I think its strange you cant take centercaps off without another tool but overall from the videos ive seen the cube looks really good. its so expensive though its kind of insane.

Out of curiosity, would you consider this video a review of the puzzle? Or more of a product demo? Typically you have some sort of verdict or share your perspective on the performance and value proposition of a puzzle, but you didn’t share that for this cube. I hope the question doesn’t come across as offensive or dismissive of the video, I’ve been a long time fan of your content and I’m always looking forward to your next upload. Just curious about how you tackled this puzzle in particular.

Hi Shawn thanks for the always up to date content. Just as a curiosity: for those of us that are really struggling with stronger magnets cubes, and the original YS3m for me was definitely a bit too much, would you say this has eased a bit overall or it's still in the same ballpark than the original?

Also as a note for LSE. You don't have to use the same edges from the blocks you made. It can be any 2 opposite edges. So here you used red/orange. You can use any two edges for your inserts during arrow. Whichever one is already on bottom just put it's opposite down, and then insert them where they go. It requires an extra U move at the end but it's still faster than and more efficient than using both block edges. Likewise, if you already have a white on the bottom, just insert the other white edge during arrow. And your most likely ending up with a U-Perm can also be H or Z, but when you control where everything goes, it is unlikely. You only use the block edges if one of them is already in the bottom and oriented. And if the other block edge can be inserted during arrow.

Maglev doesn't really do anything for the speed of a puzzle. It may speed it up by about .02 seconds. As for the core being magnetic, yes it makes a huge difference. Obviously as has been seen over the last few years. The puzzles seem to have gained the ability to fix themselves which means slight turning mistakes are not punished as much. It used to be that a slight over turn would result in a +2 when the cube lands, or an unintended corner cut. With a magnetic core it mitigates accidents and has made cubes much faster, in general. Like sub 5 is normal now. And it's largely in part to magnetic cores. Maglev not so much, that's just a gimmick.

The biggest thing during LSE you don't have to use the block edges. You can use any 2 edges to insert that you want to. Say your block is red/orange. If you already have the blue edge with the top color on bottom, then you can move the green down, and then insert those two, and just do a U move, then do the last 4 edges. And then AUF. Let's say you have the blue edge with the bottom color already down, then you can bring the green edge down, and you either have H,Z,U perm. Most of the time it's U Perm. The only rule for that is make sure they are opposite edges. So either (R/Y O/Y) (R/W O/W) or any combinationnof opposite edges. I would not recommend (R/Y R/W) edges to be paired because that's a little more complicated. If you do that you need to do a cube rotation, because W/Y is no longer the bottom layer. And a U-Perm.

I like the cube, but when competing with people, they feel like bots. I proved it by going to an expert round, got a player, they went really fast, and then when the round ended, I went to hard and I found the exact same “person” and he was going way slower. That proved that you don’t compete with real people. The only way to compete with real people is if a friend has a gocube and you can compete. Sorry, but it isn’t what you expected.
