- Moose Peak Lighthouse is a very historic lighthouse located way up in Down East Maine near Jonesport and has served this countries mariners for centuries. Please join me as I journey by boat out to Mistake Island with my friends Billy and Thor. Mistake Island is managed by the Nature Conservancy and is where Moose Peak Lighthouse is located. Billy lets me in and I get an unexpected chance to go inside and explore this awesome old lighthouse on a brisk spring day. The views from the top of the Maine coast and nearby coastal islands are exceptional. The lighthouse is owned by a non-profit historically minded group and they are currently accepting donations to help in its restoration here at GoFundMe under the name Moose Peak Lighthouse Restoration:

Loved the lighthouse. That would be a great experience...going up in it.
Chigg, you should know that by now that most of us are here because we love you. It doesn't matter if you're detecting, caving or finding treasure in rivers. I myself love all of them and the longer the video the better I like it.

Sitting here watching..all good... until Beau went up the staircase...Ohh my goodness, my legs start going numb and I get pins and needles feeling in my armrs and feet... and when he walke on the balcony..I almost fainted...Bad to have fear for hights...But it was spectacular to see this video wow I love the Ocean.

When you said it would be upsetting if the fog horn went off. Reminded me of a time in 1969 in Ulm Germany. I was coming down from the upper tower in a cathedral church named the Munster. 700+ steps and a lot spiral. When descending I was just going past the belfrey when those huge bells started ringing. Scared the heck out of me. I think it gave me vertigo😂. Those bells must have been 15 feet across the.opening. It was tough getting away. Thanks for jogging my memory. Now I probably won't sleep for a week. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸💀💀😭😭😥😂😂
Hi! Fun video, These guys seem like a lot of fun. Nice lighthouse too. My great-grandfather was the Lighthouse Keeper on Poole's Island in the Chesapeake Bay. My grandfather was born on the island and live there until they moved on to the Bush River when he was a kid. My grandmother and now my mom have shared a lot of tintype pictures from the island back then. Lol, not sure why I just told you all that!

Yeah, that was a blast from the past. I remember always hearing about Governor Milliken on the radio growing up in the 70s. William Milliken was governor of Michigan from '69 to '83.
That was Mega cool. We've got plenty of lighthouses around the Great Lakes but you just can't go into him like that. Some of them you can.
When you put your camera over the edge and look straight down I just about lost my lunch.

My little Lake Michigan town has a lighthouse, but, have never been inside. It is nice to know what the inside might look like.
Man..... those flat bottom skiffs are a rough ride. The lighthouse brings the song "Lighthouse - by Nickel Creek to mind. That would be pretty awesome to spend the night in that.

This wasn't super awesome, IT'S TOTALLY AWESOME!! I love lighthouses. My neighbor's family were the last light keepers for the past 200 years at a light house in I believe the southern CA coast, (i know it was a long time and her Mom was the last lightkeeper before it was automated.)
