The mother in law story....why were people listening to the MIL rather than the actual mother? I mean if someone I know said they were having a boy and their MIL kept saying no, it's a girl, I know it's going to be a girl....and the mother kept saying no, that's not true....pretty sure I'm gonna believe the person actually giving birth
Because they elders on MIL side of the family, aka people who have a long relationship with MIL and nearly know the mother, and many have only once hear the gender from the mother, but hear the gender multiple times from MIL (repeat a liemorten enough and people will belive the lie)
I can only assume this family is very "traditional" and believe in a lot of old wives tales. One old wives tale is that the shape or firmness of the belly tells gender, it doesn't that's why ultrasounds exist. Another is that an experienced mother/ grandmother's have a weird 6th sense about this stuff and can just tell because they have had kids and that somehow translates to a masters in gynecology. It's all just old world bs superstitions that's dying out with every new generation.
Even weirder, you can have a false "it's a girl", but not a false "it's a boy", because depending of the position of the fetus, you can miss the penis, but you can't see the penis and later be like "oh, it was actually a toe" or something like this
Sometimes, if you say something loud enough and long enough , people will start to believe you
Oh, you sweet summer chid.
The mother-in-law sounds crazy, she just doesnât give any consideration to the mother and calls her âchildishâ?!? She is so unhinged, imagine phoning a mother up and SCREAMING at her for⊠dressing her baby in the clothing you had everyone buy?!
I know right
Agree. I feel sorry for the husband, having to be raised by her.
@@amberspencer9846 what makes this funny for me is my nephew, whoâs 3, really enjoys dressing up. His older sisters have a bunch of princess outfits they had when they were smaller. He wears them sometimes, other times heâll wear a smart shirt and a tutu, he just the clothing because itâs colourful, pretty and sparkly, he otherwise couldnât give two shits what the clothing is!
My aunt used to get irritated at my mom for dressing my brother up in my old clothes rather than buying new ones. (The princess footie pajamas were the worst offender in her eyes.)
But letâs be real most kids clothing CAN be considered gender neutral. Itâs only an arbitrary idea attached to certain colors and images, and frankly has no real meaning.

Historically? Pink was masculine and blue was feminine.
And a 100 years ago. Almost all babies and kids were rocking a white dress.
Cause it was easiest to dress and maintain cleanliness
In Japan there is a tradition to dress boys as girls with a belief that it will make them grow strong.
Disclaimer, I'm not Japanese. Just interested
@@Ikajo The US used to do that. Ernest Hemingway was dressed in girl outfits for his toddler years. I will go and confirm your statement to satiate my curiosity.
Edit: it would seem that there is practice of wearing Jinbei, a form of Yukata or Kimono for toddlers and very young children. They are traditionally gender-neutral and are easy to wear around the house or out with family. Keep in mind that modern day Japan more than likely followed Western Ideals and currently dress their children in normal clothing made for their size.
You can see evidence of this in early Disney princesses. They were usually in blue. I've heard the change happened with the Nazis and concentration camps putting gay people in pink triangles and pink became feminine. But I've also heard that's not accurate, so take that with a grain of salt.
@@Cypresssina despite being recent history, I canât find a solid explanation. But the more believable one I found is this: It wasnât a sudden change, it was a trend in fashion for the womenâs liberation movement. I would like to know more, myself.
I honestly don't get the color thing. I do think we should still keep the baby blue and baby pink colors for baby showers but other than that, I don't understand what's a masculine or feminine color. I'm a woman and I love light blue, pink, lavander and other colors.
âSorry but, these are the only clothes we received from the baby shower! We canât just throw the gifts away, and you made SURE that the name and gender were wrong, soooâŠ?â
"We don't have the money to waste on such a foolish and petty demand, mil."
I read OPs posts in both AITAH and here as well it is funny how everything unfolded đ plus there were some clothes that were either sold or donated because it wouldn't be comfortable for the baby
But the way they matched the clothes the baby wore to who was calling was just PERFECT
When my then 24 year old brother and his wife had their son, his MIL made a big deal about not wanting him in "girly" clothes. My mother who had 5 boys of her own gifted the baby a lavender outfit that said "Grandma loves me". My nephew was adorable in it!
That sounds adorable
Okay but what about that is girly? Purple is a gender neutral color.
@@kaylawoodbury2308 The secret is that no color is girly or boyish because colors don't have a gender.
@@DopeioThePhoneBoi Yup: 100 years ago in the US, pink was considered a âmasculineâ color, and all babies wore dresses until boys got their first pair of short pants as a toddler. Color and form have always been societal constructs.
@Dope-io I know and posted a couple replies to people how it's gross to color code babies to advertise their genitals to strangers. That said I at least understand that most people label pink as "girl" and blue as "boy, what I don't understand is why purple is now arbitrarily being added to the "girl" list. Is it the flower name because if so that's extra stupid. You can call a shade of red, rose or a shade of blue, iris but that doesn't suddenly "feminize" the color. It just sounds super insecure which is why I'm confused.

