      I have to give them all of the credit. These plants are pretty nice to me. 😊

    Everything looks great! Love the variegated pothos. We have a bush of that tradescantia in our backyard. Curious I found it at the botanical gardens and it was called the T. Pallida. Right now, my Micans and pothos are doing well. My other vining phils are either struggling or dormant :-(

      Thank you 😊 I've seen it under a variety of names now and it seems like the fuzziness on the leaves is sometimes present and sometimes not, which I think adds to the confusion. I can't wait for spring--I've got some plants struggling with either winter conditions or they've gone dormant the same as yours. I don't know why but dormancy always saddens me a little. Hoping for an early spring!

    Tip..I don't know it its true but I've seen a few plant parents put a pothos cutting in with other cuttings saying the nonpothos cutting grow roots faster.

    I love your calatheas, but your vining plants are wonderful, too!
    Some weeks ago, I bought two pots with neon pothos and one with pothos njoy. I want to stack them up on a coco coir pole with my golden pothos. The first neon was SUPER tired from the shipping. I immediately cut any node I could cut. Every single cutting died, but my main attempt to make the mother plants to produce new growth was successful. I'm waiting impatiently for them to grow and make my synthesis. Sometime in the furure, I want to make a really full philodendron brazil and cordatum trailing synthesis.

      Oh, I am glad you got the mother plant growing again. 😊 Shipping can be so tricky. I haven't staked any of my pothos up but I'm thinking about doing that or encourage them to grow up the side of one of my cabinets. The light is a bit less there so staking is maybe a better idea.

    Could your tradescantia be Tradescantia "Fuzzy Purple Heart"? I think it's a hybrid. I learned with my tradescantias that the legginess improves if they can get more top-down light.

    Beautiful trailing plants, waiting for mine to grow 😊 i have trouble with white leaves on marble queen getting brown spots. Any ideas on how to fix?

    • @AddyBeez
      @AddyBeez  Před 3 lety

      Thank you! It did take a while for mine to grow and in the end, I'll end up snipping their trails for propagation, starting all over again. Regarding the marble queen and brown spots, I had a similar problem and it seemed to stem from my watering habits. To be honest, I know that pothos are supposed to be really easy care, low maintenance plants, but getting the hang of watering these plants took me a long time. When I watered too early, I'd get at least two yellow leaves right away. If I waited just a tad too long, brown spots/crispy ends. Now I water at the first sign of its leaves starting to lower (the ones at the very top are easiest to see dropping), and if I catch it there, no brown spots. Good luck!

    Are those grow lights in those short lamps on your shelves where some of the plants live? If so, can you guide as to what bulbs you use? And I guess those lamps have switches on cords that you can reach without climbing a ladder... Really nice :) Thank you!

    • @AddyBeez
      @AddyBeez  Před 3 lety

      Hi, Ruth. Thanks! They are LED daylight bulbs. So far, they have worked pretty well. I may still try grow bulbs once they need to be replaced. The lamps do have cords that run down the back with toggle switches to turn them on and off but I ended up using a smart plug so that I can use my smart home device to turn them on and off with a verbal command.

    My neon Pothos gets water spots on the leaves and I’m so careful. I will even take the time to wipe them off if I give them a full shower. I have used some preventative sprays on it but nothing crazy, and even then I will wipe any leaves that are too wet lol. How are all of your neon Pothos leaves perfect!?

    • @AddyBeez
      @AddyBeez  Před 3 lety +1

      Ah! I dry with a microfiber cloth the same as you. However, I also have a lot of plants that are sensitive to tap water so I also use distilled water on the surface of the leaves to clean and also when watering. What I've noticed is that using distilled water seems to keep deposits from forming on the leaves. I have very hard water where I am and a lot of other additives and naturally occurring minerals are also present in my tap water that can lead to deposits that look like water spots. I think the distilled water is likely what's keeping them clear, as the plants who get tap water more often in my house do tend to develop water spots/deposits over time.

    I love the content of your videos but why do you always have the camera so close to the plants??! We get no sense of the scale of them. Some of the vining plants live on top of a shelf/bookcase and you literally showed them on top of the bookcase... pan out and let us see them in their full glory, how they look in relation to the rest of the room!!!
    BTW your "Marble Queen" combo is amazing!
