I FOUND THIS FOREVER AGO AND IT TOOK ME THREE DAYS TO FIND IT AGAIN BECAUSE I HAVE A SEWING MACHINE NOW AND CAN FINALLY MAKE IT FOR MY GLIDERS. Sorry for shouting but it's such a cute hammock and I was dying to find it again

My girls (four rats) used to adore the one they had. USED TO. That was before butterscotch ( my sisters rat) chewed it to abseloutely nothing! They loved it for the time being though 😊💞💕

Thanks for this! I have a little guy and I've made hammocks out of the back pocket of a pair of jeans and just put fleece on the back. This one looks a lot more finished. Now to find a rat cube tutorial!

Good video ~ I have 11 rats that are all rescues and a bunny who all love to have hammocks.. Our local shelter just got to cases with over 200 rats of all ages looking for homes so I am going to make some of these to drop off .. Thanks again

This video was great! I would like to say a huge thank you, I have only just started making my own cage accessories for my ferret Alice and I have just finished making one of these hammocks for her! There are a few rough edges here and there but it turned out much better than I expected and I love it! Just made this today as my first sewing (I don’t think a little fabric bag 6 years ago counts 😂), turned out a little weird because the soft kept stretching as I was sewing and at the end it wasn’t really that smooth but they LOVE it!

Hey, this is Phantom from the RatForum. That turned out awesome! I've never made a double decker hammock before so I'll definetely have to try that. I do know how to use grommets though. If you like I can try putting up a video on how to use them in the near future. They are super simple to use, and they are very handy if you have rats like mine who chew their hammocks. =P

Mr SammyHam Mr SammyHam I am so sorry for your loss,😔my hamster kiwi passed away last year and it was hard for me to recover from it since I had her for a while. Lol my sister had that happen too! She was making a tunnel out of felt for her guinea pigs and it didn't turn out as she would have liked..it sagged and those little nuggets used it as a bed instead 😂

Big safety pins work great for hammocks! (:
My rats chew everything so I would never trust mine with safety pins! They have a hammock similar to this and they even chew through the fleece loops holding it on!
Sherry M Yikes...my rat's only chew what they're supposed to thankfully.
Sherry M My rats used to chew on their fabric too. I put 4 kabob skewers, 3 of those bendable log bridges and 2 wood houses and finally they chew on those and leave their beds alone!

one thing you can do to hang it is sew the little loops of fleece in when you first turn it into a tube and when you sew the fold in!

Do these work for guinea pigs? I know you said that it works for small animals, but my guinea pigs are... let's just say large. Do I just have to use bigger measurements? Great video by the way!

so you take a pillowcase and you fold it. then on the longer side and the back short side, you sew it. then you tie it up and youre done.

Hi, thanks for the video. I tried this and i only used fleece, i had the fluffy side on the inside first, but then i put it on the outside so now i have a not so fluffy hammock. btw you have some fluffy and adorable rats!
