"1589" tells the story of Peter Stump, who lived near Cologne, Germany in the 16th century and is known today as the "Werewolf of Bedburg". After being defamed as a werewolf, the farmer confessed to several murders under torture, and was cruelly executed on October 31, 1589. This morbid story has fascinated people all over the world ever since and has been picked up by National Geographic, among others.

The torture was brutal
If I' remember correct to add some more detail is that he was caught while trying to kill a young girl of the village, this being after several weeks of young girls and woman disappearing hence the accusation of being a werewolf, in fact some researchers think Pete might have suffered from a very rare mental disorder that can make one act feral that might have been the cause for his attack if indeed he was guilty to all the attacks he confessed to.

If there's one thing that no one can deny, it's that this band is one of the best in the world. Seriously, every song they make is automatically a banger, or even a masterpiece. They clearly cannot disappoint us! Powerwolf forever! 🙏🐺
Well, Powerwolf is a really good band, though all their songs sound almost the same and are very repetitive. However, this one is kinda different, and that's really good

@@ryeofthebeholder I do listen to a lot of different bands, and I can sure say that powerwolf is one of those with the most repetitive and least innovative style. Yes, their songs are good, but the experience of listening to one album or another is never different enough. It's a band which I can get tired of really easly.

@@jonhprime777 Not proven. The case is not entirely reconstructeble and such cases at that time in Germany where seldom fair. They were searching for a scapegoat. But even if he was guilty, nobody deserves to be totured to death. (It was really gruesome, searching at your own risk)
@@The_Dying_Rose According to wikipedia, dude killed 16 people, mainly children and pregnant women. When confronted, he claimed to have made a deal with the devil to turn into a werewolf. He was also spotted by people when about to commit his last murder when they cut off his hand, which maide it pretty easy to identify him afterward. The dude was most certainly mentally ill, although he might not have done everything he said considering the violence of the torture methods of the time, you could make anyone admit whatever you wanted.

If only there was a love button on YT! I AM OBSESSED WITH THIS SONG!! A few years ago I delved into the Werewolf Trials and researched it to the point of exhaustion. The story telling in this video is so majestic and compelling. I can only hope those poor souls who were incorrectly convicted and sentence can have their paradise, as well as vengeance on those who took it. It's a eye opener into just how easy it is to distort peoples views, and whip them up into something akin to the 'monsters' they're attacking.
