- A busy Easter weekend sees plenty of drilling and spraying activity before the rain came, the decision is taken to plough up failed O.S.R. and we get some more Spring Barley seed dressed.

Thanks. I think your right about OSR days are numbered.
That seed dressing lorry is an amazing bit of kit!
Unfortunately osr days are numbered in this country unless they let us treat for flea beetle. Great video as always
Thanks, I think your right about OSR days being numbered
A great tractor plough combination.
It is!
Another great episode 👏 it's devastating to see so much failed crop, and alot still to drill too 😢 hopefully the weather turns around and you can get something else planted before it's too late
Thanks, we will keep trying to drill when the weather allows. Not good ploughing up failed crops as we have already spent some money drilling and establishing them also some sprays and fertiliser on them which we have now lost.
Thanks for the video good to watch
Glad you enjoyed it 😊
Looks like you boys are making a decent job there , especially in these conditions 👍
We are trying, but it’s been a very testing year so far!
@@JDautopower tbh honest I’m glad I’m out of farming now , still keep a big eye on it and always will , it’s born in me , but the weather and all the politics have ruined the job in my opinion,
I like the on land plough , no spring trips means no big stones. You’ll have to find some clay for ditch repairs ? Not much drilled in NE England , too wet 🙁 . You’re a lot drier than up here .
Yes definitely no big stones here. Not sure exactly what we will be doing with the ditch banks apart from pulling them back and putting a less aggressive slope on them.
No, only on the south bank.
Please could you show us the landside extensions on the plough. Do you ever reverse them once the extensions wear off?
I will show you them next week. You can reverse them and lift them up a hole when they wear. They help the plough pull square.
Doesn't look like any of the r#pe is worth bothering with. I've seen fields that are well above waist height and in pretty much full flower last weekend.
Nice to a proper job being done, ploughing and cultivation is a lost art nowadays👍
Thanks, in some fields our rape is going backwards, it looked better before Christmas.
Nice job of ploughing, where we are osr in full flower and 5ft tall most of it looks good, interesting update.
Good video 👍 what has pre emergent spray got in it .
Thanks, we don’t put pre ems on the spring Barley. I was only applying liquid nitrogen on it.
Hope that answers your question 😊
Sorry, you are meaning the pre em on the beans, active ingredient is Pendamethalin. ( think I have spelt it right lol)
Do you farm both sides of the Humber?
No only on the South Bank.
Is that yellow stuff, Comet 200?
No it’s Nivarna, probably same active ingredient, pendamethalin.
