Every day during the Champions Chess Tour #AirthingsMasters 2022, a chess player will battle it out against 10-year-old Magnus Carlsen on our app in a 2+0 time control.
Grandmaster Simon Williams - a.k.a. Ginger GM - is known for his aggressive, fighting style of chess. But can he be the first to beat Magnus age 10? Or can he at least climb the leaderboard and overtake David Howell (who lasted 72 moves) in the #1 spot? Watch to find out!
Simon Kim Williams is an English chess grandmaster and author. In 1993, he received his first international FIDE rating of 2255. During the same year he finished seventh in the European Under-14 Championship. Williams regularly participated in youth tournaments throughout the 1990s, finishing seventh in the 1997 European Under-20 Championship and finishing second in the Smith and Williamson Young Masters in 1998. He became a Grandmaster in 2008, achieving the final norm at the Hastings International Chess Congress 2005/2006 and the 2500+ rating at Hastings 2007/2008.

Well he said that he mouse slipped on move one so if thats true he probably meant to start with 1. C4 English opening
He definitely mouse-slipped, he played c4 all his life and even made an English repertoire course. He transitioned into Alapin opening which is not really strange but it was in a slightly wrong order because of the mouse slip.
@@MilosBeliche didn't mouse slip but I find it funny how he tried to play 3 different moves on move one 😂
It's well known that C3 on this app was 10 yr old Magnus' weakness.

Chess Engine glitch starter pack Play 1 c3 as white. This is pure gold. If anyone can beat stockfish its GM Simon with the Saragossa opening ! the most scary opening for engines. Its true you have to trash talk chess engines and chess bots to wear them down. The look on David's face priceless. So good
