- Changing a trailing arm mount seems like it would be pretty easy with the belly pan off, but we take the hard way and do it with minimal disassembly. Plus some tune ups and test hits!

I am ready for spring. Then I watched your video. You get me motivated to work
On my sled projects.
We're going to try to do sleds all Summer.
Such a bummer winter…glad y’all are still getting after it #cleanthecarbs 🤘🏼🔥💪🏻
Love the TXLs, first run in with one i was 12, had a John Deere cyclone 440, neighbor guy brought home a 81 txl indy, I thought as a 12 yr old I was gonna blow the doors off that thing with my big 440 lol man all I seen was snow dust and he was gone!! I swear that sled did all of 90 to 100 mph.. been in love with em ever since, I'm 41 😂
I saw the adds for the 1980 TXL Indy in the Fall of 1979 and I have never been the same :)
Good job guys. You will get it running good.
Thanks.
Looks great guys nice work...cant wait to see it with the tunnel decal to match the seat
Us too!
Also, I freaking love you guys
hey, also I’ve been watching you since day one and yes CZcams, hands-down is unsubscribing you and there’s no pattern.
Put it politely I’m upset about it
Thanks for letting us know.
Hey John , i like your videos cause that very instructive , and i remember your 650 it's awesome, that 's why i have the same machine 😂 , and i hope for a futur next episode to saw rebuilt your Ultra 96 😊great job guys
Thanks! I want to get to the Ultra as well and for sure it will get done by next season.
I live in the lake champlain Islands of Vermont. We had some snow. I ride about 250 miles three rides. The trails are now closed for the year! Glad to see you are still bringing the snowmobile content
Thanks!
Definitely the least amount of rivets to deal with only doing the bottom piece of the footrest assembly only. Nice work on the nose pan too, patience and the porta power sure go a long way! Should move the temp gauge to between the speedo and tach, otherwise looking great for something that was destined for the scrap pile, good survivor now indeed.
Thanks!
Another great video. I hope to see sled videos all summer. Great learning .
We're going to try!
hey Nutter boys, you should’ve removed the whole foot rest
There’s less rivets, holding the whole complete foot rest in place then there is in that little bracket you removed. I was taught that 30 years ago when that machine was new.
we though about doing it that way.
yeah, it comes factory altogether. I’ve had to do it twice but one thing for sure. It’s a hell of a lot easier that way.
Keep up the awesome content very informative step by step on how to fix all the problems
Thanks, will do!
10-32 machine screws fit 3/16 rivet holes tight
I just love the gen 1 Indy! I have a 1986 Indy 600 now has a 650 extra 10 1994 xcr front, love it fellas nice job!
Thanks!
Needs the stock 500 pipe
bring it over to mercer we got snow last night! welcome back Lonny
Snowing here right now, but it won't amount to anything,
Another great episode fellas, but would it kill ya to work on a skidoo once in a while 😂
We might do a Ski Doo project with Greg some time.
Cheers guys 🍻
Brad with a sleeveless t shirt in March! Ridiculous!
I say keep the TXL pipe, I don’t think that’s the bog issue, you’re likely right about it being the clutch and unhealthy motor I’m thinking
Clean the carbs 🍻🍻🍻
That clutch is junk, but we will get that and the motor freshened up over the Summer and I'm sure it will be a ripper when we are done.
The TXL pipe sounds too good to lose. And we know it works great on Lonnie's TX (L) .
Like you were saying, it’s too bad you guys didn’t try a different clutch on there just to prove it out🤷🏻♂️. Even the one off the Grape Ape or Walnuts would have been good
Cheers 🍻
Trying to make my 85 indy 400 to 500. Having a hard time finding the chrome moly rings. Do you have a good source
You could try Dr Mario. He's surprised me many times with what he gets into his stock
What’s that vacuum on the bucket contraption?
It's called a "Bucket Head". I got it at Home Depot.
You guys are a bad influence. After watching a bunch of your vids, I have now bought a 98 classic touring 500 to refurb.
Awesome!
great fix video thanks .
Thanks for watching!
