- Drilling continues, until rain stops play, more rape is ripped up, a Forwarder collects wood up from the tree harvester and we take wood chip to the country park.

Thanks. Yes needs must as they say lol. At least you will have a crop to harvest 😊
I just hope there’s a decent market for spring barley, for a lot of farmers it’s the only thing they can get in after last backend, great video again ❤
Thanks, the way our luck is, the market will be depressed with so much being grown
Interesting update as always, nice drying day here today in the cotswolds, oak out before Ash! Round here so dry summer, "hopefully" 🤣
Thank you, I hope the old saying is right!
Another very interesting video. I hope it starts to dry up now for everyone as I think we've had more than enough rain for now. P.
Thanks 😊. Yes I think we are all praying for some dry weather now……it will come 🙏
Great content again have a good week 👍
Thank you
Fantastic content just finished drilling oats last night very raw seed beds but needs must
Good video 👍
Thanks
john deere forestry equipment is the best i think with ponnse second best
Think the straw will be worth more this year than the crops. noticed your drill man turns with it in the ground, the Vader man told me not to do that as there's a risk of bending something especially with big horsepower on the front 🤔🚜
You are probably right about the straw! George has always turned with vaddy drills he hasn’t had problems, he has done a lot of drilling
Interesting video, I didn’t know forewarder cabs rotated. The driver chose to drive with it facing backwards , as you say skilled operators.
Do the wood chips have to be dried before they are burnt ? What do they heat ?
I drove my vad round corners all the time, well made kit.
The wood chip only has to dried if it’s cut and chipped straight away, we have some where the wood has dried naturally and then chipped, it does not need drying. They are used in biomass boilers for heating water, which in turn is used for eg. Central heating systems on a big scale. Or through a heat exchanger for drying crops.
Good channel do you own the farm
Thanks, no I don’t own it, I only work on it.
@@JDautopower just thought I'd ask you running some nice kit there brilliant channel you put out some really good content hope you get loads of subs you deserve it keep up the good work
Thanks for your feedback, really appreciate it.
Is it going to be profitable to plant spring barley, not leave as fallow and give the ground a rest ?
Good question, timing wise for drilling, we will get a good crop as it’s not to late, but there are a lot of other factors obviously for profitability, it’s a hard question to answer. Probably no right or wrong decision.
Will you harvest the brash for forestry and chip it for bio mass boiler next winter This year it’s a catch it when you can with crop drilling frustrating
I believe the brash is going to be chipped, but not for our boiler, it needs to be really good chip. We will get there eventually with the drilling 😊.
look at the sky its just thick cloud
Is that one of hydraulic pipes trailing along ground behind yer man on challenger?
Well spotted, I hadn’t seen it, could have been the brake pipe.
will there be a shortage of osr next year
Yes, there will in the UK, but it will get imported, grown using banned chemicals that we aren’t allowed to use here in the uk.
