This episode brings us Brennan Maxwell who fun fact is the person that got Lynch back into Magic, traveling the world shooting TV shows playing magic on airplanes and our Co-Producer Joe Adams. Both of these guests join Lynch and Joseph the co-hosts of I Hate Your Deck, to go head to head in this multiplayer game!

We had real empathy for Brennan here, we want people to have fun playing magic! This section of the show is a big reason why we chose to air this episode even though it was an older episode.

guys never change the way you've been doing these episodes. the raw live banter, no edits make this the most enjoyable commander series to watch. i've watched at least every episode 2 times.

There must be some edit as the searches and shuffling is not always shown. But I don't mind if the lulls where nobody says anything are edited out. I also like the banter. And one thing I have to say: Although US is a big mess now and I live in Finland, I'd pay an airfare to just get to play with these guys, but I don't have that kinda money.
Lynch paying life for a stomping ground, to then play amulet of vigor is what i call fair magic!
Now that I think about it... He would've actually survived if he played the Stomping Ground later

Reality: Dragon Decks 0 - 4 and a Kaalia Deck opted no dragons.
As always it depends on the build but scion is usualy a fast combo enabler. Easy fast and effective

Watched every episode so far love the show. If people are getting ticked off about a shirt then they need to grow up. Best thing about magic is that it brings people together who may have never met in any other way.

okay so i feel bad for J. Adams here man lol! I know the pain of being ganged up on and i could see that he was a bit salty about it but love the good sportsmanship yall always have fun no matter what and it is a inspiration to just have fun no matter what because thats the spirit of magic. Great content and as Joe always says "It's WHOLESOME MAGIC!" lol!
Soooooo....I have a odd suggestion that i think your viewers and patrons would enjoy to see. What if you and your friends pick four decks lists or commanders each of you build that deck and each roll randomly for a deck to play. That way it is all by chance and luck with the fates of Magic. It would be fair magic too.

I tried that out before in my playgroup (swapping decks). it wasn't great because people don't know what to tutor for when they are unfamiliar with the deck. Everyone kept saying "I'm not sure what I should get...what should I get?" and it got downright painful after the 10th time.
The commander that didn't get cast is the one that wins. Makes mental note.
eminence is a ridiculous mechanic. Highly recommended.

An Edgar deck didn't get targeted all game and ended up winning. I'm shocked.
Well thats what happen when someone is not dropping land/mana screw.
Im shock that he wont the game with only one swamp! ONE SWAMP!
That jeweled lotus in a five color commander deck seems like a wierd flex. It serves no purpose other than to say "look, I have a jeweled lotus."
It would have been better had he not played it until he could use it, because fear of his Commander entering play early is what got him killed. Jeska probably would have been sent at Lynch otherwise. .
That's what I thought at first, but then I realized it's probably really useful the 2nd time he casts Scion, he just needs to pay 4 mana and should have enough mana left to activate it's ability.
The point is everytime I cast Scion hes immediately targeted and killed so next time I can cast it for 4 mana. Thats the hope anyways. I've been testing it out and so far it helps.
It costs 0 and there was negligible risk of Counterspells or discard spells so aside from a Wheel of Fortune, I think it would be better kept in hand as a surprise. A major part of competitive Commander is setting up a win condition without everyone knowing it.
That was the most passive Markov I've ever seen lmao
Style points:
+ Brennan for his old-frame basic lands. That's the sign of good taste.
+ Joe for his OG Mana Crypt with Mark Tedin's art. Nothing can top that.
Honorable mention: Lynch for always being cool and well-mannered.
You guys quickly took the spot of my favorite mtg show to watch! It really feels to me like I'm sitting next to the table and having a good time with all of you. Reminds me of the days when I used to play very regularly with some friends. You guys rock!

You guys are hilarious! This was a fantastic episode and everyone surprisingly left the Edgar player alone, feels bad for the dragons though. I also really enjoy Lynch's behavior and attitude in these games. It is all for fun and show, MTG really is about bringing friends together and just playing and having fun. Sure it sucks to be taken out of the game quickly but that's why we always play more than once lol. Thanks again for the great video. Keep up the vibe Joseph! Black lands matter was great.

This was fun to watch. Love to see the variety of decks in each episode. Also, it kinda feels like I'm playing along since I can't see each player's hand. Gives it a sense of anticipation.

I have an Edgar deck and it never fails to pop off like crazy every game. Vampires was the first deck I ever made when I started MTG during the original Zendikar block when I was in High School. They will always be my favorite tribe in mtg.

When Brennan searched his library for Captivating Vampire I immediately thought this was a poor choice. No black mana in play or in hand, the next card predetermined to be no land either. In my Edgar Markov Deck I would've gone for Mavren Fein.

Jewled lotus is kinda trash in a 5 colour commander with wburg
its not with the sion trigger though. its a free trigger and a half. he should have activated sion the turn it came down and got an etb dragon if he had one

@@gabrielfiorotto1435 not useless, but it takes up a slot for a very limited benefit. For the cost of JL, you can get a mana crypt which is repeatable mana.

I like how Lynch enjoys all the explosive plays even when they are against him.
On the contrary, the dragon-player became visibly salty when he got knocked out. A different mentality I guess.
Anyways, great episode as always! The overall quality is great and I'm sure that the minor issue with the glare on the cards will be resolved in the future.
Yeah this was an older episode we just now aired. Most episodes will look like 5-7.

@@MovieManiac67 i was thinking the same thing. He needs to add it to a different deck and just run a fellwar stone or something else. Doesn't really help unless Scion has died and can help with CMDR Tax.

I play Scion of the Ur Dragon as well and that is usually how it goes haha. Cannot blame them though, lots of one turn pop offs in the deck. Good game!
Small mistake on lynch's part with the turn he played amulet of vigor
Why take 2 from the land just to tap it to put amulet of vigor he could have just tapped another land for the vigor first and amulet would have untapped the shockland
