- My long time viewers that have been following along for some time will be asking questions about the different house shown at the start of the video. Well, I've just upgraded to a bigger residence🎉. I'm still waiting for most of my new furniture to arrive, so that's why it looks a bit sparse in places. It's good, though, much more space compared to my old unit. I'm going to keep the unit and it will become a rental. And I will be a good landlord! Ok, back to the cleanup…so…some of you will probably remember this property because I've already done 5 episodes here. Back then I decided not to clean up the backyard and some of the front as it was just too crazy. Well, I've had a change of heart, and I'm back to finish off the whole lot. And when I say this yard is crazy, I mean CRAZY! It's full of blackberries, rubbish, old trees and what's left of the garden beds. To get this property back up to scratch, I would say it going to be quite a few episodes. I'm going to do the best I can here, as the homeowner really needs the help. I'm also going to go back over the work I've done, as I could have done better! I hope you enjoy the episode and stay tuned for the biggest transformation I've ever done - What a challenge! All up, I spent around 12 hours on this episode, including 4 trips to the landfill. This is episode 6 of who knows how many episodes. I still have the side and front to go!

Q: Where are you located?
A: I am from Hobart, Tasmania, Australia 🦘.
Q: Do you worry about snakes?
A: I have never even seen a snake in over 5 years on the job.
Q: Which equipment do you use?
A: Mostly STIHL power equipment (battery and petrol) and commercial Honda self-propelled mowers.
Q: How much do the jobs cost?
A: Sorry, I prefer not to talk about costs.
Q: Why don't you use tarps instead of bins?
A: Tarps are too difficult to move through small spaces and lift into the trailer. The same for wheelbarrows, they are only good for unloading the trailer!
Q: Why are the hot water cylinders outside?
A: I would say it's because Australia had a temperate to tropical climate, and therefore it doesn't matter that much if they are outdoors. To me, though, it seems a bit inefficient to have them outside in Tasmania with a temperate climate (coldish for 3 - 4 months per year). But that is industry standard down here 🤷♂️.
Q: Why don't you have help?
A: I've had many problems with employees in the past, so now I work alone.
Q: Why don't you have a ride-on mower?
A: Well, there are a few reasons.
1. I don't have the right trailer for a ride on, considering I always take away the green waste.
2. I don't have anywhere to store it, as my shed is too small.
3. A lot of the properties we do have fences and gates, so you can't actually get a ride-on on to the properties.
4. I don't do enough big jobs to justify spending 15k AUD on a stander, but it would be nice to have one!
5. I will get one as soon as my transport and storage problems are solved.
Q: What types of ladders do you use?
A: The large one is a Gorilla Adjustable Platform 150kg and the small one is a Gorilla Mighty 19. They are both adjustable.
Q: Who/what is Jim's Mowing?
A: Jim's Mowing is a franchise business. The Jim's Group is the biggest home services franchise in Australia.
Q: Why do you have 2 channels that seem the same?
A: Quick Cuts (my original channel) has music in the background. Quick Cuts V2 is for those that like just machine noise, and it doesn't have music.

I’m a 67 year old mother of 7 grandmother of 5 married for 49 years and my kids make fun of me for watching George’s channel. I tell them if I watch on Saturday morning he motivates me to get moving and get something done. If I watch him at night it relaxes me and helps me sleep. Don’t knock it until you try it. Your home and lawn are exactly like I imagine it by watching all your videos. Tidy and minimalist so it's easy to clean and maintain. I really want to decor my house like that (except with a bit greenery in decor) unfortunately my husband is some kind of hoarder. It's hard to keep up with that habit, sometimes I have to secretly dump things that he forget he kept! 😅

And so the mini-series continues! I have never seen brush that thickly and densely compacted! When you "found" that little cave in the middle I was on pins and needles. I thought something might be living in there or worse, something might have died in there. I know you initially said "NO!" to doing that back yard but this whole driveway, front yard and now back yard have been the best on your channel! Thanks, George, for taking this on! Fun to see how you live in your home. Very tidy. May I suggest a plant or two, some art work and a few knickknacks.
hahaha, the more plants, then more work. I've got so much general maintenance to do before I start planting. Fix fences, paint fences, fix lawn (front and back), power wash the drive and back area, re-point a few areas, clean and power wash the gutters. Build privacy screens, plant privacy trees out the back....It's never ending 😂
I think George has had enough of plants by the time he gets home 😅
I can recommend blackberries as a privacy screen. They also work to keep out intruders 😅@@QCV2
