I was 1100 rated when i knew not to go into a king v king endgame when you're a pawn down.
Not necessarily correct, you can draw plenty of pawn endgames down a pawn depending on the pieces available. In this case, he forgot that he would lose the king's opposition.
I ALWAYS go king v king when Iâm down to force a draw.
Depends on position. If you have a past pawn you might be first the punch. With promotion it's not about who has the most potential, it is who gets there first. But yes, "as a rule."

Hard to explain the exchange of rooks there. I am dumbfounded- even if you can't see the rook move back to the first rank as the drawing move, I would think a player of Alireza's rating to know instantly the K and pawn ending is easily won.

My prof said the correct way to have said it in German would have been to leave out the "ein" so that it would be, "Ich bin Berliner."
Two things can be true at once. Of course, JFK's audience weren't stupid. They knew he wasn't calling himself a doughnut, however it is also true that the word "Berliner" does indeed refer to a type of German doughnut.
It's just a simple, funny coincidence.
What I find to be humorous is that a certain free online encyclopedia, that shall go unnamed so that I don't get my comment deleted, is inconsistent with itself when it says, "this type of doughnut is called 'Pfannkuchen' (literally: Pan cake)," and yet has another article about the "Krapfen (Doughnut)" in which it states, "A Krapfen or Berliner is a German jam doughnut."

Yeah I was raised going to church so know that blasphemy can offend but apologies it isn't something I'm going to remove. I have not had much time to practice my chess moves recently as I have been forced to spend a lot of time in Shenzhen (the most disgusting city in history). There's no one to practice against because the natives are too busy designing electronics that will function for up to 40 days after someone purchases them. Despite this, my rating has managed to climb nearly 50 points because I am staying in a soundproof hotel room. My initial reason for making such a reservation was for very R-rated, dating app reasons. However, I've since realized that I can practice my swooshing noises as loud as I like. I can now count on my opponent forfeiting when I move my bishops more than three squares at a time. You don't know intimidation until you're sitting across the board from a lanky, pale white, 6'6" man who can blow out a birthday candle from 40 feet away with a deafening, self-supplied board game sound effect.
