Pastor Bob Botsford is a very Godly man. He is representing the Holy scripture. Two thumbs up for his bravery in speaking scripture in a narcissist culture. Christians are being persecuted all over the world because they are teaching scripture in a lost society and hungry for the Gods truth design that might change and fulfill their lives.

I first heard Jennifer when I became born again. I was sad to hear of her decision to embrace this lifestyle. We all have sin we struggle with in our lives. But when we refuse to recognize that something is a sin, that’s dangerous. It would be natural to be defensive like she got @1:56 Praying that the veil is lifted from her eyes.

Bob's point that Jennifer is choosing to remain in and justify her sinful lifestyle was completely lost on the other three participants. Jennifer is uncomfortable, and rightly so. As such her defensiveness is evident and in sharp contrast to Bob.

Basically what she is saying that the 'sacred writings' are allowing her to practice lesbianism, not to go to church, to live in adultery. That's why in Romans it is clearly says, that the lightning doesn't strike sinful people down, the first degree of punishment, when people who practice such sins, do not worship their Creator is to give them over to their passions and sinful desires. The fear of the Lord is not more in their hearts. scary or what!

Can we finish that sentence at 5:26? Just one sin isn't enough to... what? "Get you thrown into Hell?" --> not true by modern Christian teaching. What else would he have been about to say? Hmm... they really caught him here. This whole expose' is really helping me renew my mind on the issue.
I would leave my church if he was my Pastor. He's talking in circles. He's not acknowledging what she's saying... and its worth the thought.. that sin is sin is sin.
I think one of thee biggest mistakes Christians make (and I myself am a Christian...and lesbian), is that they show more condemnation and judgement instead of love. Unfortunately because of the way I'm made to feel (even by my own family) ; I don't go to church as much as I used to. In fact, I think the last time I went was a year ago. This is sad

This pastor makes me very angry, as do the many evangelical Christians who unilaterally condemn homosexuality. It is not a choice. I will not sit by and have my friends condemned as sinful, evil people. That is just wrong. Go Jennifer! You have my full support.

I'm surprised that Ps Bob would use the Cornelius passage as an example. When God told Peter that he could eat 'shellfish' it was in the context of Peter's refusal to preach to the Gentiles, and God wanted Peter to know that he should not call unclean, what God has made clean.
I think that's something Ps Bob should think about when he wants to next call JK a homosexual living in sin. Do not dare call unclean anymore, what God has made clean.

If being born with a desire justifies acting out on that desire, that is some messed up logic whether you are a Christian or not.
The bible teaches we are born sinners. That we have rebelled against God from our mother's womb. Sin and rebellion against God comes natural to us. It is how we feel. It is who we are.
That is why Jesus is so beautiful. We are desperate and deprived and dead and stuck in a rut, but Jesus came to give us life and give it abundantly. He sets us free from sin and wrath by becoming sin on our behalf and giving us his righteousness. By sanctification our desires will start changing and out hearts will yearn for Christ rather than things of this world. When we try to justify in making something other than Christ supreme, we make an idol of it. That is when we worship creation rather than Creator.

She needs to stop saying in part-4 "IN THIS MYSTERIOUS WORD" as if its so hard to understand and its so complicated that nobody knows what the things in there say or mean.NO its NOT mysterious Jenn and its written FOR US therefor God made sure its not mysterious especially when God speaks against homosexuality SO CLEAR in the bible in many places and nowhere is it mysterious or complicated, again! another way for her to try and justify herself just lying to herself making it all "so mysterious".

Thank God that He "God" is not narrow-minded. God is totally loving.
What I do not get is Jennifer Knapp's defensiveness in trying to shirk off Pastor Botsford's duty in speaking to her as a pastor and religious preacher. She says, "You do not know me, and you are not in the position to." But does she even have pastoral staff telling her to repent of her homosexual lifestyle? I suspect that she surrounds herself with people who supports her homosexual lifestyle, and hence, liberal 'Christian' preachers who just gives her the thumbs up for being actively in a lesbian relationship. It is not my job to condemn her, but her defensiveness does baffle me to a certain extent.
How do you not get defensive when someone is publicly stating your wrong.

