  • This Step by Step Small Animal Hammock DIY is not as hard to make as it seems. My ferrets love the teepee style hammock. They got in it before I could even get it fully hung in their cage. I have included a list of materials and measurements below, along with links to some of the materials used to make this small animal hammock.
If you don’t sew and would like to purchase a teepee hammock or other small animal hammock, toys or cage liners, stop by FerretTails on Etsy. Teepee hammocks will be added to the shop after January 1st 2021. www.etsy.com/shop/FerretTails

I have already done one of your ferret cave bed DIY, this is next. Such a cute idea. Ps I use a stand fan facing to make my circle it was exactly 18". Plus I have the exact circle cover you used in this DIY. My two ferret babies are two and they are just so much fun, I love them so much!

It’s a bit thick to sew, but if you go slow it should be ok. Making the cone template was the hardest part for me, but if you have any questions just let me know!

Can we make this without fusible fleece? Is there an alternative we can use?

Hi, you can use batting in place of fusible fleece. I put the information for the batting in the description. I would get the thicker batting or if you get the thinner one you may want to double it, just to make sure it holds its shape. I have also heard of people use Uhaul padding as a stabilizer. I think it would work great, but it would be really thick and could get hard to sew through depending on the sewing machine.
