He was KDB mixed with CR7 and the only reason he isn’t remembered more is because in 1991 he got a bad injury robbed him of his speed and he was only half the player after that and in 1992 the Premier League was created and coverage of soccer exploded around the world most people missed John Barnes at his peak, because Liverpool were also banned from Europe during his peak years.

Totally agree. Still my all-time favorite player. In my humble opinion from 1987 to 1990 Barnes was the best player in the world. Sadly never got to show it on the European stage and wasn't properly trusted by England managers who played to a much more rigid system than Liverpool. Even in 1986 before his move to Liverpool he was the equal of Maradona but was only given 10 minutes on the pitch to show what he could do in the world Cup. Had Barnes started the quarter final against Argentina, or even come on at halftime England would have won the match and possibly the whole tournament.

Like me, you'd be of the right vintage to remember McEnroe's famous refrain: 'You cannot be serious'. Kenny Dalglish is Liverpool's greatest player. What did Pool win with Torres in the side, or Suarez. 1977-1984, four European Cups and countless First Division titles.

@@xav9258 This is all about personal opinions, Dalgish was fantastic BUT Suarez in that last year was unplayable and in that year Dalglish wouldn't come close to the audacity, guile, skill, assists and goals that Suarez created. In respect of Torres, he may not have won anything as this is about your best XI and for me he had it all, pace, guile, power, awareness and finishing. I so wish I could have seen him play in his prime with Suarez in his prime, they would have wiped Dalglish and Rush..... But as i said this is all about opinions.

@@kam7269 Individual talent aside Rush and especially Kenny accomplished so much more for Liverpool compared to Suarez lol. Dalglish inspired Liverpool to 3 European cups and 8 league titles for gods sake. Its ludicrous to not include them in an all time Liverpool XI

I like that starting eleven. Strikers on the bench will be a battle to choose from Hunt, St John, Keegan, Toshack, Aldridge, Owen, Fowler, Torres, Suarez, Mane, Firminho & Origi 🤣
