- Matty Cranmer rides a BMX and a Dirt Jumper and tries his best togo trick for trick as we call them out for him over our air bag ramp! He starts off with with a simple barspin but eventually builds up to a backflip over the ramp! But the grand finale was when he tried to get redemption on the tail whip and did his best to keep his you know what out of the tire unlike last time!

"Even though it has suspension if feels stiffer", you have it locked out lol.
It definitely needs unlocking
Right but even being locked out it shouldn't feel stiffer than a bmx
@@bryanmiller5692 probably because it's a bigger bike. Rigid MTBs don't feel right
Lol right?! The shock is made for that. Unlock it and reap the benefits
Slopestyle riders seem to lock the suspension out, go over the recommended psi limits, or ither things just to get a stiff enough bike. If you check out Semenuk Johansson or Rheeder bike check, you can see some crazy high PSI. Probably a reason why most slope riders choose hardtails. Even I lock my slopestyle out when I ride. Squish seems useful when riding rough terrain, but not smooth skateparks or nice dirtj umps.
Aluminium frames are actually stiffer and flex way less than chromolly frames so that's why Matty can feel that through riding. Also it's not a good idea to jump with forks fully locked out unless they've been made stiffer by adding more air to them 👍
Watching your videos every day for years, keep up the fun, positive content content guys 👍
You nailed it!
Yep was thinking the same
i was liiterally thiinking to myself unlock the forks! you only lock them out for climbing or riding on the street. with no bumps. its made for this stuff!
@@ParabolicLabs Clearly? Heh, still looks locked. There's barely any compression and when he hops off the bag it doesn't compress at all. All the other jumps look locked as well. The lock out in a fork doesn't make it rigid, there's still some movement on hard enough impacts. Most higher end DJ forks don't even offer a lock out mechanism.
Matty's riding is at a whole new level now. Being able to switch between 3 different bikes like that and send a backflip and land perfectly with each one is insane!
Dont they have a video of them backflipping everything.
It actually feels stiff and sharp because of the aluminum. Very little compliance compared to most steel blends used with bmx frames.
Thanks for great content
Every time he brakes that sound just eats away at my soul
This is killing me to see you keeping the fork locked out..... You need to use a fork pump and set up the front fork sag to Mattys weight.
Thats incorect. On dirt jumper you pump up your fork as hard as posible. It is not used for roots or rocks but for big jumps amd suspension is there for hard landings
That's the way for downhill, but like previously mentioned, completely wrong for a dirt jump specific bike
Either way you will damage the lock out riding it locked out yes you need it firm but not locked out
You just pump them up super stiff but never locked out haha
Anyone else want to see matty take his skills to a 20inch mod trials bike?
What's that?
@@eyeseayew189 google
@@SpilledBeans what's that?
So good to watch Matty's BMX skills transfer directly over to MTB been wanting to see this for ages now he just needs to try dirt jumps would be so sick 🤙
UNLOCK THE FORK!!!!
so it can compress and drive him over the bars? or worse? lol..these tricks are short and sweet. Its not like a continuous run in a dirt park or like downhill riding..
@@thebodybeatdownDiTi DJ forks are super stiff and barley compress at all, but jumping them locked out can blow them up.
@K.M.V S I go back and forth between a BMX and DJ you get used to it pretty quick but jumping a locked out fork can blow it up
Hey Scotty I was just watching a older video after watching this one and it was one that you guys went to the Joe Tiseo skate park and I just wanted to say I would love to see a video with you and the crew riding that park again that would be awesome 🔥. I love your videos keep up the great work and DON'T SLOW DOWN! ❤️
Loving the bmx vs mtb videos! :)
I just want to tell you that I love your channel and you are so inspiring to me.
Grande Matty come sempre✌️
Putting the seat up made a big difference IMO. Makes me want to get one also ! Awesome video
Ya'll need to get BK on an Inspired street trials bike like Ali Clarkson. He would be amazing on a trials bike.
Loving these videos would be incredible to see some mini bmx videos aswell!! 😆
Keep up the great videos.
nice job Matty..and BK..Keep on trying out new bikes and enjoying the 2 wheels of freedom!! yeeahhh!
I really want a video on how that front brake noodle works! Wonderful Channel love the content.