Baby clothes argument is like formula vs breastfeeding. As long as they're clothed and fed nothing else matters.
If baby Roosevelt can rock a baby dress, so can anyone else.
I think its different. There's no difference to the baby if the clothes are male or female. But it's been proven that breastfeeding is the better of both by far.
Again, as long as the baby is fed and nourished and gaining weight, it doesnât matter how itâs parent feeds them. -_- What if their breasts are inflamed from the baby biting? What if they donât have breast milk coming in? What if the parent doesnât have breastsâŠ?

The baby clothes story: It actually reminded me of something my mom has told me several times. When I was a baby my mom would always dress me in pretty dresses, lots of pink, and pretty bows. Yet for some reason this 1 neighbor always asked my mom âhow is _he_ doing?â My mom would always say _âshe_ is doing good!â According to my mom he kept referring to baby me dressed in pink dresses and bows as a _he_ no matter how pink the dress or how big the bow or how many times my mom said I was a girl. It still makes me laugh many years later.
Lol I love how they refer to the babyâs clothes as âmasculineâ, like⊠does anyone view a baby as either âmasculineâ or âfeminineâ? Itâs a potato

A potato - haha. Yes, I get that. Everyone says "Isn't he/she lovely?' Nope - 'it' just sleeps, screams, eats and cr**s and they all look the same anyway. My mother had the right approach to other people's new born babies: "Bring them back when they're two". I can relate to that. By two, they're showing character and you can play with them and make them laugh etc.
I have 2 older brothers and 1 older sister that is just 1 year older than me. Everybody assumed I would be a girl, thinking it would make the perfect 2 boys 2 girls family and that the 2 sisters with a 1 year difference would be the best friends in the world. They didnt make any test, they didnt even think of a boys name. When I popped with the unexpected thing between my legs, they had to think of a name on the fly and my parents didn't even agree. My father had to leave to finish his final exams in another country. He came back like 4 weeks later and was calling me the wrong name and my mother and grandma (who was helping since my father was away) were calling me another name, they finally kept my mothers choice because of it and I'm kind of happy cause my father's choice was really bad. And to be 1 year appart from my sister did make me a man than is not totally clueless about women, which kind of helps.
Jokes on that family that are upset that a baby boy is being dressed in pink: Color theory wise pink is technically a _masculine_ color! Since it's a tint of red, a masculine color. Blue is the feminine color.
Dont matter to me just had my first child. When she gets old enough, and she wants me to wear pink well dammit we wearing it lol
True, in some European countries pink was considered masculine because it was a colour associated with warfare (blood). It's part of the reason the British army worn red historical, It was supposed to be intimidating. That has only really changed in the last 150 years.
It's not like OP's baby will give a hoot anyway. He will probably be about 4 years old before he will care about social conventions.
But it reminds me nothing of the hunt!
Pink used to be masculine for blood & blue was feminine for the virgin Mary

