When I was a teenager in the early 80's these friends of mine had a '72 440 Puma, it was always finicky and hard to start warm- in retrospect why it even ran is beside me- the older brother they got it handed down from had "free aired" it by removing the cylinder tins and the fan belt. Even though the fins pointed the wrong way and there were no forward facing vents in the hood. I'm sure that Kawasaki needed seals and who knows what else. When it did run it flew, but talk about a squirelly machine to go straight on!
