    I'm aware this looks like it's filmed on a potato, I accidentally filmed it on the wrong settings oops. I'd usually refilm it when that happens, but I wanted my reactions to the cages / pictures to be genuine so I kept it, but it's still annoying me, sorry!

Pikachu loves it he digs multi chamber burrows and tunnels. you do need to let the soil dry up a bit and you can water the grass with a mist bottle. I want to build him a bigger one. and before I get hate, He dose have a whole other box connected with the plastic tubes to another box that is all bedding.. its two diy big enclosures the biggest plastic ones. =)

    I am someone who really enjoys native aquariums (diff than hamsters for sure but, related lol) and the big issue with it is that it isn't really a true environment for the fish unless they're native fish too. Another issue is realistically I would probably only use this for bait fish unless there was a wild specimen I caught and couldn't release back or eat. Because honestly going thru all the work to make the tank native and maybe some naturalized stuff feels superficial if not for the creatures enjoying it

    These enclosures look great, but the enclosures with the lights worry me. Mice are excellent climbers and chewers and nobody can monitor their mice all day every day.
    Please guys, do not put electricity inside the enclosure.

    How would you setup a blind rat and his friend.

    • @Emiology
      @Emiology  Před 2 lety

      I have a blind rat and I set the cage up just like for the others. He’s good at using his other senses to get around, I keep the free roam all in the same place so he doesn’t get confused though!

    Does naturalistic mean you don't need to clean them and they also smell more or?

    • @Emiology
      @Emiology  Před 4 lety +3

      You still need to clean them, it’s just how it looks. Bioactive enclosures are the ones you don’t need to clean

    hello! a new rat parent and ive been a bit nervous about feeding so if anyone could answer my question itd help a bunch.
    i was planning on having a feeding schedule where id make a home made dry mix and fruit/veggie mix which id switch day to day

      Use a lab block instead. Homemade mixes aren't nutritionally complete which is very important for rats. Lab blocks are kibble, makes sure the rat is eating all of it and not just picking out its favorite. Oxbow and Mazuri are great, if you're outside the US a good brand is Science Selective.
