These are perfect pocket hole jigs for the beginner woodworker. They are solid and well built. I even ran over the twin jig with a truck to see if it would hold up. I went out and got the Kreg pro do you think that was a good one to buy?
I like this one tho that you are showing in your video
I genuflect in your direction, Pocket-Hole King. Long live the pocket hole King!! 😆 -Rick, USMC
lol 👊
Thank you Mr Outlaw, finally a video that simplifies pocket hole joinery, now i can move forward with confidence.Neil in UK.
Just to let you know I do appreciate you talking about in one of your videos about your shelving…. oh my god they’re the best shelving for a garage heavy duty
I'm glad you touched base on the 1 hole jig... I never really saw a point to that one until you touched on it. I'd probably still off set my 2 hole and struggle through that way but I could see if using a bunch of 2x2 for projects where that would come in massively handy. Great review.
I know literally every about pocket holes and I still watched this video. Bc I like his style so dogon much… keep up the videos!
Thank you
Hey Matt, new subscriber as well as just getting started in wood working myself. Love your videos. They are very informative and helpful. I’m learning a lot of tips that are very helpful. I really enjoyed the video on how to joint wood with out a jointer. Keep up the good work and God Bless.
This was my first jig! I still use it today!! Awesome video!!! Thanks for the content Matt.
Thank you
i PURCHASED ONE AND IT WORKS GREAT. VERY EASY TO USE AND MAKES A NICE CLEAN POCKET.
Another fantastic video
Really cool and handy. I like the tough test with your truck. Super awesome.
Thank you
I bought the twin kit like a year ago from them it has done me well even used it when building a screen door
Great review. Looks like this is one durable product
Funny timing on the power tip. My store of choice has been out of the drill bit for a couple months, until last Monday. I have held off on ordering it online, didn't need it immediately but wanted an extra. Now I have 2 bits and 2 driver bits. Also bought the one hole to carry in my "to-go toolbox" for when I deliver my completed pieces.
Nice video Matt. You really know how to use that jig. Keep up the good content. Massca is setting the bar for jigs.
lol thanks!
Thanks a ton Matt!
I second the power tip! I managed to lose the screw in the collar once, that was so frustrating.
Thanks, Pocket Hole King!!
Another great video sir you are making me want to get masca jig all of them and do away with my Kreg jigs lol. They do look very well made fir sure.
Nice!👊🏻
As someone said Tuesday night about that size doesn't matter. I would like to add that Brand and durability makes it more enjoyable and last a lot longer.
I don't know about everyone else, but I would watch a whole series of videos of you and Mrs. 731 running over different tools with your truck. It could become a whole bit, like when Letterman used to do "Will it float?" on LATE NIGHT.
lol
i have a massca and love it
I have that pocket hole jig and I love it just takes a little bit longer to use
Well guess I’ll be getting a second pocket hole bit. This review was as awesome as the m1 and m2 reviews. Honestly cannot wait to get that m2 bundle from massca.
Thanks!
A great videos for us beginning/weekend/holiday woodworkers. Thanks for sharing it.
PS: I hope that you tipped your driver. They depend on tips, you know.
lol
It's #pocketholetime! Looks like the Ford F150 wants to come with 😉
I can’t tell you the number of times I’ve been walking through Walmart and suddenly needed to drill a pocket hole. LOL
I know right!
ROFL, some of their displays could use a pocket hole and screw!
Good job Matt! That's one (Ford) tough Massca jig! :)
It sure is!
Man, I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been walking around Walmart wishing I could drill me some pocket holes. If only I had a small jig I could carry in my pocket!!!! 🤣
Look at you! Getting all sponsored up and stuff, whew!
Honestly, IMO, the magnet on the one and two hole jig is a great idea, and where Kreg should have went to upgrade the R3, which I have. I’m not a fan of the newest Kreg jigs.
As the new self proclaimed “King”, when are you getting a Castle? Specifically the big Castle self contained units? I rather fancy the large green bench top one that I saw Finish Carpentry TV bought and used.
lol 👊🏻
Great video. Also power tip was great. I recommend at least a second or third bit preset to a different depth/length so you don't have to adjust the collar every time you put a pocket hole in a different thickness piece of wood.
Exactly my thought
I'm retiring the first of the year after 41 years in the welding supply business. At 65 I know im late wanting to work with wood. My question is you said you used tobacco sticks and did you planer to true the wood up. I want to make a serving tray out of them. Btw your videos are awesome
Hey matt,
I've got great ideas for projects and most of the time i just go for it, with just the design in my mind. Could you make a video about how you make a design? not on sketchup please! Just drawing it out with pen and paper. i enjoy woodworking because it gets me away from a screen. Where do you start with a design? top, bottom, inside out? how do i make it to scale? is there special graph paper for this kind of thing? is blank printer paper best?
Thanks!
Got it on my wish list.
awesome
Pocket hole jig in your pocket
Genius
👊🏻
I wish I'd watched this before getting the Kreg 720. It works fine but I think the newer ones are lower quality than the k4 and k5. Would have gotten the Massca probably. I would caveat by saying if you don't have anything for pocket holes just save up for the benchtop jig. By the time you get the jig and the clamps you could save 25-40 more and get the M1 or M2.
