    My uncle was gay. Gave me a father figure after my dad died when I was a kid. Never talked about it, but was one of the nicest, kindest, most compassionate guys I ever knew. I have always been very proud of him, and I know he is now with God. Fortunately, I don't have to rely on pastor Bob's interpretation and be coerced into feeling any other way about my uncle, or you, or any other gay person. Hang in there, brother!

      Are you aware that myriad upon myriad millions of people don't share your religious beliefs?
      Why do you believe that everyone is obligated to abide by YOUR religious proscriptions or be dismissed as "wicked"?
      Such grandiose Christian supremacy. #icky
      In the United States, Christianity is not superior to any other religion, or lack thereof.
      Yes, you've shared your interpretation of a Bible verse. So what? Do you think your proclamation asserts a standard for everyone to fall in line behind you?

    • @wattlebough
      @wattlebough Před 3 lety

      @@Dr_JSH She would be better off becoming a Buddhist or following some other religion. It’s ok to have same sex attraction but to wilfully persist in same sex acts and to call it good is not compatible with the teachings of Christ Jesus and the Apostles of the New Treatment. While we’re not to judge people who don’t confess the name of Christ, anyone, even the Pope himself, who confessed the name of Christ but persists in going against his standards must be expelled from the church. Jesus himself and Paul no less lay this out as an instruction to Christians. If Jennifer Knapp wants to worship Christ Jesus she must repent of indulging in homosexual acts. Her creator did not design her that way, neither was she born that way.

    Jennifer, I love you even more...and so does God. Love is the real reason we are here. If you love as Christ loved, don't worry about who's gay or who's not or who's Catholic or Jewish or Buddhist or even agnostic and atheist. Don't worry about people who are 'sinning' differently than you are. 'Doctrine' isn't what saves you. Love is what brings you to the light and the truth and love is what keeps you there.

      Repentance is / must be a part of a saving faith...it's all through the New Testament and WARNINGS of those who don't practice repentance...no eternal security.... Galatians 5:19 -21 to just name ONE. Jesus was ONLY talking about ONE TYPE of Judging, a self-righteous condemning judging...the following statements are Scriptures accepted judging (with dashes before them) ..All through the New Testament there is OTHER JUDGING TO DO:
      - Judge righteously ….not by mere appearance
      - Hate what is evil…. Cling to what is good…
      - You are the SALT > (preserver of good ) and light > good news of the Gospel
      - Christians judging in new testament… simon sorcerer…repent, perhaps the Lord will forgive you of such evil …..John the Baptist called out Herod’s marriage to brothers wife as immoral, Paul called out the blacksmith for giving him trouble, Stephen called out the Sanhedrin’s…. “You stiff-necked people! Your hearts and ears are still uncircumcised. You are just like your ancestors: You always resist the Holy Spirit! 52 Was there ever a prophet your ancestors did not persecute?
      - "If your brother sins against you, rebuke him; and if he repents, forgive him.
      - If anyone calls himself a brother , but is a drunkard / sexually immoral swindler…do not even sit and eat at some table with them

    We must choose to obey God. Yes, we may fail, but we must choose to obey. We are all tempted by sin of some sort, but we must choose to obey and turn from sin. God knows our struggles, but we must choose to obey and get in that mind set of his way, not our way. God will help each one of us with our struggles. Be open to his help and guidance.

    I’m so sorry for Jenifer. I’m a professional soloist and I remember enjoying her Christian music 🎵
    God loves people. He doesn’t care about anything but holiness. All sin is separation from God. We know this isn’t okay with God because the human race wouldn’t go on without man and wife communion. Humanity would end if everyone was g a y.
    Jenifer knows she cannot enter the kingdom of heaven with the sin of homosexuality.

    In all honesty EVERY ONE THAT JUDGE'S WILL BE JUDGED.... It is not your place to judge and to slander her or talk bad......or I quote" She's going to Hell for living this abomination of life." If she wants to be gay then who are any of you to tell her different......It's sad to know that more people in this world would rather say something bad about someone that is gay...Than look in the mirror and see what sins they have committed themselves. Evey human on this planet will be judged by GOD....We either go to Hell or Heaven......GOD MAKES THAT CHOICE......Not humans...........

Your courage in this regard has led thousands of young people to salvation and made them feel accepted and welcome in the church. Young people who have always been believers but have been scared away by the judgment of narrow minds that tell them they can’t be Christians based on their sexual orientation. No human has the right to say who’s welcome in the church and furthermore heaven. God Bless Jennifer I cant wait to hear more music from you.

