@Blaze Owen thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site thru google and Im trying it out atm.
Seems to take quite some time so I will get back to you later with my results.
Foley made the right decision to come back, he got the Mania main event he deserved and the payday put his kids through college
None of those should be the purpose of a WrestleMania main event, and that’s a big reason this was a lackluster Mania.
And embarrassed the hell out of himself in the process
Me too I just love listening and reminiscing about the wwf past
The Kat vs Terri Runnels was the only singles match on the Wrestlemania card. LOL.
I saw this WM live (I was a kid when I saw this) and I thought it was amazing but I watched it again few years later and it's awful. Triangle ladder match was awesome and the best match of the card. Triple threat match for the IC/European title was good but it wasn't great. If they gave them more minutes it would've been better. Other matches on the card were garbage. Triple H vs The Rock should've been the main event match. Adding Big Show and Mick Foley really killed it.
I still don't understand why they added Show and Foley, neither played a part in the finish and if I remember correctly, Big Show was eliminated in like five minutes
Miles Highson I think it was literally just to have a McMahon in every corner.
Skip Bayless you dont understand wrestling is scripted entertainment
The matches are not real
Its scripted
Watch it for the entertainment
Not to see fake fighting
tazno2 No shit it's scripted and I watch it because it's entertainment and nothing else.
This is one I like I saw it live I loved the 4 way
Also, what’s up with Anaheim getting 2 wrestlemanias in four years? 12 and 16. Vince loves that West Coast.
Lita was rumored to make her wrestling debut here in a fatal 4 way womens match but the match got scrapped when Luna got suspended so they gave the womens belt to stephanie and scrapped the match. Sucks because Lita only had 1 wrestle mania match, and Jackie never had one. Lita was also rumored to wrestle Trish in 2005 at wrestle mania 21 but she was injured.
It was my favourite one although I am bias as it was also the only one I attended
I hate that stupid main event to this day. The Main should've been Triple H defending against The Rock with Rocky winning clean.
It should have been what happened at Backlash next month. Still do the McMahon turn, but have a Austin come out to save The Rock and help him win the title.
These are great do u guys do a wrestling podcast?
It was a fatal four-way elimination match. Not just a regular fatal four-way. It came down to rock versus HHH at the end.🎉. I believe they should’ve had Mick Foley go down to the end, but it is what it is. I’m one of the people that actually likes this main event. plus this we had TLC number one at this mania
I wonder if it would have been a heel Austin vs babyface Rock the rematch from Wrestlemania xv with the roles reserved as was rumoured
+ToxicTootieSocks One I doubt it because of how hot Austin was at the time, but I would have guessed if Austin's neck wasn't screwed up it would have been a Triple Threat match between Austin, Rock, and Triple H.
+ToxicTootieSocks One I read that Vince wanted Austin V Big Show, rehashing Wrestlemania 3!
+ToxicTootieSocks One Yes that was the original WM main event, it was confirmed in the November 7 1999 PWTorch. They might have had Austin turn afterwards.
+j-dub productions They cancelled that around mid '99 because Show wasn't getting over like they thought he would've, they paired him with the Undertaker which was eventually going to lead to a match between them. The gave him a title reign so Triple H could have his feud with Vince and there was no one else to give it to at the time.
The finish to backlash is what i thought would happen at the end of the fatal 4way.I guess hhh got in vince ear HEY VINCE NO HEEL AS EVER WON THE MAIN EVENT AT MANIA LETS DO THIS!!!!
lol its funny cause its true
I also heard that Austin wasn't quite ready to be back yet. If you remember he did the run in the Backlash match. But yeah Triple H got in his ear I'm sure lol
@@QuackMamba34 He did, and story goes this was exactly why they did what they did. They wanted him in the big match and he wasn't ready yet, so they pushed it back a month.
Was The Rock's feet hitting the floor at the Royal Rumble a legit botch?
wwfwrestlingfan4ever I'm almost positive it was a botch. I don't think Rock was supposed to touch the ground at all. But they could have just ignored it.
Sean Cone I've heard rumors Big Show had a guaranteed Wrestlemania main event in his contract somehow
wwfwrestlingfan4ever seriously you are talking about fake fights as if it's real
Get a life
@@Tazno98 shut the fuck up bitch
The match ain't a classic but I like it
It wasn't that triple h was over pushed, it was that people tuned in to see him get beat down. Once he kept beating Foley he got stale AF
Once HHH beat Foley everyone wanted to see Rock beat HHH. And they definitely pushed HHH a lot. So much so that he started getting over later in the year.
I always thought Rock lost because who was he going to up against afterwards if he beats HHH. Angle and Benoit weren't ready yet, Jericho was a face, Big Show is Big Show, Taker and Austin and Foley were out...
Still doesn't explain why he had to lose three times in a row at Wrestlemania in the main event for the WWE Title he lost in 1999,2000,2001 and 2013 which sounds like a lot backstage politics to me and insecurity from some wrestlers who didn't want to put him once at that event.
@@jackwei22 Seems like insecurity on you're part to me. It's understandable why he lost in 99 and 01. 01 he was leaving for Hollywood. In 99 face always went over at WM until 00. 00 backstage politics could have played a factor but I doubt the plan was to make sure Rock lost 3 times in a row.
@@blueblur2329 Still doesn't explain besides Austin the other mega draw box office in the WWF at the time didn't go over at even one Wrestlemania main event for the belt.
@@jackwei22 After 01 he started doing films so he was no longer there full time and they were using the belt to build new stars like Jericho etc. And before Rock left for the movies he won the belt more than anyone in the WWF at the time including Austin and HHH.
@@blueblur2329 He drew them big bucks like Austin and was box office in 2000 he should've won at Wrestlemania or WM 17 and drop it at the RAW the night after he broke PPV records and gates set by Austin 2000 yet others are more worthy of a WM belt main event than him as he deserved to do it at least once.
Based on Wrestlemania standards that 4 way main event sucked. Triple H and Rock should of had the match 1 on 1 could of been an all timer.
Exactly, if they had just had the match HHH and Rock at Backlash take place at Wrestlemania 2000 instead, it would’ve been much more memorable. It’s odd because 2000 had absolute awesome PPVs all year for the WWF, and it’s ironic that the most underwhelming one was Mania
'ya know'... no thats why he is asking!