The pension story: If you're a young person and plan to retire at your current job, and you see them letting go elderly for "little reason." GTFO. Many companies in the U.S. toss aside elderly and deny them their retirement.
Why do they do that? Just curious
@@LordIkiTheThird
Cause ppl who do this are greedy scum
How can they do that?
@@DanielLopez-up6os well, there are different types of retirement plans in the US. Some are savings and investment accounts purely under your name and whatever you have saved up will go with you whenever you leave, your job will just stop adding to it from your paycheck and matching it, if they have such a program. These are typically plans like 401k's and IRAs. This is what every young professional I know seems to have. The upside is that there is basically no upper limit to how big the account can get and if there's anything left in it when you die, it will pass to your heirs. The downside is, like a savings account, it will eventually get depleted, so most people work and save until they feel confident the amount in the account(s) will last.
Pension plans, on the other hand, require you to work at the same company for a specific amount of time to qualify for payouts. These are guaranteed payments of some percentage of your final salary for the rest of your life. The downside is that this does not usually pass to your heirs and only benefits them as long as you are alive.
Firing someone just to avoid paying their pensions is, I'm sure, highly illegal but also somewhat difficult to prove.

Funny that sewing is mentioned in one of the stories right out of the gate! That is exactly what I am doing as I listen to this video!! But I have to make a TLDR statement that is interesting if you feel like reading a little, lol.
Sewing is actually an extremely rewarding skill to have as well as EXTREMELY handy. Iâm not talking about simply hand sewing or needlepoint type stuff but rather about machine sewing. Understanding fabrics ranging from cotton and Sunbrella to webbing and leather, pattern making, seam allowance practices, different types of stitches, and specific thread types along with how to correlate them all with using the correct needle and tensions will deliver to you a skill that will serve you a lifetime. I learned to sew when Mom started traveling a lot with my father and wasnât around to fix stuff when she was gone. I had her show me how to sew and then she told me I would promptly be executed if I touched her high end Swiss Bernina sewing machine. She bought me my own used portable Kenmore machine (that was actually a damn good machine) and I started fixing and making all kinds of stuff. Back then if a guy was sewing and wasnât specifically a tailor, you got all the âThatâs a girls thingâ zingers constantly. That is until they saw the stuff I would show up with that I made myself, lol. Custom backpacks, redoing my motorcycle seat with cool heavy duty fabrics, etc. Once I discovered the walking foot machines and bought myself a portable Thompson Mini Walking Foot machine, thatâs when the real cool stuff was getting made. Leather and canvas duffel bags, leather messenger book bags for school, and suddenly a few friends were having me show them how to sew, lol. đ€đđ€
The two manufacturing processes that you encounter or are engaging with literally 24/7 are sewing and welding. These processes are SO present that they have become invisible to ones daily perception of what is present in their immediate surroundings. Folks donât realize that they are in contact with stitches every single day as soon as they get dressed and put on their shoes (notice all the different types of stitches and thread used in your clothing and in your shoes) the same as they encounter something metal that is welded as soon as they walk out the door and grab ahold of the welded wrought iron hand rail mounted into the cement on their front porch. Then they jump into the school bus and there is a welded frame and sewn stitches in every seat. Sewing is one of the primary means of âweldingâ fabrics together but instead of heat and melting metal, itâs stitches with a needle and thread. If you have ever heard the word âtextilesâ, that is the category that sewing lands under. And speaking of under, when the kids get to school and there is a fabric awning covering the front entrance walkway, those awnings are sewn together the same as the tarp covering the boat in the backyard.itâs EVERYWHERE!!!
I started sewing in the 7th grade and now at 56 years old I can honestly say that learning how to sew as a kid was the smartest thing I could have done. Even though I have expertise in a number of different fields ranging from mechanical engagement with light to heavy machinery of through to computer tech method development, the most handy skill I possess that has served me extremely well all my life has been sewing. Today I have two large industrial sewing machines along with a few types of vintage all metal domestic machines from the 1940âs and 1950âs that will outperform ANY plastic throwaway machine made today for straight or zigzag stitching no matter HOW expensive it may be. I have a medium/heavy duty walking foot industrial machine, a vintage Singer 20U33 straight stitch and super wide zigzag industrial machine (probably the most versatile non walking foot machine eager made and this model number vintage is the absolute best version ever produced), a 1952 Pfaff freearm straight/zigzag stitch domestic, a 1949 Pfaff flatbed straight/zigzag stitch domestic, a super powerful early 1970âs Kenmore mini portable that can even stitch through 10 layers of heavy denim or thick non-veg tanned leather, and a few machines as collector/decoration machines from the 1910, 20âs, 30âs, and 40âs. I make my own custom wallets, grill covers, messenger/computer bags that are FAR more heavy duty than would cost probably $700-$1000 if bought in a store. Basically anything I want that is stitched that I canât find in the stores, I make it myself as well as make tons of gifts for family and friends that are always very much treasured since I made them myself.
So the moral or message from the story is this; No matter what direction you head in life be it a laborer on a construction crew, or a lawyer representing that construction laborer in an injury case, learning how to sew will unquestionably raise your own sense of personal confidence and accomplishment the more you engage with the skill to create complex, high quality articles and items. And when you have friends contact you for a little help fixing a ripped or torn item of value to them and you can put it back in their hands as good as new from your sewing skills, it really is a uniquely rewarding feeling. This is going to sound pretty corny, but itâs actually absolutely true. Aside from your career or hobbies including sporting activities, everything becomes a more rewarding long term experience if you know how to sew. There is just something unique about sewing that gives a very different inner boost knowing you can make it or fix it if it has stitches, which is basically a lot of stuff we engage with every single day.
OK, lol. That was long enough!!! But I just had to get that out, LOL!!! đ€đđ»đđđ»đ€