And if the churches are judging the LGBTQ people then they are judging me too but that’s not how it is at the church I go too. Jennifer is a beautiful and amazingly talented singer and songwriter! A person's sexual orientation does not define them, and I think it's absolutely ridiculous that so many people are getting so upset that this obviously devoted Christian also happens to have a girlfriend. Sex does not define love. I think Jen is an awesome role model, especially for Christians who are afraid to come out of the closet as gay.

    I get it...I was into sexual sin too...I slept with my boyfriend outside of wed lock....
    But I realized it was sin, and I realized it wasn't right in the eyes of God, I also realized how much He loves me and I realized how much I love Him...so I wanted to change, I didn't want to have sex outside of wed lock anymore, I understood that what I was doing was VERY sinful in the eyes of God...I stopped with the excuses and trying to justify it to convince myself that it was ok. I knew deep down the way I was living was wrong, just like I believe Jennifer knows the way she's living is not right in the eyes of God.
    But here's the thing instead of condemning her like I see most of you have done , I'm going to pray for her just like someone prayed for me because if it wasn't for their prayers I might still be in that bondage of sexual sin....So I encourage you all to do the same.

      I will be going to Heaven because I know Jesus has forgiven me for my sins because I repented, meaning I acknowledged and confessed toThe Lord that how I was living was wrong and not right and sinful in His eyes...I will never be perfect and I still struggle, I'm human but that's no excuse to keep going back to habitually (on purpose) return to sin... Am I going to slip? Yes but if I recognize I slipped in sin and confess to Him I messed up He lovingly forgives me and I am once again right with the Lord Jesus Christ. And He will do the same for you...But without repentance there is no forgiveness.

      see that is where you are wrong it
      does not and will not take a husband or a wife to make someone "Happy" it takes Jesus and Jesus only. As Christians we're not called to be happy, we are called to follow Jesus. That requires us to be uncomfortable sometimes.
      Jesus wasn't happy and on the cross to die for our sins, no He was miserable, and very uncomfortable, as a matter fact the night before His crucifixion He stressed out about it so much He sweated blood.. you think pastor Saeed Abadini is happy? he is in a prison in Iran because he will not denounce his faith in Jesus ... do you think his wife is happy right now because her husband is in a prison in Iran? no but she is fighting for her husband and she is clinging to Jesus who has given her a peace that surpasses all understanding through this whole entire thing and guess what she is doing a work for the Kingdom of God ,you think the Christians that were beheaded we're happy? No, the guess what they are right now with her with the the Father.
      God is more concerned about our holiness then our happiness....
      Followers of Jesus are not called to have it easy but you better believe that we're going to have our reward in Heaven, we're going to live in complete happiness complete holiness complete joy and complete peace, nothing that a man or a woman, a husband or wife, or this whole world can ever offer, and it will be soooooo beyond worth it.
      This fading world that has nothing for me, is the closest followers of Jesus will ever get to hell...and for unbelievers of Jesus this world is the closest they will ever get to heaven and I'm sorry but Jennifer is well on her way to that road and if you approve of her lifestyle you are on the same path as her ,praying for you both.

      9 I wrote to you in my letter not to associatewith sexually immoral people- 10 not at all meaning the people of this world who are immoral, or the greedy and swindlers, or idolaters. In that case you would have to leave this world. 11 But now I am writing to you that. *you must not associate with anyone who claims to be a brother or sister but is sexually immoral* or greedy, an idolater or slanderer, a drunkard or swindler. Do not even eat with such people.
      12 What business is it of mine to judge those outside the church? *Are you not to judge those inside?* 13 God will judge those outside. “Expel the wicked person from among you.”

    I agree with Jennifer Knapp that there is room for interpretation in the Bible on a number of things...probably a lot of things...including on whether or not homosexuality. Often my fellow Christians (tho' not all of them, of course) are shocked when they find out that I'm ok with gay marriage. I didn't always have this opinion, but then I read some things that made me open to it.
    Regardless of how Christians interpret some passages of the Bible, one thing that is not debatable is that ...

    She may claim to be a Christian but in reality she is just a sinner. She wants to serve God and her flesh at the same time. Until she realizes her sin and repents she will lie in her sin. Whether it is homosexuality, porn, drugs etc....Sin is sin, we have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God, especially myself. I stand in judge of no one, but will pray for her as others have prayed for me. May God bless us, keep us in his love, in his mercy and in his forgiveness....Amen

    A thread full of Christian's cast stones. Beware the plank in your own eyes and work out your own salvation. Who among you even upon repentance will then walk out the rest of your days perfect. Christ spoke not of homosexuality. Paul did, but is Paul your Lord, your Christ? God is Love. *Closes book*

    • @matthewseel1094
      @matthewseel1094 Před 9 lety +1

      Actually Jesus spoke against sexual immorality which includes any form of homosexuality. Also your logic about Paul is very illogical. The church today was very much founded upon the ideas that Paul wrote in his letters. (humility, unity, exc..) If you can just take the parts out about things that Jesus did not very specifically mention then what part of it are we to believe?

