Pink everything yeeehawwwww. Love you guys, thank you for going easy on me and my little bicycle. See you soon 💖💖💖
....they weren`t!! Your bike looks awesome,...and it has a handsome brother.
I have to say this was my favourite - 10/10!
@@adyblanchard5438 💖💖💖
I got the same bike. Yours puts it to shame!
bike looks great, don't get trp hy/rd brakes if you do upgrade - they are absolute trash
Don’t know what to make of this. Francis roasting my bike while Jimmy drools over my smooth Welsh accent.
🤣🏴
Damn I didn’t know we were going to be in the same video as real cyclists! We’re definitely looking at the TRP upgrade for Tilly’s bike, thanks guys we’re big fans!!
Just go with normal hydraulic 105 or ultegra 11spd shifters will fit perfect and removes all the hydro/cable swap overs. My local giant shop recommended it to me when I was looking my first tcr some years ago.
@gregkane8635
Absolutely.
You can even go used and they don't break the bank...
Will it have Fenders?😉
Keep in mind that you already have an 11-32 cassette on there. Maximum for a Shimano long cage derailleur is 11-34.
@virtualmartijn
Officially it is.
Technically it's capable of more.
They could even swap to a GRX.
My 812 handles a 2x with 11-46 just fine.
I was hoping to see Trace Velo's gravel bike with a horrific aftermarket suspension fork on it
Francis and Jimmy need to get DC Rainmaker on and talk about electronics. Computers, power meters, watches, etc.
having Rhett and Tilly is like my CZcams worlds colliding
same here, I was expecting to see a rack to haul gear with.
Rhett Shull was an unexpected contender.
Also GamersNexus's Steve is a Mountain Biker. You should reach out to him!
Technically he's done bike reviews too, since he tore into the AMD branded bike
Why is Canyon bad for bike shops? Shops like Mapdec that primarily focus on servicing love Canyons.
Canyon = more affordable bikes = more people riding bikes = more bikes to service = more business to bike shops
P/s I don’t ride a Canyon but I think it’s good for the industry. Bike fitters also make money from people who plan on getting themselves a Canyon since they have to fit first, buy later 😊
Shops like Mapdec service a lot of bikes, and have other high-end brands and expert services that allow them to make money. Most bike shops don't have such affluent or varied clientele and therefore the ability to sell affordable bikes is important to their overheads. If people looking for an affordable bike all buy Canyons, then that's a big chunk out of the bike shop's revenue, which means they'll struggle like a lot are at the moment. Also getting parts to service canyons can be a troublesome endeavour, especially if the customer expects the shop to be able to get the parts needed as quickly as they can get parts from established suppliers.
@@Enidub I hang out at my LBS a lot (probably too much). Firstly, most of their revenue derives from servicing followed by sales of parts, accessories, spares and kits. If anything, their smallest margin is actually by selling bikes.
On another note, what you just described is basically competition in business. 😅 it’s a competitive world
I've been in the industry for 13 years, working in chain brands to independent shops, working in sales and as a mechanic. I grew up hanging around bike shops.
What has been hurting bike shops are people online shopping, especially those shops that make more money repairing bikes. If a customer seeks out the deals for components online and only pays the labour charge, the workshop is losing out on much needed revenue it'll make from selling components. It's not as bad as it used to be with more people taking up cycling, but it has hurt many smaller shops to the point they add a carriage fee to any component not bought in the shop.
The same is true for bike shops that make more or a considerable amount selling bikes and builds, if people buy their bikes online and only require servicing, the shop also loses out on revenue it used to make before the D2C model became so popular.
As long as cycling becomes more popular, bike fitters will always have new clients.
I think Canyon produces good bikes, I actually like them, but Canyon benefit off of the existence of bike shops fixing their bikes while having such a large presence that doesn't benefit the shops in anyway.
You cite competition, which is fair...but this goes beyond just being business minded, and is more in line with the conversation of how do we keep bike shops open; many of them serve as community hubs for people who ride bikes. Canyon allowing bike shops to make money by selling spares, as some big brands do, would be a much lauded move by them. It would mean fixing Canyon bikes faster, so storage in a small workshop can be free to accept more services, which means more money for the shop.
We need a part 2 with Chris Miller, Dylan Johnson, Vegan Cyclist, Jeff from Norcal Cycling, Patrick from Lanterne Rouge, Luke from Trace Velo, etc! Would be great
How about Rides of Japanese. He is hilarious and he builds the lightest most desirable bikes you can imagine fellas.