Final story: IANAL but it seems they asked for something completely illegal. Signed, sent and received on the exact date? That's not how it works, there are regulations for meeting terms and "too early" is most definitely not one of them. It would have been even funnier for OP to threaten them with a criminal complaint for attempted fraud.
Here in Germany, you can absolutely cancel a contract the very moment it is agreed upon. E.g. telecom contracts often have a minimum duration of 24 months after which they are automatically extended by some more months. You can cancel the contract immediately, you just have to make sure that either the termination date is correct, i.e. 2 years in the future, or to use a phrase like "at the earliest possible date". (Again, IANAL but this is what I remember from grammar school and it has always worked for me.)
The theoretical term I remember from school is expressed will (or consent). Once consent is *clearly* withdrawn, there's nothing the other party can do about it, other than offering voluntary incentives, of course. But if you e.g. write a wrong date on the cancellation notice, then they may argue that your will is unclear or conflicts with the contract or regulations, and you may have to send another notice and possibly remain party to the contract longer than intended.

My school had a very very strict dress code about it. We made jokes about that rule. It was hilarious. not sure if I should say it here.
I'm retired, yay đ I've worked for a few different companies here in the UK and in Germany and have had bosses that ranged from great to awful. After watching these and similar r/ videos, I've come to realise how lucky I've been. My worst boss seems like an angel compared to some that I've seen described here.
As a man that was put in a dress as a child(my mother put a dress on me that didnât fit my older sister just to see how it would look) I can assure you that it has no long term effects, other than huge embarrassment when your mom shows the picture lol
Lol I was just rping and it got emotional and this is making my day
The " followed everything to the letter" joke đđ€Ł
That second story, I'd take the 92k offer even if the original team countered with 93k. I'd rather a job that sees and pays you what they see as your worth right from the start rather than a job where you'd have to send out your resume *every* time you want a raise because they'll obviously try to lowball your worth.
Man I LOVE that 30 day notice malicious compliance;so creative!
My niece loves wearing girly clothes and girly things. She often pairs them with animal knee socks and high tops, but that's her signature look.
Hey rslash. I just want to say I'm so grateful for your videos. I'm in the hospital battling covid and you just gave me a few minutes not to think about it so thank you so much â€ïžâ€ïžâ€ïž
hope u get better :)
I hope that you make a full recovery đâ€

The bleep from the "I don't give a f**k!" Made me diiiiiiiie. So hilarious đ€Łđ€Łđ
the shoulders are the best part XD
For some people, it is the neckline. Saw that in an Amish documentary.
Rslash: Makes fun of shoulder fetish
Meanwhile me: has said fetish
Rslash talking about being a new father makes me scream internally but... happy scream.
Congratz Rslash and Mrs.Rslash!
That comment about the shoulders just threw me back into highschool with our horrendous principal with huge double standards.

