When a body, the same body, is found on Longharvest Lane in London's East End in 1890, 1941, 2023, and 2053, one detective from each period must investigate. Bodies is the best netflix series of all the time. Season 2 should come soon.
I enjoyed it. Hope they never make a second season....cause the story works in 8 episides. Extending it would make the story fall apart.
Storyline about time travel and alternate timelines is very similar to the 12 Monkeys tv series. If you liked Bodies, you should check that out.
Thanks for the review. The biggest questions for me are (maybe spoilers):
1. Where did they get the material to make the bomb? I understand where the technology ideas could come from, but not the actual material, especially in the time it was supposed to have been placed in.
2. How did they attach a mobile phone to the bomb that will work where it was placed? The vault had not been opened after it was created.
3. How come when he went back the dead guy splits into 3, but nobody else does?
4. Where does the tattoo come from?
5. Why must the child/teen have to be killed? As if there were no alternatives.
Was a good series, and had some good ideas, but too many lucky "coincidences" to move things along. 6/10
Great questions! You got me wondering now.
6/10. The ending reminded me of something like Back to the Future with Doc Brown showing up in a Delorean to tell Marty there was a problem with his kids. Just something to create an open end for a follow on season.
And too many loose ends. Don't know why Polly HAD to kill Iris, or why Elias HAD to marry Polly (instead of someone/anyone else)? Why Hillinghead had to turn in the gay lover, or why, he even had to confess and die? Seems to me Elias could just have courted Polly, and given his station, won her over, Hillinghead probably would not have been able to prove he murdered Defoe, and might have been persuaded to just go along.
Also why does Harker have Defoe in a tank, preserved like that? How does that advance to plot? And who would join a cult where a murder victim is preserved in formaldehyde? For that matter, how does he even get possession of the body? Snatch it after it was buried? Even an English gentleman can't use his influence to get murder victims from the constabulary?
Just a lot of what I would call stupid shit in the plotline.
1 : Why did Defoe's body appear in four different timelines while Hassan and Elias only appeared in one timeline when using the throat?
2 : From where was the material sourced to construct the bomb?
3 : If Elias needed to travel back in time to become Harker and subsequently "create" himself as Elias, then who initiated the existence of Elias who traveled back to become Harker?
4 : What caused Elias to vanish? Didn't he journey back in time to 2053 to assume the identity of Harker and fabricate a bomb? Thus, there should be a version of him existing until 2053 without a bomb being crafted and lives being lost.
5 : What significance lies behind the tattoo?
6 : Why did future Hassan anticipate disbelief from her present self, despite the present Hassan being fully aware of the surreal circumstances?
7 : For what purpose does Harker preserve Defoe's body in a tank?
8 : What necessitated Polly to kill Iris?
9 : Why did Said choose to end his own life?
10 : What's the rationale behind Hassan discovering the body? Wouldn't it be simpler for Harker to utilize the recordings to manipulate Elias into killing everyone?
11 : Why not opt to return to Sarah's apartment and inform her that you're from the future, warning her that if she doesn't embrace Elias, he will ultimately cause harm to everyone?
I thought the resolution of conflict at the end was interesting however not unexpected. The actors/actresses were quite good even though so many didn't have to much story.
Dark was honestly much more complicated and I really didn't know were the storyline was going to take me. I definitely liked Dark better. That's just my opinion of course.

Complicated is NOT a good adjective for a story.
I haven't seen Dark, but if your praise for Dark is that it's "complicated", then I'm not interested.
A writer uses convolutions to cover up their lack of story telling skills.
I got bored by episode 2 😅
