  • Marika Rökk (vocal) with Orchestra, conducted by Frank Fux. Recorded in Berlin in 1940.
The song was written by Peter Kreuder (music) and Günther Schwenn (lyrics) for the 1940 German UFA Musical Picture "Kora Terry", starring Marika Rökk (who sang the song in the film) playing a double role and Will Quadflieg. Here's the gorgeous film scene: • Marika Rökk - Für eine...

She resumed her career in 1947 and was one of Europe's most famous operetta singers, performing onstage until 1986."

This TELEFUNKEN record is played on an Electrola table top Gramophone, model 130 from ca. 1930!
I'm sorry for the bad quality of the record - obviously loved and heard a lot!

I loved the Schuricke/Berking version you uploaded some time ago, but this peppy, witty rendition is great too! Both the virtuosic vocalist and the energetic, swinging orchestra accompaniment are outstanding. Thanks a lot Julian for sharing :-)
