- This customer really needed the real estate agents off her back about the garden. After living in this house for 15 years, it was time to move and the yard required some major work. The customer called me up to do a quote and when I went around, I noticed that the bushes were well high and overgrown. I did the quote, but the customer didn't really want to spend a lot of money on the property, as it wasn't hers! She just wanted it all cleared, so it would pass the end of lease inspection. I then offered her a deal she couldn't refuse - I would adjust my price to suit the budget and do a full yard makeover. That way everybody is happy, the customer, the real estate and my viewers. I spent around 10 hours on this job, including 3 trips to the landfill.

Q: Where are you located?
A: I am from Hobart, Tasmania, Australia 🦘.
Q: Do you worry about snakes?
A: I have never even seen a snake in over 5 years on the job.
Q: Which equipment do you use?
A: Mostly STIHL power equipment (battery and petrol) and commercial Honda self-propelled mowers.
Q: How much do the jobs cost?
A: Sorry, I prefer not to talk about costs.
Q: Why don't you use tarps instead of bins?
A: Tarps are too difficult to move through small spaces and lift into the trailer. The same for wheelbarrows, they are only good for unloading the trailer!
Q: Why are the hot water cylinders outside?
A: I would say it's because Australia had a temperate to tropical climate, and therefore it doesn't matter that much if they are outdoors. To me, though, it seems a bit inefficient to have them outside in Tasmania with a temperate climate (coldish for 3 - 4 months per year). But that is industry standard down here 🤷♂️
Q: Why don't you have help?
A: I've had many problems with employees in the past, so now I work alone.
Q: Why don't you have a ride-on mower?
A: Well, there are a few reasons.
1. I don't have the right trailer for a ride on, considering I always take away the green waste.
2. I don't have anywhere to store it, as my shed is too small.
3. A lot of the properties we do have fences and gates, so you can't actually get a ride-on on to the properties.
4. I don't do enough big jobs to justify spending 15k AUD on a stander, but it would be nice to have one!
5. I will get one as soon as my transport and storage problems are solved.
Q: What types of ladders do you use?
A: The large one is a Gorilla Adjustable Platform 150kg and the small one is a Gorilla Mighty 19. They are both adjustable.
Q: Who/what is Jim's Mowing?
A: Jim's Mowing is a franchise business. The Jim's Group is the biggest home services franchise in Australia.
Q: Why do you have 2 channels that seem to be the same?
A: Quick Cuts (my original channel) has music in the background. Quick Cuts V2 is for those that like just machine noise, and it doesn't have music.

You can tell someone really put a lot of effort into the landscaping on this property. Despite its current condition, it was clearly beautiful in its day. It's outrageous that a tenant is responsible to keep up with this jungle. Owner should remove everything but a few trees/shrubs. No one has the tools, time or inclination to keep this up. Although it's great for your videos, George. Really enjoyed your excellent work!
Oh and they expect a lawn to be maintained at a set level as well.
Or they could hire George to take care of it & increase the rent!
@@nickislade5533While I agree that the trees and shrubs should be handled by the landlord, the tenant should keep the lawn up to par. If they don't want to do that don't rent a house go into a unit

Sometimes its a stupid level.

The garden was obviously very neglected. Trees that are too tall, which are then rusty inside and it does not look nice, and bushes that are too tall. It can be seen that no one cared about it. Only George is able to give it some shape and face. Now it looks like the broker can be satisfied and the new customer has to deal with it. Great George. Hello and have a nice weekend!💯👍👍👍🌿

I'm guessing 15 trips to the tip. That was a huge amount of brush and tree trimming. Everyone ended up happy; your viewers, the former tenant, the new tenant, And probably the neighbors. Excellent job!

I watch a few lawn care channels in Australia, including yours! As an 🇺🇲 I'm beginning to hear the different accents now. That's part of the fun of watching channels around the world! In the 🇺🇸 we have so many accents/dialects...some are so strong/thick it's difficult to understand!

Not positive, stonermeister, but that bush looks nearly identical to my own variegated pittosporum bush in the San Francisco Bay Area!
With prickly leaves it's probably a holly bush. My Mom had one with variegated color leaves

You’re a very hard worker, the cleaning part is the best. What I will never understand is the extreme chopping you do to blooming plants and bushes which takes away its charm.
Most will grow back even better and look a lot nicer in the end.

What an unholy mess these tenants left behind! You did an excellent job of making it right again! What a huge job!
what makes you unique is the time you take and you split everything up in sections so it´s easier to se where you have been. but also lets say you had to do a garden over 2 or 3 days your costumer is not stuck with branches and loose grass that blow all around and just look awful until you get back.
also i like that you split metal from bushes and also ordinary garbage så that it wont mix you take care of the nature. it´s not many youtubers who do that so it´s really nice to se.
i have not seen anyone remove a rusty pot. they would only do the garden you go above and beyond. sorry for my bad eng it is not my first language
