    the reason oath of teferi is popular is that despite it usually being pretty dead in hand it lets you win through a grafdiggers cage using aminatou and bolas, especially if you're on the lines with COTA, dihada, and chromatic orrery

    I'm the one sisay pilot who always avoid Planewalkers Aminatou Bolas line because of many dead cards, but with current meta I found that I struggle to win in the turn many times due to mana lacking of creature line (Emiel flicker use +3 more mana). Compare to PW line which has benefit of 1.less mana consume (just have any creature tap for WUBRG, no need Emiel flicker derevi)
    2.Pass through Grafdigger's cage
    3.Many PW use as Ladder for sisay without wasting mana spent (such as Saheeli copy Bloom Terder, Tyvar untap Selvala )
    Anyway, I still have both lines in the deck, just less rely on stax creature.

    There's probably some value in doing a t-test for significance on the results. For example, if say we only have 1 entry that has a 60% WR in for a single niche card, it's probably statistically insignificant. Practically, slightly higher WR with greater inclusion rates are more meaningful than high WR for a tiny inclusion rate.

    • @cedhtv
      @cedhtv  Před 9 měsíci

      I am not an educated statistician. But I know what it is. I am currently reading on it. I Think I have been able to impliment it to my average winrate on the total. But not sure if I counted it correct. But the plan is to have a P-value to the average winrates of all the singel cards. But I don't know when.

  • @Shiningfreak98
    @Shiningfreak98 Před 9 měsíci +3

    First time that I caught this, but did you say you are averaging the average win rate? If you are, that is bad statistics! One deck that played 1000 games with a 100% win rate and another deck that played 1 game with a 0% win rate will average to 50%. Should be totaling all the wins and losses and getting your average from there.
    Also, if you have dates on the tournaments, you could then even do a rolling average where you can see how the commanders have been performing over time and look when they get win percentage spikes and see which cards changed to get an idea of how certain cards are impacting the overall win rate. Would be a good way to see the effects of the Cauldron or Lotho which are newer cards. More work to set up (well only a little with a good spreadsheet) but you might get some interesting data.

      Each "deck" is actually an entry into a tournament. If you took the same deck to two tournaments, Mons would count that as two distinct decks for his data.

    • @cedhtv
      @cedhtv  Před 9 měsíci

      Correct what masterdecoy is saying. The same player with the same deck enters over and over into different tournaments. They get different preformence outcome from each tournament (mostly).

    • @a.velderrain8849
      @a.velderrain8849 Před 9 měsíci

      @@MasterDecoy1W But the original point still stands. A deck that enters a tournament, wins one game, and then drops has a 100% winrate. A deck that plays 5 rounds of Swiss and wins 4/5 has only an 80% winrate, which looks lower even though the deck technically performed better.

    • @MasterDecoy1W
      @MasterDecoy1W Před 9 měsíci

      @@a.velderrain8849 The original post has nothing to do with yours. They are separate criticisms, do not confuse the issue. As to your point, that would be on Eminence Gaming. If what you say is true, which is doubtful, it would be woefully incompetent to count an early drop as having a flawless record rather than factoring in subsequent rounds as losses. Mons cannot check every individual deck's performance at each tournament for outliers. A good faith move would not be to tell Mons he's doing bad math, but to demonstrate factual examples that violate data standards so he knows what to be wary of. Then go to Eminence Gaming and tell them to clean up their record keeping.
