@jrcook927 thanks! I used a set of early jeep springs and a narrow track dana 30 front. I to flip the perches 180 and rewelded.
Small block should fit without too many modifications.

i did not, who ever swapped the engine pulled the original harness out and made their own and never added on

I love watching these old Sears tractors being brought back to life!! I've got 3 of them and I use them all the time.
When I was a teenager in the early 80's these friends of mine had a '72 440 Puma, it was always finicky and hard to start warm- in retrospect why it even ran is beside me- the older brother they got it handed down from had "free aired" it by removing the cylinder tins and the fan belt. Even though the fins pointed the wrong way and there were no forward facing vents in the hood. I'm sure that Kawasaki needed seals and who knows what else. When it did run it flew, but talk about a squirelly machine to go straight on!

I used dual output fuel pump on single carb. Got a 1/4 vacuum cap to plug second outlet. Cap not made for fuel. Would have to replace yearly
Yes it seems to work pretty good ! I just got a foreign object in the line with a hose clamp for now on the output I am not using.
Love that old hood style. Similar to the hood on my 70s arctic cat 303 wankle!

1981 jag 4000. I’m 48 and that was my first sled. Ended up buying a mint one and it sits in my man cave. If you had one you know what I’m talking about 🏆🏆

The compression is good. At between 50 and 70+ when cranking it. It’s has a compression release. So you are good. When it’s running the compression will be higher. Good job gettiner going 👍