From one to two years old babies don't care about clothes. In fact, at two years old my second nephew preferred to be naked. We had the Devil's time making him keep his clothes on and he really hated shoes until he was about three. I found it hilarious of course as my SIL and Bro were into the latest fashion crap and were buying the kid clothes that were way too expensive for something to be worn for just a few months. I really thought they learned their lesson the first time. Silly me.
All the babies Ive known at that age, prefer to be naked and are willing to fight to stay that way
Good morning everyone stay safe and enjoy your day â€ïž
Also remember you are doing great đ
I have to admit i love it when he cuts himself off at the end! He does his own editing!
Well damn thatâs well done OP
Story 1: I'd badly sew the uniform with goodwill sheets.
I can sew and i make decent cosplays and alt fashion stuff. But noone and i mean NOONE is gonna tell me what to sew unless they're paying me.
As a boy when I was in high school nothing would turn me on like the sight of a boy's shoulders.
I was brought to my parents in a blue blanket. My grandma was excited thinking she had a grandson, then everyone was told I was a girl. Don't worry grandma was nothing like the MIL, she in fact was my favorite grandparent and I was her favorite grand kid. She passed away a few years ago. I miss her all the time. (i'm getting teary just thinking of her now....)
And blue is my favorite color as well.

This is a good video to remind people that HR isn't here to protect employees from the company, they are there to protect the company from employees who are mad about the companies BS.
I figured the first guy was going to walk away his patents.
Happy 4th of July to those in the States!đșđČ
"why didn't you give me a raise"
he never asked
Rslash hitting us again with his dad jokes
I will never understand why people are so obsessed with infantsâ downstairs equipment. Itâs so uncomfortable
Somebody should investigate that company for trying to get their older employees who earned their pensions well before turning 60 fired before they can collect it. That is too dirty to ignore or let slide any further.
That's an extremely common practice. Lots of companies that offer retirement or pension benefits either put ridiculous stipulations on qualifying or look for ways to not pay out. There not much anyone can do about it, welcome to the joys of Capitalism.
2nd to last story: I feel bad for that kid. Heâs gonna be embarrassed as all hell when he grows up.
Not shoulders. She was showing ankles.đ€Łđ€Łđ€Łđ€Ł
Every time I listen to rSlash I'm getting more and more convinced there's no lower limit for stupidity.
No. It wasnât the shoulders, it was those darn ankles!!!
Was about to say is this the 1800's cause dayum those ankles.
12:32 âFrom Papyrus to Jokerman to Comic Sansâ

Brain: SAY IT
OMG ITS JOKER FROM BATMAN!
The teacher didn't say anything about wearing sock so she was probably showing her ankles!
Believe me, the kid will absolutely care about the clothes when his parents inevitably tell this story to people when he's older.
Only if he was raised to be toxic like you. Color doesn't have a gender and it's gross that people use a damn piece of colored fabric to advertise their babies genitals to strangers. God forbid this kid isn't going to be raised to be an insecure douchebag that's going to push other kids around because "daddy told me pink is for sissies". That' kind of bs is not inherent, it's TAUGHT. If that kid ends up embarrassed by this story it would be because of someone like you teaching him that he should feel shame over something so inconsequential as the color of his baby clothes...
@@kaylawoodbury2308 That you think anything about that was "toxic," and the fact you use the term toxic unironically, tells me everything I need to know about why I don't have to care about your opinion.
Fun fact: it was common practice to dress both boys and girls in dresses from 1850 to 1910. So really, those parents are just fallowing tradition
I'm pretty sure that first story would've been a textbook wrongful dismissal claim.
LMAO... the last story was insane. I'm gonna adopt this strategy next time I'm handling an insane landlord.
1st story: In a lot of countries demanding that the women wear uniforms but not the men would count as discrimination. Also whats up with asking her to do extra work but not paying for it?!
Getting rid of somebody before their pension definately happened in America!
do any of yall think we'll one day have "And this is rSlash Baby Bloopers"?
wait Rslash is a DAD?!?
The story about the new parents with the crazy mother in law makes me so uncomfortable
One, who cares if the baby is a girl? You should treat all your grandkids the same. And you never know if those kids are going to discover they feel differently later, so what is the point of making a big deal out of it?
And the elders being upset about the babies color scheme? Who cares??? Itâs disgusting that some people still see things in terms of pink and blue.
I feel bad for all these grandkids, theyâre gonna have some awful gender roles imposed on them by their extended family (if not by their parents)
Bro, America is the ONLY place I've heard where an employer can get away with demanding employees make/buy their own uniform.
