Sisay accidentally became too powerful for my playgroups meta, so I powered it down to a shrines deck. Way less powerful, but also pretty fun. Especially getting sanctum of all into play.
Tutors can be a bit much

Hey guys, love the content and this deck tech. Sisay is my pet deck, and it's the one that makes me instant Archenemy when I pull it out. There are a few nuances that I think you guys may have missed.
First, my initial build for Sisay was _very_ similar to yours. Lots of board wipes, lots of spicy planeswalkers with big, splashy ultimates. What I found is that the deck doesn't really work that way. Sisay's curve is not about mana but about her power. You _absolutely_ want to get her power to 7 (or 8, preferably) as quickly as possible, and I'll explain why in a second. This means you want a substantial number of 1, 2, and 3 cost legendaries that are all multicolored, for example Kinnan, Oath of Ajani, Aminatou, and Dakkon, Shadow Slayer. Other good cards in this vein are Rhys the Redeemed, Oko, and Ashiok. The idea is that as soon as Sisay hits the table, she's able to tutor out the cards that will drive you to a win, every time.
This also means that _Sisay_ , not the planeswalkers, is who you really need to protect. This is why I disagree with taking out Shalai. Shalai is a _3_ for 1, with the mana up to tutor her out. Someone goes to StP your Sisay, in response you tutor out Shalai, now that StP fails, and your opponents have to remove Shalai b4 they can target Sisay. Similarly, lightning greaves helps protect Sisay helping you get to that all-important 6 power.
Why 6 power, you ask? Six power let's you tutor out the deck's MVP and Sisay's lieutenant, Jegantha the Wellspring. That's right, a little $0.75 companion from Ikoria is the real golden pig. This is also why Ral Zarek is actually good in this deck (in my opinion). Tap to tutor. Yep. Tap. Jegantha. to. tutor. the. next. ridiculous. piece. Basically, if Jegantha hits the board and sticks, it's game over.
Going right along with Jegantha (but needing 8 power instead to tutor up) is Chromatic Orrery. Again, tap to tutor. Of course, what this really needs is, say, a way to untap a creature, an artifact, and (why not) a land. Wait? Didn't they just print a card that does this?!? That's right, Teferi, Who Slows the Sunset (or, as I like to call him, Teferi, Who Supercharges Sisay). This is why jegantha sticking is basically game over. Untap, tutor up Teferi, Time Raveler to prevent any shenanigans with your lands. Then tutor up Teferi, Who Slows the Sunset. Ideally, you have the orrery on the table already, but if not, plus teferi, untap jegantha and a land. Tutor up Oath (again if not on the table) of Teferi. Use teferi to untap jegantha and another land. Tutor up Ral Zarek. etc. etc. Add Aminatou for even more activations (at this point, it's like another 8 tutors).
Some good finishers: Vorinclex + Mu Yanling + Kaya the Inexorable for infinite turns, Aminatou + Oath of Teferi + Nicol Bolas, Dragon God for infinite draw, exile, mana, etc.
I actually ended up taking doubling season out of my deck, b/c I could tutor out Vorinclex (and not DS). The rest of the deck is mostly all protection around Sisay. Things like deflecting swat, heroic intervention, and countermagic (Fierce Guardianship, plasm capture, etc.). I also included a bunch of legendaries that can protect sisay, like Hammer of Nazahn (_great_ for blowing out an attempted removal), Shalai, and Avacyn (or her memorial, equally effective in this deck). Another fun include, since Sisay is a human, is Jirina Kudro for the mardu colors and giving her a +2 power boost.
Finally, I'm kinda shocked you guys didn't mention Atraxa. While she doesn't come out every game, if she's in the opening hand, she's an absolute house as she puts Sisay in range of getting jegantha by herself.
_VERY_ fun deck to play, lots of cool combos and interactions. Some of the cards can be pretty pricey, especially the mana base, but totally worth it if you can swing it.
Also, just as a quick aside, when I played the Flux Channeler I found it to be counterproductive to Sisay, since she doesn't cast spells but cheats them onto the battlefield. The random 1 proliferate I'd get for casting a Deadly Rollick just never seemed to really impact the game.
Excuse me, could you post your decklist or link it? I'm new to commander format but I will love to play a planeswalker oriented deck (a mix between Nicol Bolas, Ugin and Liliana) and some cool cards like Vorinclex and Atraxa.
My boss and coworker are playing 'Adrix and Nev' and 'Marchesa' decks and want me to play some games in the future. There is no problem if you don't want to share your decklist, I understand. But thank you anyway for your time! Any extra advice in deckbuilding is totally welcome.
Sisay Superfriends is my main edh deck and I love it very much so!
As far as the tidbit goes, I enjoy the rules and finding interesting interactions to show my playgroup. It's made us all better magic players overall. Iykyk.
When the board state is crazy enough that one card takes 5 minutes to resolve because of rule checks
I built a pretty goofy version of Sisay superfriends that uses Odric, Master Tactician and Vreska the Unseen's ultimate to create the assassin tokens, and make them unblockable

I have a million Planeswalkers laying around, I might try to build something similar to this. I agree, usually Planeswalkers are a waste of a slot in the 99, but this could be fun.
Ral Zarek is a combo piece! The plus helps you untap. Use him and Tezzert the Seeker and Chain veil to win!

