Thank you for this awesome tutorial! I have used it with a group of high school students to teach them how to sew and then sell them to rat lovers in our school as a fundraiser for the end of the school-year class trip. For those who asked about what rings to use, I bought the thin metal shower curtain rings that are pear-shaped and open and close via a pinch clip. You can add more, if needed, to attach to a farther distance and they are more versatile for attaching to a variety of cage bars and sizes. They will not break as easily as plastic and hold up better if chewed on. Finally, they are less expensive and easier to find than the plastic rings used in the tutorial.
This is still my go-to tutorial and all of my boys love this kind of hammocks, from tiny baby to elderly chonk. It's so easy and fun to use different prints and colors. Thank you for this video from the mischief and me! 🐁🐀🐁🐀🐁
I'm glad this helped you out 😊 my rats absolutely love this hammock style! Good luck, and feel free to send me a message on instagram @diypetslife if you have any questions 💚

@@clairebear787 aaah thank YOU so much!! 💚 I hope you'll have some ratties again soon, they're such lovely pets 🥰 send me some pictures when you have them! 😊💚
Good of you to think of that! I would definitely say it's recommended to go bpa free. If you notice your rats/pets chew plastic often though, I would recommend looking into metal clips and chains instead. Hope this helps! 💚
Hey Victoria, the tool I'm using is the 'Fiskars 2in1 ruler and rotary cutter'. It might seem a bit expensive but for me it's 100% worth it! It makes cutting fabric for hammocks so easy and quick. Very clean and straight cuts, which help for a professional result 😊 Hope this helped out a bit!

Can you use any plastic chains or is there a specific type of plastic that’s more pet safe, like bpa free or something?

What cutting tool are you using, is it just a regular paper cutter? I have such a small space to work with, it looks promising and helpful!

Thank you so much! 💚
I used rings for a shower curtain, I got these in Ikea. They're inexpensive and are very easy to work with imo 😊