Let's take a pause to commemorate all those handlebars that have been victim of the Singaporean climate and the *incredibly* sweaty people there.
i love how I follow Francis Rhett and Mary Spender separately but then learn they all know each other haha. All 3 channels such good vibes
on the next one bring Valtteri Bottas, he is a cyclist who does F1 to sponsor his bikes if you haven't heard of him
Cade Media and Rhett Shull is the collab i didn't know i needed.
🫡
“Canyon not good for bike shops” my lbs has never given me any grief whatsoever whenever I bring in my Aeroad
My lbs owner got a nickname with "evil" in it. He used to be a pro mechanic and he is hands down the best when it comes to repairs - but he's the epitome of grumpy. Bring a Canyon to the shop and he will instantly make you regret you started the day.
they're being polite mate
One anecdote doesn't mean anything on the grand scheme of things.
We do sweat a lot! But aluminum handlebars are for sale EVERYWHERE in Singapore!
I give the video 5/10. Came for a roast, but still enjoyed the laughs, and that was the point! Now I want you guys to roast my ride lol.
I love that yall have Rhett on this media!! I subscribe to both of you!! I love watching you two hilarious!
Love you and I miss you two! 🖤
I may be biased 😂 but I think Lou’s poppin’ pink bike takes the prize. 🏆 💖 Great celebrity roast!
You know, you could roast Shimano for failing to release an accurate power meter for two generations now.
Props to Rhett Shull for riding around Atlanta and Nashville. Southern drivers are HORRIBLE with bikes. Bright lights seem somehow to be a half measure. Jimmie's comment about wider cassettes is spot on -- my Litespeed bike, talking about Southern things (they manufacture in Chattanooga, halfway between Atlanta and Nashville), recognizes this with a 11-34 being the default option but that's rare. I think because that part of the South is so hilly.
I am a mechanic in Singapore and I can confirm that yes the cyclist here sweats a lot. Especially when working on a TT or tri bike, the amount of rust on the front end is unbelievable.
i work with a mechanic in australia that used to own a bikeshop in singapore and the corrosion is true he has shown us videos its crazy!!!
love the pink bianchi
Continental GP5000s are killer. Just got a set on a new wheelset last week. Absolutely love them!
Funny! Lou has just got herself a new amazing looking Chapter 2!
20:56 *TraceVelo has entered the chat*
came to say the same thing
Didnt expect to see Rhett! 🔥
Katie K, George & Jess, and Mazza all escaped this round, eh? Love the series, and the tongue in cheek vibes. Here's to many more!
No way..Rhett Shull! That was a surprise..awesome guitar player
I was listening to the video without looking at it and suddenly I hear Rhett Shull as I am a guitarist as well and it was biggest crossover moments I had in CZcams land ❤
My favorite youtuber is Eldred from Veloharmony. His bikes are impecabble, can’t roast steel Colnago and Ti custom frame no matter how hard you try. 😂
growing up on the shore of the baltic sea, now living in walking distance to the mediterranean - I can't confirm the corrosion problem. Any winter in Berlin is harsher on your bike than years of riding along the iberian coast.
How did you not notice the first bike was not full dura-ace it was ultegra levers and brake system????
The cheapest upgrade for Tilly's brakes might be to just get some 105 Hydro levers, the Giant conduct calipers are actually just standard TEKTRO HD-R280's and compatible with Shimano levers (Unofficially of course).
I dont know Rhett Shull and I was AFK from computer when you intro'd him. Looking at his background, the hills he mentioned, and that he was playing guitar made me think he was from the Nashville area (where I am from). Nice.
I live in Kona Hawaii. Everything rusts. You have to look under your bar tape if you have aluminium bars because of corrosion, primarily at the brake clamps.
So pleased to see @RhettShull & Tilly on here! Mary Spender next time?
One way to clean up messy cables is use black heat shrink tubing, really clean things up
love seeing rhett on here!
19:09 jimmy confirmed MTB rider, loves pink bike
These bikes are too good. You have to roast viewers bikes :)
The Winspace deserves to be roasted way harder. That thing was UGLY and the set up was ridiculous.
I just can’t get passed the name Winspace.
I will have to send you a short clip on my iCan Gravelo frame I built up with Campag’ Ekar and Roval C30s.
I labelled it STEVEN’s similar to the German brand and also put a BMC logo on the seat tube to remind me it is a Bicycle Made in China (BMC)!
Also just wondering what everyone’s mate Dave Arthur would submit as his bike of choice ( by the week)
I can confirm the Giant Conduct System is horrible, I switched it out for TRP HyRds!! Much better but compressionless brake housing is horrible to route through the fork.
