I found this property by a random encounter and decided I would go ahead and take the side quest lol
kind of feels like a video game " YOU GOOD SIR. IF YOU SO CHOOSE TO PAR TAKE IN THIS QUEST!"
I'm kidding but this was 100% completely by chance that I would meet someone that would lead me to Larry's property.
I ended up speaking to Larry of camera for about 2 or 3 hour after the job. He is such a good guy and I am really glad that I had the opportunity to meet him. I get very inspired went I meet people that are as kind as he is. While I was at his house he was telling me about how he got sick and ended up in the hospital for months. Then when he got home he was taken back at how his house had been robbed of everything of value and was being lived in. he talked about how he had to clean up drug needles that were laying all over the house.
He ran a small automotive shop out of his garage for extra income and all of his tools and even cars that he had been working on were stolen.
While he was telling me this story he introduced me to a man that he took off of the streets this winter when the area was reaching record low temp well in to the negatives. The way Larry told me really stood out to me. He didn't say it in a way as of he were looking for a complement about his character. This was different. you could tell that he had don't this many many times over the years and that He had no desire for recognition in any way. this reminds me of Mark 12:42 - 44 Then a poor widow came and put in two very small copper coins, worth less than a penny. Jesus called his followers to him and said, “This poor widow put in only two small coins. But the truth is, she gave more than all those rich people. They have plenty, and they gave only what they did not need.
Larry has many attributes and is in many ways the type of man that I aspire to be. I do not feel that the works that I do will buy me a place in heaven. I do not want a pat on the back and I honestly could care less about recognition.
I am constantly torn by the career that I have. It can feel odd that I am filming acts of kindness and honestly the better the video does the better is for me. This is often weaponized against me and other creators that are similar to myself...which sucks.
however for every person that is negative about the work that I do there are 100 that realize that through our videos we are able to help so many people. I would never have been able to do a fraction of what I do for others on and off camera without the support of our viewers. I love what I do, helping people, and I love entertaining / inspiring others. So I want to thank you for watching our videos and supporting the channel. when you do that you are helping to fund our community donation work. I honestly never imagined social media really being able to be used as a tool to do this type of charity work for people. even after several years in this it still blows my mind. I want you to remember that by watching the videos and leaving a comment you are doing just as much as I am. there would me no lawn care juggernaut, the boring channel or any other free lawn care channel without you. myself and other creator can go out and do the work but you are what really keeps it going.

Is anyone helping this gentleman to get back to living his life? I hope someone is donating him some inside cleanup and replacements. I have a hard time dealing with the thieves, and it is so hard to forgive them, but the bible says we must not judge others. But my heart really goes out to the gentleman. I wish I could help, but I'm on a limited income and have no way of helping. If I lived in the area, I would gladly help clean up. Thank you, Kevin, for what you do. You are a good man with a kind soul.
I feel so bad for him. To have your home taken over and your things stolen while your in the hospital is just heartbreaking. You definitely were a godsend to help him with his yard. Hopefully; an organization can help him with the inside.

I know you're trying to be helpful but the guy needs to search out help himself. If someone reports his conditions then he will lose his home and be forcibly moved out. He may even lose his rights to make decisions for himself. He said himself he's trying to sell the house so that he can move into a senior community. Don't get in his way.

It's not getting in anyone's way to offer advice on how to get help. I used to visit homes with my job and you'd be surprised how many people don't have a clue on what to do or who to call😢
No water and heat? That means no shower and no toilet. Maybe you could put him in touch with an agency that could help him.

Call the city, the county, the fire department. They all know organizations that can help. Call your local churches…prayer always helps. ✝️

I started a gofundme for a elderly disabled couple who's roof was in very bad shape and covered with tarps and tried raise money for a new roof..
2 years and it raised 100.00 finally a company agreed to replace the roof for $30.00 a month until paid off..
It was even on the news and facebook..

I am glad to see you using your skills and your life to help others. I will support you forever for what you do. I wish you could get Al and Spencer to clean up homes where people really need help, instead of mowing a pasture, or a home that is one rusty nail away from collapsing, that no one has lived in for YEARS. Yes, the have a million subscribers, yes , that is how they earn their living. But I am always shaking my head when I watch those boys waste 8 hours cleaning up a property that is worthless to anyone. Helping the community should mean helping the people, NOT helping you get your CZcams money for accomplishing nothing.
When an abandoned property is mowed, it helps the neighborhood. Try selling your house when the house next door hasn't been mowed in months or years. Two other similar YT channels: Midlife Stockman and Flawless Cleaning. Flawless Cleaning is in the UK, and they recently did 2 series that helped homeowners with their lawns and homes. It was amazing.
@@blueribb99outdoors with Eric and in Australia Nathan’s and earth trim garden are channels that help live people. I’m not watching Al Bladez or Spenser anymore because they are pandering to their audience and not working on properties that needy people live in….

I noticed that you have gotten control of your OCD. When you started recording on CZcams you use to go all out and trim bushes and or pressure wash the paths and houses. You still blessed Mr. Larry. Keep on keeping on.

Since my son did mechanic training, I became aware of the expense of the tools just to do basic work. The best thing he did while going to school was learning to put on tires and to do Safety Inspections, he saved lives with that. He was told he needed $10,000 worth of tools, about when he graduated. Generally shops expect you to have your own set. More expensive vehicles, have more expensive tools. However, I did catch that if a person had a simple niche they could do, as brakes, they might survive. Larry sounds like a good man, he has retained that despite what he has undergone. If he were to stay, it would be nice to make sure he had water, if just a faucet, perhaps a simple wood heat stove. Thank you for the boost with his yard, restoring the design, the hours spent in companionship. Many thanks to the kind person who directed you to Larry.