So the whole you cannot judge me issue should really be thrown out the window because it doesnt hold any validity or even hold up at all. If we are in Christ and see a fellow brother or sister in sin, would you not throw out a life line to them to bring them out, so that they might be saved?
People get so upset when someone speaks the truth that is in the Bible. Those who are in darkness, who are stuck in sin, do NOT want to come into the light of Christ because their sins will be shown to everyone, so they rather say in the darkness, lash out at people and scream out - You cannot judge me, only God can - but honestly, that is only half true. God will judge us and we are told to judge in accordance to righteousness and the Pastor is doing nothing that is hateful, but throwing out a lifeline to her and she gets angry or upset about that which I do not understand.
Larry has given the floor to Jennifer to share her story, to speak etc but when Pastor Bob is given the chance, he is cut off and its because they do not agree with the Truth. They can say they do but its shown here that they are getting offended with what the Bible says and seems like they are trying to reword or rewrite scripture so that its in accordance with their lifestyle and not in accordance with what God says
Also, it seems as if people always tend to bring up Old Testament laws when they say, well it says you are not supposed to eat shellfish, cut your hair etc etc etc but what they always FAIL to understand is this: Jesus, the Christ, came and was, in a sense, a complete fulfillment of the Old Testament laws. He was a Jew that fulfilled all the Old Testament laws 100 percent, never sinning, etc and when He was crucified for us and when we accept Him as Lord and Saviour of our lives, we take upon His nature, so that, through the eyes of God when He looks at us, what does He see? He sees someone, us, and we are seen as if we have followed all the laws perfectly and that is only because of the sacrifice of Christ, of what He did for all of us.
He came and fulfilled Old Testament laws so that we may take upon Him and be seen as if we have done the same. That is what people tend to forget for some reason and they scream out that you are not supposed to do this, that, or the other - they always fail to understand that Jesus fulfilled all of it, the whole law, and if we are in Him, we have fulfilled the OT law 100 percent and ONLY because we are under His grace, His mercy, His salvation, His blood - He came to seek and save that which was lost
I think that is just one point that Christianity today is not mentioning to those who speak loud as trumpets and scream out the fact that we are not following the OT laws in regards to our daily lives. Its as if we forgot and I hope that through Him, we can remember what His sacrifice did for us - not only allowing us to be saved through Him but its as if we also have fulfilled and walked perfectly in our own daily lives in regards to the Old Testament laws. They have been fulfilled through His sacrifice, through the blood that was shed for all of us, for the world, so that we may know Him and be saved by Him and only by Him - Jesus, the Christ, our Messiah, our Saviour
In regards to Pastor Bob seeming defensive. I dont see that at all. The ones I do see as being defensive is Jennifer herself. Everything that Pastor Bob has said comes from the Bible and all he is trying to do is explain the scriptures and really, throw a lifeline out to Jennifer so that she may come back to her first love. That love was not another woman, a man, money, music, but that first love was indeed Christ, When the pastor is saying something in regards to what the Bible says, Jennifer is the one that is getting defensive really. Just as the scriptures state: people do not want to come into the light, for fear that their deeds may be exposed, their sins might be exposed, so they stay within the darkness in fear of the light of Jesus, the Christ

It is right to say that the judging that Jesus condemns is hypocritical judgment(condemning or accusing someone of something when you are guiltier of it or something worse...such as what Ted Haggard was guilty of when he went all out to condemn homosexuality publicly but turned out to have solicited the services of a male hustler or prostitute in secret until that guy 'outed' him on that act). It is not the same as judging in the sense of discernment, of telling between good and evil. As for Knapp's way of responding, it is definitely not very dignified as a Christian or alleged believer of Christ. When we are confronted by someone of the same faith about our wrongdoings, we are to deal with them because the person is speaking out of love and concern in the faith to reprimand us, but Knapp refused to even listen sadly. And no, I do not believe that this "none of your business" thing is seriously going to be convincing if you are confronted with a sin by another person in the faith.

EVERYBODY that follows your book has a different interpretation so what makes it so infallible. And what about people who follow other faiths or no faith. Do you "judge" them as well?
Its galling that individuals would set themselves up as an authority when they have NONE.

I find it sad that Pastor Bob is so sure that he has it all figured out (like the Pharisees?). I only wish he could comprehend the pain and grief that he continues to bestow on his fellow believers...MANY of whom are gay. Surely there are more important things on which he could focus his energies. We should pray for him.

