- So, after around 70 hours of work and about 20 loads to the landfill, I've mostly done the drive and the back. There are still a few small things to do, but all of the major work is done. All I have left now is some power washing, some small repairs, building a dog barrier and another episode on the getting the drive up to scratch! (you'll have to watch the next episodes to see all of that, hahaha).....
Some of you will probably remember this property because I've already done 6 episodes here. Back then I decided not to clean up the backyard and some of the front as it was just too crazy. Well, I've had a change of heart, and I'm back to finish off the whole lot. And when I say this yard is crazy, I mean CRAZY! It's full of blackberries, rubbish, old trees and what's left of the garden beds. To get this property back up to scratch, I would say it going to be quite a few episodes. I'm going to do the best I can here, as the homeowner really needs the help. I'm also going to go back over the work I've done, as I could have done better! I hope you enjoy the episode and stay tuned for the biggest transformation I've ever done - what a challenge! All up, I spent around 12.5 hours on this episode, including 3 trips to the landfill. Q: Where are you located?
A: I am from Hobart, Tasmania, Australia 🦘.
Q: Do you worry about snakes?
A: I have never even seen a snake in over 5 years on the job.
Q: Which equipment do you use?
A: Mostly STIHL power equipment (battery and petrol) and commercial Honda self-propelled mowers.
Q: How much do the jobs cost?
A: Sorry, I prefer not to talk about costs.
Q: Why don't you use tarps instead of bins?
A: Tarps are too difficult to move through small spaces and lift into the trailer. The same for wheelbarrows, they are only good for unloading the trailer!
Q: Why are the hot water cylinders outside?
A: I would say it's because Australia had a temperate to tropical climate, and therefore it doesn't matter that much if they are outdoors. To me, though, it seems a bit inefficient to have them outside in Tasmania with a temperate climate (coldish for 3 - 4 months per year). But that is industry standard down here 🤷♂️.
Q: Why don't you have help?
A: I've had many problems with employees in the past, so now I work alone.
Q: Why don't you have a ride-on mower?
A: Well, there are a few reasons.
1. I don't have the right trailer for a ride on, considering I always take away the green waste.
2. I don't have anywhere to store it, as my shed is too small.
3. A lot of the properties we do have fences and gates, so you can't actually get a ride-on on to the properties.
4. I don't do enough big jobs to justify spending 15k AUD on a stander, but it would be nice to have one!
5. I will get one as soon as my transport and storage problems are solved.
Q: What types of ladders do you use?
A: The large one is a Gorilla Adjustable Platform 150kg and the small one is a Gorilla Mighty 19. They are both adjustable.
Q: Who/what is Jim's Mowing?
A: Jim's Mowing is a franchise business. The Jim's Group is the biggest home services franchise in Australia.
Q: Why do you have 2 channels that seem the same?
A: Quick Cuts (my original channel) has music in the background. Quick Cuts V2 is for those that like just machine noise, and it doesn't have music.

Wow! You fought the blackberry and you won the battle!!! I am super impressed!! Was that a few looks of disbelief as you got near the end of it? I like to think you are feeling very proud of yourself right now. Hey that room was a tragedy. I would have sat their crying when I saw the damage the rain and mud was doing down there if I was that mum. Yet there you were, happy to get your hands dirty and prevent the whole house from being ruined. It was so wet and I am sure that lady wouldn't have realised how bad it had gotten. She couldn't have gotten in there with all of that blackberry. Well done George! I wonder why that floor does not have a drainage in the floor. And what is actually causing it to flood apparently it didn't flood when the house was first made
@@euthagiesick3853 He was trying to fix the drains which were where the door was. I think it will take quite a bit to unblock them however it needs to be done. It will be a job well done if he can do it.
So much work. It must have been depressing for you to be there, and for them to live there and I would bet the interior is bad too.

70 hours are nearly equivalent to a typical two weeks of work. That is a crazy amount of work that you aren’t being paid fair market wages. You are a golden person. May God continue to bless you with great health and wealth.

I have watched several videos where a garden was overtaken by brambles. it always surprises me how few roots the gardener digs out, but the whole area was covered in branches. Well done.

I often wonder having had a similar issue with flooding; how builders get approval to place laundries in flood areas. However, you have done a simply amazing job so far and deserve many accolades for your determination to get the job done. That back garden with the brambles was a nightmare - so sad for the lady not having someone to do a dump run for her so she can keep on top of things. I hope you keep growing your channel you are doing an amazing job. I know you are not worried about the contents of your refrigerator. Ours looks the same we don't like stored food but prefer to buy fresh every couple of days.

Maybe later the home owner can get the downhill sidewalk to that room removed, and door sealed to keep out the water from heavy rains.
That sidewalk laterally funnels water into the basement.
I’d wear a proper breathing mask once you start sweeping.

I watched all the parts and there it is - all done, amazing job and such hard work. I particularly like clearance of all that rubbish. They certainly have a damp problem in both areas - the "laundry" room and the outbuilding.

May you be blessed! The way that blackberry beast was growing = hallowed out in the middle...you could have rented it out as an R B & B! LOL! I would have liked to see you work with a scarf covering your face while doing the laundry room cleanup, as the mould and junk in there was not the best situation to work in, however, it is hard with a scarf...I understand.
