Ppl of Reddit and it's mob mentality is being way too hard on Joe. Hope these guys can shake hands and can continue to play at the table, remember Commander isn't a perfect format of course theirs always going to be salt e.i. Mana rocks on opening hand/ infinite combos or teaming

Lynch was the only smart one at the end of the game. They kept mentioning "oh Craterhoof enters tapped though!" like that somehow mattered at all when he had 14 creatures on board lol.

This is before I've seen the game, but i think the rule zero conversation was much better this time and the power levels seem closer to each other. We will see if I'm right. Lol

How do they miss things like that? Even in my least experienced playgroup someone would point that out... Very seldom do people in person make the mistakes I see people making on cam. On this channel I think they're just playing around too much at the expense of the game. I'm over having fun and cracking jokes on each other but if you're clearly missing triggers every game because of it, something needs to change.
@@blaze556922 Because they are filming, which means they are doing audio checks, visual adjustments, and other tech tweaks to make a show rather than just playing a chill game. Also they have said before they go with the authentic friend experience rather than the by the book lgs play to win experience so even if they do catch something like this they keep moving and amend it on future turns if they catch it in time. They have done the occasional rewind we fucked up thing. But, yeah dude I get your point, we just don;t see everything else they are doing off camera to make this happen.
@@samdnelson13 I understand they have other stuff going on but that means the game is actually moving slower than it appears onscreen. Meaning they should have more opportunity to catch any errors. No one is perfect but for everyone at a table to constantly miss triggers isn't okay and is the opposite of the normal experience imo. Didn't mean to come across as overly critical. Love this channel I'm just very attentive and don't even understand how many movies they constantly makes so many mistakes. Know what I mean?

Usually the misplays don’t effect the gameplay too much… but I feel like this one did even with the birds mana available
@@blackneto_ I run a chatterfang deck to and all those triggers and token math can definitely throw one of, I had one player call me out on a long turn but I also ended the game that turn with 40 token sacs that I made that turn all to ashnods altar with zulaport cutthroat on the field but it was a bit of a lead up granted because I had to math out alot along the way how many tokens to make to then sac to cast underworld hermit to again create more tokens to finish it out😂 it was a whole loop and quite a bit of build up but totally worth it considering you essentially threw an army of kamikaze attack squirrels at everyone

Been a fan of this show since the first ep and have been wanting to play commander for years. I finally played my first game of commander yesterday after finally getting a deck built. There was a tournament with prizes at an LGS near me and I won! We even played a few casual games of commander afterwards. Was so much fun. Commander has definitely become my favorite format.
Bounce lands are often included because it allows for two land openers to have 3 Mana plays which is usually the breakpoint of most ramp in precons.
Honestly I still use them in most of my decks instead of other tapped lands cause not losing any land drops is always worth it ...
The more Episodes I watch the more I want to play with you guys with my Kroxa deck :) Keep up the great work and vids. You guys are great content creators. Looking forward to more vids

This gave me some ideas for cards to add to my own Chatterfang deck. I was originally focused on just flooding with low power squirrels and doing some aristocrats shenangins, but now I think I might want to add a few anthems and pump spells to swing earlier with bigger rodents.
I love turn 0 convo. Gives everyone a sense of fairness since everyone knows what their up against.

I feel like recently Joe's decks tend to be a little bit more powerful than the rest of the table, if not more consistent. But these videos are the highlight of my Saturday lunch breaks at work. Keep up the good work guys

Cool Match. I loved that Grist was in the Chatterfang deck, they work so well with each other. As a matter of speaking, i made a Grist insect deck and one of the biggest OG's is chatterfang. Squirrels for days.

Used to play back in HS but haven't played since 05. A friend got me back in and so I'm trying to get settled into Commander. Came here because I'm doing a Chatterfang deck. I'm addicted to your videos.
Dang I haven't even gotten to the gameplay yet, and I'm already thinking about building a Plargg deck myself - the deck sounds sweet! Also, you get to play a character named "Plargg" so that's already pretty cool

I feel like it should be mentioned how cool it is of Alex to let Beky use his decks, I love the idea of trying other people's decks to see different playstyles without investing a ton of money in cards.
I've done a deck rotation in a pod where you choose your deck and then surprise rotate to the left and now get to regret what you've chosen. It's a great way to keep things fresh

The people that worl at my lgs will let people try a deck and there's more than a few people that bring a fair few decks and are more than happy happy let someone like me who only has two a loan to just get a change. Its really fun
Fantastic idea in theory but some grimmey players have sticky fingers, some don't shuffle right, etc. My ocd can't handle things being mistreated. Especially my collectibles that I take a lot of pride in. I've had some sleeves for almost 20 years and they look brand new. I'm not hating on them if that is what they are comfortable with but I don't want my things to end up like that. It's hard keeping things pristine.

Yes to the precon!!! I also always bring a precon so I am able to keep the power level low, and it feels really good if I win with it!
I like precon with modest upgrade. Like mana base a bit and a few low budget synergy cards. Bumps em from 4/10 to 5-6/10, while keeping the theme.

Great episode, it only keeps getting better! Glad you guys are doing the public service with the rule 0 convo each time, for the ppl in the community who have no social skills. Yeah, if you could include links to the guests in the episode, that'd be awesome. Big fan these two, instantly in love when I saw them.
Another improvement would be sound levels, the difference between the intro narrator and the speaking in room is really wide, it's super loud to start.

I've been feeling that way about the sound since the very first episode! At least in editing, PLEASE equalize the volumes of people speaking. Sometimes I can't hear the discussions and then suddenly Joe is laughing and it blows my eardrums!

it really comes down to Joe playing decks that are stronger than the rest of the table.

Well, his deck was the most "fair" and casual battlecruiser-style one. Plarrg was kinda on point but lacking speed. I honestly thought either Kessler or Lych would sneak in the combo while all that stuff was happening.

joe always plays that fair deck that's still dummy powerful. like he's never got that cedh level comboy in there but he's exactly the power level that you need to be either very quick or very comboish to beat. every episode he manages to go brrrrr on the boardstate real good. i'd almost always call his stuff casually competitive.
We need a meme template where Joe knows the heart of the cards will in fact give him the land he needs.

Though at 34:24 Joe can only produce COLORLESS mana by sacc'ing the Eldrazi Spawn Token and Chatterfang's ability requires Black for his Bottom ability.

It was a misplay, but it also thankfully had no impact on the end of the game other than the fact the craterhoof swing would have just been bigger.

It was annoying that Joe got to sit there with tons of tokens and Craterhoof in hand and NO ONE touched him. Like regardless of how Becky attacked Kess, he should've targeted Joe.

Am I drunk, or was joe's whole response (at 33:25) to lynch's beast withins illegal? He cracked an eldrazi scion for a black somehow, and then activated chatterfang a second time in response to the snapcaster mage with zero mana available.
Edit: I see he had the BoP available, so only half was. Misplays happen! It's a shame this one had a larger impact on the game, but I think the world'll keep spinning.
look at his momentary pause, right as he sacks his scion, he knew he couldn't activate it with generic, he had to tap his birds but continued anyway when no one else caught it.

As someone who has made a Chatterfang deck known as the angry forest and it’s true enemies are the blue players in my play ground I’m excited to see joe not only play him but also win with him! One squirrel may not seem scary but an army of them??!!
