- "I'm about to die here from the pressure. The worst feeling is not shame. The worst feeling is the anticipation of shame."
Dutch Grandmaster Anish Giri takes the Play Magnus Champions Challenge on Day 3 of the Oslo Esports Cup.
Anish will have 2 minutes on the clock. The goal is to beat 10-year-old Magnus Carlsen in as few moves as possible, or if you lose, to last as many moves as possible!
Giri famously beat real-life Magnus Carlsen in 22 moves with the black pieces on his Wijk aan Zee A Group debut in 2011, while he started 2012 by winning his first supertournament, finishing above Hikaru Nakamura, Fabiano Caruana, Vassily Ivanchuk and Alexander Morozevich in Reggio Emilia.
The rivalry with Magnus, both off and on the board, has become intense!

Good game ;)
Anish did his best, one can't ask more, but this was the best possible result he got.lol
we want to see u play next
LOL
@Magnus Carlsen Decent 😎
😂😂
"The worst feeling is not shame. The worst feeling is anticipation of shame." Haa.. beautiful Anish 👌
Guru Giri with the wise words
Most talented indecisive chess player ever
That is an amazing unintended quote.
Replace shame with vomit and it's still true
His time in Japan probably taught him that 😅
I bet Anish is standing there thinking WOW I wish these people could just leave me in peace while I'm trying to concentrate
thats not a pro attitude..i bet he was joking
@@pushingyourownagenda9889 Of course he was
Anish can draw any position playing with any age people. I think he can draw all the game with engine too.
Nah, engines are too brutal for him to draw.
Drawnish Giri
@@KK-wv7vz I have draw against stockfish 3200elo
@@HUMAN-jf8uq legends say he draws against toddlers and pets too.
Engine would beat him every single time.
Art of drawing from winning positions by Anish Giri, one move stalemates would be highlight of the book.
Art of being 800 for the longest time , u
@@rahulkapoor3212 My collection of retarded moves should be the name of your book.
Bro you’re the type of guy to blunder checkmate up 10 points of material and you’re making fun of a super gm. Get a life.
@@mrleastlol says a snowflake who can't take a joke.
@@mrleastlol you're the type of guy to be named ajitesh
For Anish, a draw is always a win.
Anish didn't see any difference from both
@@octobsession3061 how comes? Hahahahah
Hahahahahahaaaa
tablish giri
"dont talk to me" why anish is one of my FAVORITES!
Anish once again clasping a draw from the hands of victory
"Stalemate or no Stalemate?"
Anish: *yes*
Anish is obviously a top 10 world-class player and definitely world champion in quick-wittedness.
To never defeat and to never lose is the real win, well done anish on your draw 👏
😂
“Don’t talk to me” I’m dead 😂😂😂😂😂
Great interview and atmosphere. Very fun!
Magnus 10 has a strange tendency to sac pawns for no reason in completely drawn endgames. I once played a knight vs bishop endgame with level pawns against Magnus 10, then he managed to give away two of them for free just to avoid a draw and instead lost the game due to a Knight checkmate.
Even the Play Magnus bot knows how much Anish loves to draw
He was so proud with the 93 moves done for the draw
Really cool! Only the lay-out of the app feels that it could be improved.
After the last rook move, they all go wow, I was wondering magnus just blundered the rook why everyone so happy :D
😂
it was a creative stalemate by magnus ai
That was a nice game. Also, its impressive how Anish can speak many languages.
Anish is just so wholesome. I like him.
Anish can draw any winning game🤣
Damn, Kaja sure does do a great job. She is so articulate, barely fumbles, knows when to talk and what to ask. Brilliant professional. Makes the players comfortable and drives the whole event so comfortably. I've seen kids make fun of her on live streams for not knowing chess stuff, but that's not her job. Her job is to bridge the gap between regular people and the chess experts in commentary, and she does it very very well.
I agree, she's great
Yes, she should move on. Chess is too small an arena for her.
No she shouldn't move on! Niche is the new mainstream. I still want to know why Anish chose not to castle there though.
One of her pros is also that her voice is so relaxed in what she says. Like she likes to talk with people, without stress or thinking about words to say, so smooth
I love that you went on to copy and paste this comment on other videos 😂
Anish: ddescribing lines in coordinates
Kaja: Yes, sure, exactly
"Like Simon Williams but make it work" - Anish Giri 2022
Brutal 😭😭😭
Very entertaining. It just goes to show how good Magnus was and still is.
Im 100% sure magnus wasnt this good at 10
@@tabularasa9576 magnus was a gm when he was 13 he probably was
@@l-opera yes but not at this strength
@@tabularasa9576 the main thing is how fast Magnus played, Anish couldn’t think that much. Actual Magnus obviously wouldn’t be that fast
@@l-opera But he didn't play moves instantly.
I wonder if Magnus would beat 10 yo Magnus..
I managed to beat 8 years-158 days old Magnus, but can't cope with 8 years-159 days old Magnus ;)
He prolly just had a good breakfast 💀
"What's going through your head right now"
"Don't talk to me"
Ah, a fellow Sigma male
May i know the reason behind, why black did not resign? Huh?Why?
This looks so much fun. I might get the app. I feel age 23 onwards will be highly difficult. Happy to share the journey. Probably only winning games though.
Lol Impossible to beat age 16 if you're not a GM
Age 10 magnus is 2200
There's something so funny about one adult having to tell another adult "don't talk to me" like they're siblings. 5:30
Fantastic...👏👏👏
Draw master anish giri 🔥🔥🔥
8:29 Whenever a GM brings the seemingly dwindling Rook to the corner- High alert there!
This app is an engine... Engine...
Just Engine...
Congratulations Anish for another draw! 💐👏
We want Magnus vs Magnus 10.