Bob pretends to be preaching a message of love, but to accept this message, you must first accept his premise that you're a horrible person. Go through his words in this interview and count how many times he talks about "sin". Bob Barker captures it nicely: "The very concept of sin comes from the bible. Christianity offers to solve a problem of its own making! Would you be thankful to a person who cut you with a knife in order to sell you a bandage?"
God did not "Change His mind" on shelfish or other unclean meats. Man changed it for Him when they misinterpreted His Word!
So I have a question…people who have accepted Christ as their lord and saviour, and asked Jesus to reign over their lives, but are attracted to people of the same gender is sinful and abominable, and in danger of going to hell, because it’s a unrepenting, premeditated sinful lifestyle? So if you try to suppress those feelings to try and live a “true” and purer heterosexual lifestyle. Aren’t you living a lie, if you aren’t attracted to the opposite sex? Living a life with someone, having a child with them just to keep to a “normal”, pure standard, and accepting lifestyle seems wrong. It’s a controversial and contradictory slippery slope. I can see how many people who are lgbtq who genuinely love God, want to live truthfully an have a relationship with him, but yet feel denied and are rejected by many church organizations/families/denominations, look to end their own lives as a solution.
I think it's interesting that people need to "come out"... profess the world they are this or that...I'm heterosexual... I've never come out!! The whole gay thing is incomprehensible...

Anyone can make an argument for anything. For many years, we've had NAMBLA (North American Man/Boy Love Association) in North America and PIE (Pedophile Information Exchange) in Britain. Now, they are using the term MAPs (*Minor-Attracted Persons). It all boils down to the same thing: adults who like underage children and who also say it's natural and can't be helped. So where do we draw the line on what is right and wrong, biblical and unbiblical?
In Deuteronomy 27, curses are pronounced on those who engage in acts of homosexuality, incest, and even beastiality... but no curse is pronounced on those who engage in acts of pedophilia. Based on that, can we honestly assume or state that God is okay with pedophilia since He doesn't condemn it in that long chapter. Furthermore, nowhere in the Bible is pedophilia openly condemned. Does that mean it's okay?
Saying that "God is love" is not a foolproof argument. God had entire nations killed and will cast entire nations into 'Hell' at the end of time. The reality isn't how people feel or what people do but what God says. The entire Bible, in both Testaments, openly condemns homosexuality and leaves zero doubt as to God's thoughts on the matter and the judgment that awaits those who choose to practice it. It leaves no room for maneuvering and debate around the issue. Afterall, if God's love 'covers all sins', then why not just sin all sins and sin whatever sin you want since God will overlook it?
I love Jennifer Knapp's music-- at least her first two albums-- but no one is above God's laws and commandments. Even Jesus had to subject Himself to them in order to save us from our sins. Homosexuality is a sin. The Bible states unequivocally that those who continue in sin or who practice sin will be damned to eternal fire because they rejected the redeeming act of Jesus which is to save, deliver, and rescue people from their sins (and from the judgment on those sins), not to allow people to continue to sin because "God is love". I wish people treated humans how they felt was right and not how the Bible says to. That is really making this idea of simple human rights and freedom difficult to agree on.

I think it's brave for her to come out. It's not easy. But it's sad cause people try to mold the bible to their weakneses, acting like "oh, I can't seem to break free, so lets see... maybe the bible isn't that harsh on that" And we conform God to our weaknesses, making Him a small God that can't save. I think in order to be free, one has to admit there is a problem, there is a need for salvation, and a desire to obtain salvation. Then comes the process, and as long as that will take, people, including christians ought to love, and be supportive. 'Cause some changes don't just happen over night, but it's a process of healing. I believe there is grace and forgiveness available for her and all of us, but she (and all of us) needs o stop saying "this is ok, it's not sin, I will keep living like this cause there is grace", 'cause that is not repentance. That's being ignorant. Grace is not permission to sin, but it's the power to come out of sin. God is a God who saves, but we are trying so hard to work our own salvation, and when we fail, we change the image we have about God into a distorted one, and we also change the word of God. That's wrong... I have my failures, and I admit sin is sin, and run to Him to find salvation. 'Cause He is the God who saves.

People will not come to the conclusion of their sin until God convicts them of it and they accept it as a sin. This is true for any sin. Jennifer will not come to the conclusion until God convicts her and she leaves her sin. The Pastor has a responsible as a Christian and as a Christian leader to let anyone (not just Jennifer) the Truth of the Bible. But I don't believe going on and on about it solves anything because it's ultimately up2 God............

Also, God never changed his mind on shell-fish. It was part of the Jewish purity code that was needed before Jesus was crucified, and after his crucifixion Jesus fulfilled the need for the Jewish purity code, and as such it was no longer a sin for someone to eat shellfish.... at least, that's how I understand it :D
