I thought triangles were deltas but I don't think it was upside down, it looks vaguely familiar but it's been far too long.
I hope I can find time to get back into it again sometime soon.
Edit: Upside down triangle is a vector, I used them a lot in games programming, so that's probably why it's familiar. I never really wrote vector math like that, it was all with variables and code, so only would have seen it like that only in my books occasionally. I need to take them back of the shelf again sometime. I'm not sure but my gut feeling tells me it's vector translations and manipulation.