      ***** Actually no, I was referring to the original comment... I have no idea why you thought I was talking to you considering everything I said was agreeing with you. Your lack of logic causes me to believe that you are uneducated and has nothing better to do with your life then to argue on the internet. By the way your comment has 96 words while mine has a measly 56 words; by definition of, "running your mouth", I think you are the clear winner. As for you reading my comment three times, I'm sorry you had to waste your time on that. You should be focusing it on other things, such as graduating high school maybe. Then you will hopefully be able to read something, take the context clues, and make an educated guess on whose CZcams comments are referring to who. By the way don't put any mustard on that burn... lol

      I would have said this, but another person made it shorter for me. Are you such a moron that you can't even enterpret such a basic concept from simple text (Bible)? I don't think so. You know the Bible (and Jesus) condemen it. You are just lying to yourself and others. It's hard for me to believe you are stupid enough to not be able to enterpret simple scripture. If you repeatedly interpreted procedures and specifications that way at work, you would be fired quickly. As I said at the beginning, I couldn't put it better than Apologetics Press did: Jesus condemned the sins of adultery (Matthew 19:18), sexual immorality (Matthew 19:9) and fornication (Matthew 15:19). These terms describe any type of sexual intercourse that is not within the confines of a marriage ordained by God. Jesus then proceeded to define exactly what God views as a morally permissible marriage. He stated:
      Have you not read that He who made them at the beginning made them male and female, and said, “For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh”? So then, they are no longer two but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate (Matthew 19:4-6).
      By defining marriage as between one male and one female, Jesus effectively condemned all other arrangements, including but not limited to one man and two women, one woman and two men, three men and one woman, three men and three women, one man and one man, one woman and one animal, etc.

      @Grambo4 Před 9 lety

      DetroitDubsteppa We ought to heed this advice brother, yes. "Beware the plank in your own eye". But the rest of what you said is nonsense, I'm afraid. So we ought to pick and choose from Paul's writing what is authoritative because he's not Jesus? Did not Jesus explicitly choose Paul for the ministry, miraculously, and inspire him in his teachings and writings? But if you don't believe in the inspiration of scripture, then that's another matter entirely. And if you don't believe scripture is inspired or authoritative, what makes you hold Jesus' words any higher? And Jesus didn't specifically address a lot of things. You can't make arguments from silence. Especially considering we have every other reason to believe that Jesus upheld the moral teachings of the Torah, which as the eternal Word of God, and God's own Son, He is the author of. Brother, I love you, but you need to reassess what you believe here. Bless you.

I left church for many reasons, but not bisexuality. Later, I met another woman from my old church who also realized that she was "gay". There are more of us out there than people realize. I used to be one of those judgmental Christians who believed it was a sin, but then realized it was simply an inclination we're born with. I choose to be Celibate out of respect for the Lord and his law. I think it's unwise in terms of health for anyone LGBT to be sexually active. But I do not judge them for their choices. They must answer to God for it &, as the Bible says, pay for it in their own bodies.

I have no bounds to judge her, "for we all jave fallen short of the glory of God". But she does have a role to set herself as an example to many young people that are facing the same fears of "coming out" to their family and friends. Whether she is homosexual or not, anything can burden us in secrecy like alcoholism, addiction or hate that may make the public turn against us. I am happy that she is publicly telling the truth instead of letting it be a secret for the rest of her life.

    So I have a question…people who have accepted Christ as their lord and saviour, and asked Jesus to reign over their lives, but are attracted to people of the same gender is sinful and abominable, and in danger of going to hell, because it’s a unrepenting, premeditated sinful lifestyle? So if you try to suppress those feelings to try and live a “true” and purer heterosexual lifestyle. Aren’t you living a lie, if you aren’t attracted to the opposite sex? Living a life with someone, having a child with them just to keep to a “normal”, pure standard, and accepting lifestyle seems wrong. It’s a controversial and contradictory slippery slope. I can see how many people who are lgbtq who genuinely love God, want to live truthfully an have a relationship with him, but yet feel denied and are rejected by many church organizations/families/denominations, look to end their own lives as a solution.
