    Getting the IPG v5 version of the Gan X will save you about 10% of the price compared to the numerical one. Is it worth the price cut... or is it better?

    I made a mistake, clear magnets are the strongest. The yellow actually feels good with the tensions I have though so I am going to keep it for now.

      Hey speedcube review, what do you think about the idea of the numerical tensions being 0.4, 0.6, and 0.8 instead of 0.6, 0,8, and 1.0? Seems like most people would like it, I personally like 0.8, but someone like you can use 0.4, while most people use 0.6

    Ok so I thought at first it couldn't possibly be that loose on the tightest settings but went back and checked and it was possible to move it as you did but that's not usually how I check tensions. For me I like a light cube, I use the SM on blues and feel maybe slightly lighter might be better. I use the X on greens and sometimes feel like wanting it a bit lighter and other times a bit heavier. However both blues are too light and yellows are too heavy for me. I don't think the tensions would suit those that prefer yellows or greater in an SM, most people that I see like the X like a fast cube.

    I started with the yellow nuts and after thousands of solves the cube got harder to turn, even though I cleaned it a few times so I've switched to the green nuts and it felt like how it did when it was new again.. Also I've pretty much worn the GAN logo right off the white centre.

      @nyx7570 Před 5 lety

      My Air SM did the same after a few hundred solves, but to an extreme. I had to switch to the purple nuts, put them extra loose, and it still really hard to turn and extremely sluggish, no matter how I clean it or lube it (this never happened with my other brand cubes). Now I'm holding back on getting the 356 X because I'm scared it will do the same. It would suck to pay this much money for a cube that becomes unusable so quick. Do you think the 356 X is worth it?

    • @SpeedCubeReview
      @SpeedCubeReview  Před 5 lety

      The springs don’t slow cubes down, and cubes don’t just become sluggish.with the almost 20 Gan cubes I have I have never experienced that. If anything springs will break in and the cube will become faster. If yours is slowing down, it’s not the springs that are causing that. Clean it a bit more thoroughly and then get a lubricant like Lunar. Even people like Max Park purposely slow their Gan down because it’s too fast.

    I am using the yellow GES nuts, after some time I decided to go back to green nuts , but now I want to go back to the yellow GES, but I am really afraid of breaking them.
    I have heard from my friends that they have broke their 354 M GES because they have swapped them couple of times. They said that the hole will be heavily damaged after swapping for some times. and eventually they wont stick on the screw.
    Now I cant go back to the yellow set because I dont want to break them :"$

      Nothing wrong. That’s normal. Progress is not linear and it may take a year to get under 14. Maybe a couple years for 13. Even the top solvers in the world take years to move one second. Learn full OLL. Don’t use algs for most F2L, reduce rotations, practice SLOWLY, and have fun.

    @parityhater7155 Před 4 lety

    I personally think that the numeral ipg is wayy not worth it. Not that it’s better, it’s just not worth paying the extra $11 for being able to take out springs with your hand. You’re not even going to use it that much. After you’ve gotten your favourite tensions, most likely the next time you’ll use it it when you’re lubing it. In addition, it’s also very inaccurate doing it with your hands. THIS IS NOT AN ESSAY.

      What? 0.6 is the most tight tension, and 1.0 is the most loose

      .8 is even tighter

    • @SpeedCubeReview
      @SpeedCubeReview  Před 5 lety

      .6 is the tightest. .8 is looser an 1 is the loosest. It’s the distance between the core and the piece. .6 is the closest and therefor tightest.

    • @SpeedCubeReview
      @SpeedCubeReview  Před 4 lety

      Lockup's happen from the Cuber, not the cube. If you lubed the springs, clean it. They should not be lubed.
      Clean the cube and start fresh. I've used the same cubes for many many years. They don't "go bad".

      Clean the pieces. You may just have lube on them. I've used the same cube for years now. If it's an issue, contact Gan. That is why you get a warranty card with the cube.
