-heads that Chelsea didn't deserve anything from that won them the title.
