V6 Camaro Muffler Delete - Straight pipe - It's so LOUD!

  • In this video I remove the muffler off of my V6 Camaro. What does a straight piped Camaro V6 sound like? How does it compare to the stock muffler sound of a V6 Camaro? You're 'bout to find out!
    What do you think? Does a muffler delete make the V6 sound like a V8? Have you ever considered a muffler delete?

    • @captainchaos0666

      @@zIncognito Nope. Straight pipe is exactly what the name implies. Meaning no catalytic converter, resonator or muffler (just a straight exhaust pipe with nothing in the way of exhaust flow). Muffler delete simply means muffler removal. Unfortunately people use the term straight pipe incorrectly to describe muffler and resonator delete. Great question though.

    82-89= 2.8 (89 also had the TTA which was a turbo 3.8) 90-92= 3.1 93- 95= 3.4 ( in '95, cars sold in California got the 3.8 early to meet new emissions standards) 95-2002= 3.8 2010+ =3.6 .. 2.8, 3.1, 3.4 are all basically the same engine 60 degree V6 with different bores and strokes, all have the same iron heads, except the 85+ got larger valves and fuel injection. 82-84 were carb'd. the 3.1 switched from mass air flow to speed density. the newer 3.6 is also 60 degree family, though it is all aluminum & has dual overhead cams. The 3.8 is a 90 degree engine and not related to the 60 at all.bonus info: 3100-3400 heads swap onto 2.8s and 3.1s, and 3500 heads swap onto 3.4s, and make a lot of power through much better airflow and higher compression.

      Ken Oger it was a 3.8 in my 91 it’s a 3.1

    • @1flynlow
      @1flynlow Před 5 lety +1

      I thought it sounded pretty good until it went over 3k RPM. I will say, I was more than happy to put the Cherry Bomb Turbo muffler on it. It was more than I was willing to handle.