I'm a huge fan of Kethis, being able to cast Primeval's Glorious Rebirth multiple times over the course of a game is just silly. I'm a big fan of the Royal Scions also! They loot, and they can boost Sisay with their other plus. Giving her a total of +4 power just from them!o: this allows her to quickly cheat out a Chromatic Orrery, and you can chain it into some absolute ridiculous stuff by finding other planeswalkers who untap it xD
Its likely that all the landfall cards(crucible, ramunap, etc) were for a sub land theme with the original commander golos
Lithoform Engine & Teferi Temporal Archmage is a fun infinite mana combo.
Animatou, oath of teferi and nicol bolas dragon god combo - infinite etb, ltb, mana etc.. is just straight up win the game!

I did this for a deck with about 12 total creatures/PW's, including all 6 versions of Nicol Bolas. It's Bolas' bridge, after all =D.

I built my first commander deck using Golos to tutor out weird niche lands 1 1/2 weeks before Golos got banned. FML. Still looking for a land tutor replacement.
Any consideration for the nicol bolas, dragon God and Jace, cunning castaway combo?
Or Nichol bolas dragon god + aminatou the fate shifter + oath of Teferi. Exiling all opponents permants and hands is fun.
Don't forget that Esika basically says every upkeep go get the next planeswalker in your deck and put it on the battlefield
Prismatic Bridge Superfriends is also super OP...but it does depend on luck a little more. TUtoring an Ugin brings a little more salt than luckily putting him from your deck to the battlefield...so I like Sisay as well...might change my deck to Sisay...

I'm surprised Chromatic Orrery didn't make the list. You added Tezzeret which goes infinite with orrery and Chain Veil and just enables more Sisay activations even in absence of combo. I get that you can't play too many high cmc cards, but this card also fixes mana base if for some reason all the duals and fetches aren't lining up for whatever reason. Just my humble opinion.

Hey Nerds, what would you guys consider for Esika being the commander for this deck instead of Sisay? Esika dodges your own board wipes, being an enchantment and can resolve walkers and board wipes on the same turn
Esika is a different tempo imo with the upkeep free spell. I think she works better as a creature based commander even though she gets you free walkers.
She was our second choice

also, truth and justice is a huge help in sissay. sissay is the only thing you care about putting it on. equip it to her she gets +1/+1 swing with it she gets a +1/+1 counter and another from proliferate so now permanently tutors for 3cmc bigger than before.

I'm thinking that the idea this build is using is more "Hey look, Sisay gives us access to WUBRG and if we ever use her ability to get something into play, bonus!". I mean, they put actual tutors in the 99. Sisay does not need tutors. I can hang with the highest power decks in my play group (like, CEDH Urza, Narset, and Yuriko) without a single tutor other than Sisay. So many toolbox legendaries out there (Shalai is a great example). Teferi, Time raveler, Ashiok, Narset, Tamiyo, etc.
This is not to say that the build above won't work, or won't be a fun deck, it's just a different way of utilizing the available trade space. In a lot of ways, I think their way may be more fun, as my Sisay deck tends to be very "same-y" in terms of playing out very similarly each game. More PW's with more game-ending ultimates and less Sisay-fueling engine will result in a wider variety of gameplay IMO.

Prismatic Bridge is fun, but for superfriends you want them faster than waiting for your turn. Sisay can straight up cheat them into play, cutting mana costs in some cases.
Evolution Sage is a great proliferate card, but I wouldn't call it the best when Inexorable Tide exists. Maybe the best for this strategy because Flux Channeler does essentially the same thing since you won't be playing that many creatures anyway. But in general, I've found that proliferating every time you cast a spell is pretty powerful. And this is Commander, the format of chair tribal, so the fact that it costs 5 mana and can't be tutored for as easily shouldn't matter that much.
We like sage over tide personally.

Should have definitely made the 99 and actually should be considered for the commander. It has color fixing or on the other side you can just cheat your planeswalker into play.
Well maybe not the commander because I was reading it wrong she doesn't make your Planeswalkers tap for Mana that would have been sweet

@@itsjustjaketv6666 the bridge is great, but with sissay you're whole deck is a toolbox at instant speed. the bridge is once per turn(unless you add extra upkeeps or copy cards) and its random. yes, you only pay WUBRG once, but having mana to pay for sissays ability isnt really an issue most of the time. the moment i saw sissay i thought #1 choice for walkers

As a lover of chain veil I've started taking them out of my decks. I had them in tibalt and atraxa super friends. It just seems like a massive investment of time and rarely ever does anything. Personally I've grown to love repeatable proliferation in its place. Still a great card but seems to never survive in my meta.

I soooooo disagree with you on nature's lore being better than cultivate. SO disagree. One green, play me a sol ring turn one, turn two, I have a tapped whatever color land I choose and one in my hand. If I hadn't played mana that turn already, boom, I have 4 mana waiting for action turn two and 6 on turn 3. Nature's lore doesn't even come remotely close.