When did you switch from Kreg to Massca? I love watching your videos. You are the reason I'm starting my journey in woodworking. Have a great day!
Thank you. About 3 months ago.
@@731Woodworks just saw this, l traded in my Kreg 5 for the Anchor Auto jig got a 70 buck trade in and really like it much better then the Kreg. I have this small masca and it is great for quick small things. love the page and your web site. have learned so much from watching your videos. just started into this hobby when l retired to NC and rebuilt the wood working equipment that was on the property.. keep it up Matt. your such an inspiration to us rookies and thank you for your service. I made the American Flag cross from your video but made it a thin blue line one for my brother in law that just retired after 35 yrs. He loved it and want a bunch more made for friends. guess the start of my hobby business. thank you again for the videos and keep it up
Does Massca sell a plug cutting bit for their jig? Or will a Kreg plug cutter fit a Massca Jig?
From a fellow Arkansan; while I am not a pocket hole fan thanks to owning the Porter Cable 550 pocket cutter, I enjoy your videos and find them informative and entertaining. The pocket hole jig in the pocket comment was funny but left me wondering what would happen to the jig walking around Walmart if your pockets already had holes😁. That said, the clip starting around 3:38 was fairly cringe worthy. Stay safe. 👊 Steve
thanks
Besides being a good woodworker, you are also a good seller, you convinced me, I will buy that poket hole jig.
Just a question: Is it better than the kreg sistem?
I think better would be subjective from person to person. I really like Massca products and more than that, I like that they are a small up and coming company.
Great review. Thanks for sharing.
Do you know if Massca also sells in Europe? Not to Europe, individual sending will be far more expensive than the whole jig/bundle.
I'm not sure. Send them a message, they are quick to respond
How do you figure out spacing? Say I'm joining two 28" L Board together on the wide side, how do I figure out how many pocket holes I need along that 28" long length, and how do I space them out?
I do them about every 8-12”
Which Masca pocket hole jig do you recommend for use on 1/2" plywood. I will be building drawers for a dresser.
Any would work. I like the The M2
I m a new subscriber and I just noticed the “Razorback” plate on the front of your truck in a video-are you an Arkansan?
yes I am
@@731Woodworks 👍🏻 I live in Cecil, near Ozark-I enjoy your videos.
Love your work. On the massca pocket jig, I think your on the wrong side. If you look you can move the stop and turn it around for a inside hole. There is a slit difference on dimensions. Just follow the 🏹 arrow. Probably doesn't make much difference. Really like watching.
Hey Matt where did you get that blue silicon ring?
Amazon
I do have one question do you think they are going to re do the jig after your last review about the bigger version
Who are we talking about?
👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻
fist
If I were MASSCA, I would be asking to use that video footage of the truck running over my product!
lol
So.....who HASN’T been to Walmart and needed a pocket hole!!! 🤣🤣
right!
Now that's how u use ur jig
Yes!
And! After you break the bit and reach for the back up, MASSCA will replace the original. I mean c’mon how sweet is that? I also like the magnet feature
that's correct
@@731Woodworks Do they give a life-warranty also on the bit? That really should be great.
"Don't do this"... Proceeds to do it 🤣🤣
Yeah I walk around Walmart all the time... pocket hole here pocket hole there...lol 👊
👊🏻
Nice kit for 30 bucks
Why is it still called sawdust if it's coming from a drill bit 🤔?
🤷🏻♂️
Sure have Amy drive over it
It will break at the wrost possible time.
Hey there, I subscribed when I came home from prison, I have been building stuff as a hobby for my mother, daughter,n woman, n I have a idea I wanted to run past u,I ran it by ,ET, Edwin Thomas, who I saw on ur show, think I got name right,if u have any time, would u listen to my idea, its for underprivileged kids,im live in baltimore, and I grew up on sec 8,n didn't have what I needed, but I still graduated, anyways,I want to help them, by building stuff they need to have a easier life then I had
You can send me the idea through my contact form on the website 731woodworks.com
Those Festool systainers are super distracting :-p
lol, amazing gift from a viewer, the dust extractor and sander combo 😳
My sander and vac were my first Festool purchases. Such a huge difference! Now I have the domino, track saw, OF1400 router, and miter saw.
Domino is on my list lol
@@731Woodworks if you can, get the XL version. Seneca Woodworking has a ton of accessories for it that allow you to use all of the smaller version bits, So it’s like having both.
@@jeffb5858 What! 🤯 I didn't know that. Thanks!
"Unbafor"
Go hogs…..I just bought me one of those too.
Instructions? We don need no stinking instructions!
that's right! We're men! lol
😂😂😂Maybe you’re walking around Walmart and need to drill a pocket hole.... 😂😂😂
🤣
Not a fan of these sponsored videos!!
Fish gotta swim, birds gotta eat.
Do not recommend this company not consumer friendly ordered and paid for product. Never received.
For screw selection there is a nice app available, search on Jig Helper.
For some reason pocket hole joinery isn't as popular here in the UK. I love it though! Thanks for introducing me to pocket holes! I bought Kreg because of your videos. I'll have to get a Massca jig now 👊
