- Well, this is what many of you have been waiting for. This yard transformation was absolute mayhem. I initially said no to this cleanup because it was far too bad for me to attempt. The owner really pleaded with me to help, so in the end, after thinking about it overnight, I rolled up my sleeves and got the job done (all for free). Let me tell you, it was pretty horrendous. There were all sorts in here - rubbish, old clothes, old dryers, old washers, dog poo, rat poo, dust, dirt and who knows what else. It was crazy. All up, it took me around 11 hours to complete this section of the job. It also included 3 trips to the landfill and 2 trips to the metal scrappers. This is part 2 of 3.

Q: Where are you located?
A: I am from Hobart, Tasmania, Australia 🦘.
Q: Do you worry about snakes?
A: I have never even seen a snake in over 5 years on the job.
Q: Which equipment do you use?
A: Mostly STIHL power equipment (battery and petrol) and commercial Honda self-propelled mowers.
Q: How much do the jobs cost?
A: Sorry, I prefer not to talk about costs.
Q: Why don't you use tarps instead of bins?
A: Tarps are too difficult to move through small spaces and lift into the trailer. The same for wheelbarrows, they are only good for unloading the trailer!
Q: Why are the hot water cylinders outside?
A: I would say it's because Australia had a temperate to tropical climate, and therefore it doesn't matter that much if they are outdoors. To me, though, it seems a bit inefficient to have them outside in Tasmania with a temperate climate (coldish for 3 - 4 months per year). But that is industry standard down here 🤷♂️.
Q: Why are you cutting so close to your employee?
A: I'm not cutting too close to my workers, they are standing too close to where I am working! All of my workers have been told numerous times about standing too close to the tools and about the hazards involved!
Q: Why do your workers do all the lifting and carrying?
A: Basically, they are employed to carry things and I pay them well, to do the job required.
Q: You work so well together, how do you do it?
A: That's the magic of editing. My workers are basically given instructions on what to do, I just edit it all out, so the videos look seamless!
Q: Why don't you have help?
A: I've had many problems with employees in the past, so now I work alone.
Q: Why don't you have a ride-on mower?
A: Well, there are a few reasons.
1. I don't have the right trailer for a ride on, considering I always take away the green waste.
2. I don't have anywhere to store it, as my shed is too small.
3. A lot of the properties we do have fences and gates, so you can't actually get a ride-on on to the properties.
4. I don't do enough big jobs to justify spending 15k AUD on a stander, but it would be nice to have one!
5. I will get one as soon as my transport and storage problems are solved.
Q: What types of ladders do you use?
A: The large one is a Gorilla Adjustable Platform 150kg and the small one is a Gorilla Mighty 19. They are both adjustable.
Q: Who/what is Jim's Mowing?
A: Jim's Mowing is a franchise business. The Jim's Group is the biggest home services franchise in Australia.
Q: Why do you have 2 channels that seem the same?
A: Quick Cuts (my original channel) has music in the background. Quick Cuts V2 is for those that like just machine noise, and it doesn't have music.

Congrats on 50000 George! I hope you realize how exceptional your channel is. I watch all the lawn transformation channels, but to me they're not truly transforming them. They don't remove trash or grass clippings, some don't even trim trees or bushes. I love that you do it all, including fixing broken gates and steps. As long as you're here I'll be watching! ❤👍🇺🇸
Every time I watch one of those other yard care videos I always think of George and how he removes grass clippings.
Yep, Quick cuts and Midlife Stockman are the best transformers in all those moving/Lawn Care channels. in other channels sometimes the grass is so high that they cant`t mulch it completly.

Hoarding is not a mental illness, it is a learned behavior that can be unlearned. When relatives, neighbors and the community refuse to tolerate it then it stops.

Hoarding is consider an issue that related to mentally treatment. Not just a habit like collecting stamps. It could become super dangerous for their physical health living in unhygienic environment to those who became more severe
This clean up and repairs is some of what I used to do when I was a bit younger. The people in this type of situation have lost hope and caring. Something usually happens to force them clean up. Kindness and compassion goes a long way.

That's funny as in previous lawn videos I can smell the dust from the trimmer. Something about the smell of dry smashed up kikuyu and hot engine oil.

I can understand gardens getting neglected but i dont understand all of the rubbish. You have done an amazing job George and need a Medal.
When people suffer through deep depression or mental illness and don’t care anymore how their home looks like anymore, it just gets thrown aside left there. Some people are too embarrassed to ask for help, hold on the junk, trash, because it’s there to make them feel safe or afraid to let even a tiny piece of paper and some people have no family to take care of them. It was kind that George did decide to take on this, as we see it as, a big hot mess. That’s unbelievable that he also did all that clean up by himself! He’s an awesome guy! 😊

@@bigtime4794the clutter and trash near her house is reminiscent of hoarding problems. Limited physical mobility doesn't prevent you from throwing away light trash, and there was a lot of trash.

Wow, just wow. I'm a 65 yr. Old female who has disabilities, and I would never let my yard get that bad. I too use a push mower around my home and bushes, trees and flowers while my son sits on a riding mower to do the bigger part of the lawn. God bless you for all the help you do for people.

You really earned a pint and a shower and a good night's sleep after this part! People don't get to that point overnight, it takes a long time. I know you didn't plan on doing this but you are an angel on earth for helping this person. 🤓
I started watching this but I couldn’t go any further than a few minutes. It bought back memories of my house cleaning days. I had a couple of clients who would leave their house in such a state, just because they had a cleaner to clean their filth. I walked out of one house disgusted and left a very nasty note. I refused to work for people who had no respect for their house, their children or themselves. I realise these people obviously have some serious issues but the fact that you pushed on anyway and as usual did an amazing transformation, is commendable.
There was no need to leave your client a nasty note, just tell them you do not want to clean for them anymore. You have no idea of what anyone else is going through, they may have serious mental health issues. It is usually the people with serious health issues that need the help more.
This is the 'Oscar' of all clean up's...Unbelievable & what a result...Congratulations George🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆

Wow! One shovel and one can at a time! This is what my husband and I are dealing with every month at his aunts house. For someone who doesn’t spend any energy cleaning, she spends a lot making a mess. Over past 3 years we have been slowly making things “ disappear “ we have hauled away so much stuff. She’s not noticing because it’s been a little at a time…which has been frustrating. The feral 8 plus cats that are free to come in house….and no litter box and dog who doesn’t get let outside much.