I like to see magnus play himself 10
4:00 savage
OWNED
Anish had an interesting life, traveling so much.
Kaja will not shut up when they are playing, i also feel that they should let the players play with focus
True. Magnus at age 10 is already an IM, and beating an IM in 2 minutes is extremely difficult, especially when he is a bot and has unlimited time. It's also difficult to play on this app, as they cannot pre-move, and the standing position of the player is also awkward. The commentators keep talking (It's their job to commentate), but I think they should make it such that the player cannot hear them. It's extremely distracting.
They Talk about it like its the real Magnus 😂 Strange
anish......real talent...........👍
I can proudly say I beat Magnus (10) once in my life🙏
But I had all the time in the world..
I defeated magnus carlsen10 in only game versus more 100 losses. Now i see how strong magnus 10 is. It is impossible to win finales against him .He played like stockfish in the final.
well, what we could expect from Anish, he always goes for draw
Anish trying to get himself as a quote at the top of an Agadmator video!
Am sure Anish will crush the age 10 magnus like he crushed 21 year old magnus.
Edit- saw the video, and he didn't.
Anish got swagger.
"Like Simon Williams but make it work" 😂
Where's Fabi?
Magnus 10 is too hard for me. I am disappointed because I can't play more with this nice app.
It was unpredictable
This is BRUTAL showing this just after Anish lost 3-0 to Real Magnus. World champion with always the best content
Anish "remember the Draw" giri
Magnus wasn't much of a prodigy at age 10. Proceeds to draw a Magnus age 10 bot.
Tbh, he would've won if he had truly concentrated
@@cdorresteijn yea. Me too
Anish is the gdot, which stands for the greats drawish of all tine
Draw?
well done Anish
Suprise draw against 10 year old. Thats Anish Giri!
Drawnish Giri "strikes" again
Magnus at 10 can beat me at 100
Kaja.. ‘WOW… WOW.. WoW!…’
Natural last move
Anish could have increased 2 more moves. Why did he take the rook, just move the king, rook takes pawn, pin the rook and exchange rooks to draw. Get 2 extra moves!
Bacrot, Nepo, Karjakin, Lev and many more would be much stronger at the age of 10
Russian, Japanese, Nepalese, Dutch, English, probably some Georgian from his wife. Man, this guy is a genius.
A friend of mine knows 15 languages (and these include some very hard languages such as Antice Greece, Latin, Arabic and Chinese) and he knows most of those languages in the very best form and he has a much much much deeper knowledge and thoughts than Anish Giri and most of the chess grandmasters, in the fields of history, anthropology, literal arts, mythology, history of Islam, history of China and Europe, history of different sects, theology, bussiness, economics, phonology and semantics.
@@entelektuel.yolculuk no one asked
@@lutfilutfi3310 are ye Persian ?
@@gollynator yea well, the reason I'm saying it is that if we treat chess masters as geniusses, me friend must be treated as a super-genius. And yes, being great at chess ain't a sign of genius. Even if it is, it's a reaaaally really weak and tiny one. Also, what I'm trying to also say is, most most probably, the only that Anish Giri is better than me friend in this life, is chess. So, my friend not being in the top 10 chess players doesn't change a thing. My friend is missing only 1 thing (chess), and a not so much important one. However, me friend tops Anish Giri in almost every other thing, including even daily stuff such as gastronomy/cooking skills and knowledge and talking smoothly and effectively. And also, all these areas that I listed are much more significant than chess.
@@gollynator i didn't say anything that far-fetched or that insulting to anybody, nor did I say anything suggesting that I need help. Anyways, anybody reading our dialogue will appreciate that what I said weren't that far-fetched, nor wrong. Anybody reading our dialogue will appreciate that what ye do now is actually insulting me fer no good reason. But if ye definitely say "I'm out, I go away", then I cannot hold ye. If ye say so, then by all means, please go away. But do know that ye don't have the right to insult with everything that comes to yer mind and then immediately go away. No... Ye either stay here and stand fer what ye claim/think, with kind manners.... Or ye go away silently, without saying a thing, without making noise...
Like Simon Williams but then make it work 😂😂
Imagine being married to him and hearing him argue in that tone. I'd go crazy lol
Anish is really entertaining 😂
ông nào giải thích dùm tôi tại sao lại hòa đc k
These are hilarious, because if they can’t beat Magnus at 10 how are they going to beat him now?
Magnus revenged with same tactic😂
[Giri drawing] "A shocking result!" ummm not really lol
Oh ! Anish and draw . Still Better love story than twilight
And here I thought anish giri was an Indian 😂😂🤯🤧
I think Kaja's job is to distract players and make sure they don't win... lol
Love Anish! Great sport.
People call you chicken chess champion. But I think you're awesome i think it's a wonderful title and an awesome psychological advantage knowing you can walk in and force a draw.
meanwhile i am struggling with this 10 years old magnus bot
Anish Giri rei do empate
You can't not like this guy!
It's like Giri's mind is set for Draw by default...
Could some one please explain to me why this math is draw? After Anish took the rook, then it was Magnus’ turn. By this way, Magnus was sure to fail. Why the board showed Draw? Am I missing any rule of chess?
Stalemate
Magnus has no legal moves so it's a stalemate (= draw).
Pinag laruan ko pa kasi, diko na naisip na , may Stale mate ,,
Its I was Trying to give my opponent a "FALSE Hope". .. - by that he will totally be demoralised, And that was psychology was all about! remembering bobby fishers "IDONT BELIEVE ON PSYCHOLOGY, Ionly believe on the Good moves!!

Is there a Magnus age 2?
No
honestly it really wasnt that surprising that its a draw. its giri afterall :)
For anish draw is better than win