Unlock the forks
Okay 😂 next video with this bike I gotta see Matty whip it like a dirt bike!!
Cool video. As always thanks boys
Good choice on the NS bike BK.. I have an orange NS octane zircus one..
I would like to see Matty on a slopestyle course.
Yes a ti bmx build for Matty would be awesome
you should try some tricks with the suspension on. at first it'll feel like a flat tire, but its not. But once you're used to is its so much more comfier and makes landing tricks feel smoother. the only down side is when doing pumps it obsorbes a lot of momentum. but when hitting big jumps the suspension is a must.
You have unlock that fork and lower that tire pressure! 40-50psi is fine for a DJ
Unless your names Sam pilgrim who runs about 80 lol
@@Mortonbmx facts 😂
Matty’ll be riding Crankworks in no time!
Ty for the video ☺️
Awesome RAD reference by Matty
Next video, get Matty to do that phattest whip he can on the MTB
Brooklyn needs a spacewalk dirt jump frame in his life. He looks good on that dj.
so happy to see bk on a dirt jumper, you two look so happy and right at home. plz get a NS bike same as what i got, Sam Pilgram would approve :)
NS? National Socialist?
That was awesome, I doubt most will back flip the labomba lol
OK, so when is Matty entering his first slopestyle competition?
Actually, aluminum has a much harsher ride feel than steel. It's stiffer and every bump and crack can be felt through it. Steel has a lot more ride compliance and so it's more comfortable to ride.
Matty, get a 26” with 24”wheels! Make it popular again
Once matty gets a dj you should tell Matty to put the dj fork on his bmx
You can't
More dirt jumper vids pleas 😬😬
Good idea
game of bike against random people at the bike parks or out and about would be a funny yet interesting bit to try out i feel like
Get Matty to a 24in Cruiser
If Matty wants to do more race vlogs\highlights, I think it could gain some extra viewers and be well recieved.
Come on Scott lets goo for something fresh clutching at straws of late..
So when you’re picking up a dirt jumper... stick a swing bike on the list! Would be fun to see you learn to ride one.
Matty looks dope on the dj
you gonna break those forks lmao
You shouldn’t have the forks locked out! You donut!
Stop locking the forks 😂. Good job though bro
Question, why not set up the ramp so you can use the container as a roll in. Save matty cranking in every time?
Next step: Game of Bike Matty vs. Nyquist on MTBs
YES
min 01:20 I dont know if he actually calibrated the calpier but you do need to calibrate it. Its not just "it fits its done" Maybe he did actually check them up. They are making noise thats why I guess the calpier/pads/pistons/ are not centered with the disc. This take a lot of force from the brake and creates heat.
If you check the caliper right from the top. Then you press the brake hard disc should saty in the center and pads should both deploy and make force. If you see from the top that the disc moves to the sides when you aplay force then you need to loose it and center the caliper with the correction movement that the adaptor has on the 2 bolts. Then you adjust while keeping pressure on the brake one bolt at the time little by little
@@TestaFranco That was a lot of words to say ‘undo bolts, hold brake, tighten bolts’ ;) You’d hope they know that though with owning a bike shop.
Aluminum frames are faaaar more stiff. When I was doing endurance road events I felt like my aluminum bikes were beating me up compared to my boutique steel frames. when an event is 6+ hours over mountain passes, the fatigue of harshness is a time and body killer compared to the fatigue of the weight of the steel frames. ... and then theres carbon, which is tunable to be stiff where needs to be for power transfer yet flex enough in other areas as to not rattle you to death.
Interesting take.
@@eyeseayew189
You can find it as interesting as you want, but it's correct.
yesss
Wow you was my childhood and I'm wondering if you have recovered from your injury.hope your doing well
You leave the fork firm, but not locked.
Don't know if this is possible, but would like to see the guys build a bmx frame/bike for mtb. we have GT bikes for dirt racing and bmx bikes for dirt jumping. So why not make a mtb with a bmx style frame so you don't have to use a big frame?
