Your pep talk sounds like mine when I'm trying something new.
"You have the technique. You have the skill. You can do it. Just fucking send it already." 😆
you did not say "subscribe for more" after the gear gab segment why you didn't say that, why would do this to me why
That's so insanely generous of you to just give away the GT! So sad to see it go, that and the rockhopper are my favorite builds you've ever done
I have it, will make a vid on it once I finish it
26" are great. Have had a rockhopper fixie for years and built another rockhopper into a dinglespeed about a year ago inspired by you, of course.

My 1999ish hardtail 26” is now my fatbike.
With an upgrade of hydraulic brakes
(Brakes came off e-bike that fell off car, bike shop percs)
Erik, have you considered a jogging stroller or a Bakfiets style cargo bike? Or a trailer behind a bike you own?
Then Norton could run til hes tired/done and get in the basket/stroller etc while you continue your training? Idk about on trails though...
Friends !
26 WILL NEVER DIE!!!
I’m taking a break in between finishing my 1991 stumpjumper and polishing the gtmx to watch this so I may be a bit bias but 26 will never die
Thanks for the routine info.
Im finally able to get a ride in on the weekdays. Days are getting longer, once school is out and I don't have to pick the kiddo up from school I will be getting a minimum of 5 rides a week. We have a trail work day that I volunteered for this last weekend, 5 hours of hauling clay, digging, shaping and building berms is TOUGH. Then 2 rides over the weekend, my whole body has been wrecked the last 3 days. Hoping to get out for a ride tomorrow.
Keep up the hard work! Its motivational for all of us!
I still have a 2007 26" wheeled GT Chucker (the blue one), which I built up originally in 2012 with a £15 eBay frame and, I hope, that this wheelsize doesn't die.......I use mine as an XC bike as it's wide bars, SRAM 1x11, tubeless, basic RockShox forks and a long seatpost as it reminds me of when I first did MTB on a Kona back in 1993.....I very much doubt this old bike will get thrown about in a skatepark as I'm 60, and I don't want to damage my very ancient crumbling body !!! I'll stick to muddy bridleways in eastern England. The bike looks unique in this part of the world.....Weirdly enough I have anothe Chucker frame stashed away after finding it dumped a few years ago.....One day (before complete dotage), I might build that up as I have all parts that would fit as a 1x9.....Who knows eh ?
Well done about the wall jump.....if you don't succeed, the try try again !!!
Best cycling channel on CZcams.......and I've been watching since you were at the bike shop many moons ago....
Wish they would go in the other direction and bring back 24"
Let's be Strava buddies eyop
Maybe a Spindatt Cook Book from your resourceful "Eric Cooks" ... ??
I still rip 2009 kona stuff special edition medium size that's been heavily modified for trails/xc enduro riding. I'll give in a buy a newer bike this 27.5 when my current bike finally kicks the bucket for good.
As a taller person the P.4 and other 27.5 dirt jumpers make no sense. Companies make MASSIVE 26 dirt jumpers like the XL transition pbj which someone whose 6’6”+ could fit on.
I'm curious if you think trying to do that stuff on a bigger bike is mental, physical... or a bit of both.
I think you keep 26" cause it's much closer to BMX than a 650b. Your accustomed to BMX.
26 won’t die but it’s slow and pointless for most bikes now maybe not a dirt jumper tho.. or for kids bikes other than that I don’t know? use the technology that’s there.
Why don’t you just go back to rim brakes too?
My favorite bike is a super rare Sabot@ge 26.