Ben Joseph on Shimano random number generators -- "This one's a power meter too, but doesn't work."
his cameraman is a snail :))
Top tip for everyone on GP5000's: try Pirelli P Zero Race 4S's, you won't regret it
Waldorf and stettler ... like it very much 😊
You should also roast bike setups from amateur riders / subscribers!
They have in previous editions.
I give this vid a 3.6 out of ten because there was no Emily ; -)
What watches are you and Jimmy wearing in this video?
I'm like Wait What!! seeing Rhett in this vdo lol Now I know I'm not the only guitar nerd who also ride a bike
Need to get some of Patrick Bomaye's bikes on here and his 140mm stems, haha
Love it x
wow, rhett shull!! my guitar e-teacher
What about the GCN guys? 😉
Rhett Shull crossover!!! Rhet is top notch people no matter what you're interested in❤❤❤.
I have a friend whose aluminium handlebars broke from too much sweat in the trainer.
Noooo for the liv langma don’t replace with trp - just change the shifters to shimano 105/ultegra full hydraulic shifters and the bike becomes normal hydro disc brakes and looses all the crap on the handlebars 👍
GP 5000 clinchers with Tubilitos are lighter than tubeless when counting the sealant.
You still need to cut giant seat masts on certain bikes…
Woohoo Rhett!🤘🤘🤘🤘
had no idea Rhett is a cyclist!
Chapter2 is pretty easily available in India, atleast the framesets are
Man those Supacaz bottlecages are so bad, I also broke 2!
8:09 - those ARE SPD pedals
5 years.....omg you need to roast my 17 year old mountain bike :) It is horrible and awesome :)
Roast for first one: has ultegra front derailleur, and rotors...the higher end rotors look way better
I swear this video vanished while I was watching earlier - what did you say, Francis?
Word has it that my bike briefly broke the internet 💖💖💖
I think Ben Joseph's is the best!
Where Mary Spender bike roast?!
Rhetts bike needs Fenders😅
cam is sponsord by bmc
I assume Chris Broad didn't submit his Cervelo
No durianrider? Cowards 😂
"Cowards" 😂😂😂
and now there is a women's race, thanks to lou 😂
What is Tilly's bike called like? Liv Ligma? 😉
3M clear paint protection film
Would love to see Luke from TraceVelo
Double tap (and Yaw) is the reason i use SRAM. Never ever Shimano again.
Was there a single roast in this video? 😂
Depends on if you watched it early enough 😂
Really missing trace velo here
Safe to say its not 2016 anymore.
Why not roast your own previous or current bikes? That'd be fun 😊
Sadly Francis the Willier, its not in the same league as that Bianchi Specilissima.... that bike is amazing to ride.....sorry.... well done @myloutube ha ha
hahaha thank you John, cheque is in the post 🤣💗
I don't like idea that "Canyon are not good for bike shops". I think it's better to focus more on what consumers lose under the direct-to-consumer model, namely expert advice on what to buy and aftermarket care built on a relationship of trust (hopefully anyway).
There are some bike shops that are Authorized Canyon Dealers/shops. I have one down the road from me and it’s a banger of a bike shop/cafe/hangout. They service anything, but only sell Canyon. But from what I’ve seen, they don’t try and push Canyon, more “whatever is best for you”
The problem is going to a bike shop can end up being too expensive for a bike you can buy much cheaper direct-to-consumer.
The expert advice isn't given either, they will always have their own opinions on cycling and bikes which bleeds into their advice when a customer goes in. Don't forget they're running a business, so in some cases you need to be wary of being ripped off.
No no no that Factor bike is perfect, deep section is history, this looks so cool!!
You guys should have done Katie K or Juliette Elliott
That's a SCAM, we have Alu handbar in Singapore! Yes, we sweat alot.
Such a good channel….. you should do a video down under and pop round for a BBQ 👍🇦🇺🦘🐨
Um, I'm a heavy rider who lives in Central Florida. In other words, nobody sweats more than me. I've been riding aluminum handlebars forever (my current bike is a 2015 Scott Solace) and I've never had a problem. Scam to sell carbon bars.
Talking about his stem and seat post, Ed is gonna unfriend you guys…. 😂🍻
🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼
Only barely roasting, i think over 60% is actual praising, maybe 70%.
1st bike : Cameron said it's dura ace... Yeah right. Ultegra shifters! How did you not spot that?
Does say dura ace on the crank, but I know that's not conclusive.
Nah put TRP spyres on the Liv bike TRP hy/rd is crap, much less money, less stupid, work just as well.
The blue/violet leans towards red so a bit of red on the saddle is totally acceptable.
Have a great day!
That huge white Canyon logo is a complete turn off. Any huge logo is a turn off. Fine if they pay me to advertise.
Factor is a prozionist bike company