Hey Scotty, I have the same dirt jumper but with thousands in upgrades, if you would want to do another dirt jump video I’d be willing to come up there to lend my bike
Ik Cory has been doing his own thing but I think we are all due for a “prolly bout the same height” clip. So maybe next time you guys hangout
Is a dirt jump bike comfortable. Like if I where to just ride around off curbs with
Get him on a full suspension slope bike and watch him struggle 😄
Yes needs a dirt jumper
Bro i have been searching and asking ppl for dayz what are the things at rear and front wheel called those metal pipe like things on the frame.
Bro this locked out fork deal is killing me
Must be feeling aspired by OBB cause he just dropped the same video yesterday lol
What movie was the overrotated flip from?
What is the gear ratio for the bmx Matt?
hello, please write, what material is your implant made of - titanium mesh or bone-cement implant? Our neurosurgeon says that the best option would be an implant made of bone cement
aluminum is stiffer than chrome moly frame wise and carbon frames are stiffer yet. that's why they use all different for racing. cr mo for usually beginners or riders who like more flex or forgiveness. u have to be more precise with the stiffer aluminum frame and even more so with a stiffer yet carbon frame!
Let's see Cory do a no footed can on it
Go to dirt jumps please!
Jump bike, DJ, dirt jump bike. Every time I see or hear “dirt jumper” I think of clothing. (UK guy)
With the 360 u have to dump ur shoulder a lot more on the dj
Aluminum tends to swing more than steel? On the contrary, Matt. The feel of steel is the reason why I prefer steel on my commuters or road bikes.
When u do get a gt dirt jumper get something nice like bk was saying NS or something. Marin San Quinton there's alot of rad dj and slope style bikes out there.
One word of advise is not to lock out the fork. Firstly, it's not comfortable, secondly, especially on a manitou, the internals will spoil easily. Also, aluminium bikes are stiffer than steel, so locking out the fork on a alu bike will feel like crap. You can look at full bikes like commencal or YT (steel) which come stock fully decked out with rockshox pike dj(the best and lightest fork)
I use to own a ns bikes Decade with rockshox pike dj fork, didn't really bother much about the weight but I got it at 10.2kg, so it's definitely up their alley.
bk should get a partymaster
Awesome video, but gotta say it again: pls don't lock the fork. Its a mountain bike and the suspension is meant to be used.
But if it has a lock, there has to be a reason to that as well.
@@eyeseayew189 Yeah, it usually is meant for pedaling uphill to reduce the amount of lost power because of your suspension. But really no fork needs a lock out :)
@@l4zyturtle479 easily and well explained. Thank you.
@@gogofastful Yes technically you`re right. But ask any slopestyle rider/mountain biker and they`ll consider it a mountain bike rather anything else :)
@@l4zyturtle479 I am a slope style rider and mountain biker, and say it's closer to a bmx than it is to my mountain bike, which has gears, bigger wheels, tires that grip on non-groomed surfaces, a seat you can sit on when climbing, and way more suspension. The only thing it used to have in common was wheel size, but that changed over a decade ago.
Matty the beast (M.T.B.)
BK on a new bike?
would this bike be a good size for a 52 inch 11 year old boy
Even slopestyle riders want stiff bikes. They put 165psi on the front forks, 350 on the rear sus, and sometimes lock them out. I think you have your bike set up fine.
Source: Johansson, Semenuk, Rheeder or any slope rider's bike checks.
build a trek ticket with all Spank parts for the best DJ experience
Unlock the fork and up the pressure. Slope bikes are meant to have high psi forks.
unlock the damn forks. dirt jumpers only have at most 30mm of travel. its designed to use with the suspension working. lock out is only for climbing to remove squish for more power.
Matty mountain bike mega ramp!
Please look at an NS suburban frame, right up the BMXers alley! you'd feel right at home with one
I got a suburban and I love it
MTBK🤘
two clicks from lockout max. add air if its too squishy
i wana se the dirt jumper frame with all bmx parts, handle bars and wheels, so on
i like bmx bicycles
The Swedes are the most stylish on DJ unturndowns
Need puppy arms to do a turn down on the dirt jumper
I'm not surprised at all Maddie did it I remember the video y'all did it tells parents house where he flipped his mom's bike
MTBK! MTBK!
Do a top bleed on the brakes and it will help.
Maybe higher center of gravity
My guy either go to a rigid fork or unlock it
