- I just happened upon this recent live footage of Morrissey performing in Las Vegas. I thought I’d be reacting to his vocal performance but that’s the least interesting thing about this video!

Morrissey has never had contempt for his audience. He has actively encouraged stage invasions for decades. God Bless Him.
Right just contempt for non white people. Mr Brexit. Pathetic
The hugging is a tradition going back to the 80's. Morrissey is used to it and it's expected at every show.
"He prowls the stage like a cat just looking for somewhere to lay down"
He taught me to laugh at the sadness , I think he got me through tough times
go see him. he is on tour.
@@American-Dragon I just saw him for the first time this past November and he was everything I’d hoped and more! And what an amazing band!
Yes. And fabulous biting sarcasm to boot.
Who would've thought the most cynical man in the history of music would lovingly embrace strangers while trying to work 😂❤
that's the gentlest security team ever.
patting them on the back, comforting them as they pull them away.
very wholesome.
i assume the singer man guy probably talked with them before the show about how he wants to interact with his audience.
@@thiccrat the singer man guy
I was there..2 nights in July...Moz was kind and patient and gracious to his fans ...especially on his last night!!! He signed albums, and of course ripped off his t shirts and threw them to the audience- we went batshit crazy! Second year of his residency here in Vegas- we love him here!🖤🖤🖤
Love the Moz, national treasure to his fans over here.
"Somebody Disinfect this Legend" 🤣🤣
I love Morrissey from my truest purest heart
He’s a racist. I love the Smiths but the guy is not good human
In a world where many seem to eschew proper English, I appreciate that you search for the right words and sometimes correct yourself.
The audience should tell him, "the more you ignore me, the closer I get"😆
I adoooooore him as an artist ❤ Such an incredible lyricist. It winds me up when people say he can't sing just because he's not a "singer". His voice is beautiful - so unique. 😌
A lot of singers from that era were very unique; think of Robert Smith, Andrew Eldritch and Siouxsie Sioux as just a couple examples.
Someone please develop a full tv series where Justin analyzes Morrissey hugs!!! I could watch so many hours of that.
😂 YES!
OMG all I want now is hours of Justin doing color commentary on concert footage like a sports announcer!
i like it
@@-TheDude- “Oh no, looks like it’s lights out for Morrissey as a fan has him on the ropes-but wait! What’s this? He has greased up his arm, sending the fan plummeting backward to the floor! Good prep work there from Morrissey’s corner. Let’s see if he employs the tearaway tastecoat on this matchup as well…”
@@StrangeDevice brilliant!!!
@@slyasleep How fun would that be, right?! I see Justin vastly expanding his creative output. He’s really turning into an amazing all-around performer here.
@@StrangeDevice Who knew all that time he had a poet, a sage and a wit all hidden under that spandex?
I've always liked Morrissey way more than I should since I'm a metalhead!! Lol 🤘🤘🤘 great episode by the way!
A fellow metal head and a fellow Moz fan. There’s a lot of us about 😉
Phil Anselmo has a CZcams video gushing about Morrissey
I love Morrissey the idea that I can get up on stage for a hug makes me want to go see him.
You really should!
Morrissey is amazing. Been a fan for years. The grumpier he gets and more the refuses to play the game, the more his haters get upset and his fans love it.
Yeh very true
I got to see Morrissey in Feb of 2000 at Hamilton Place in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. He was absolutely brilliant, and I will never forget it.
This channel is getting better and better. Not only are we gifted your musical commentary and stance but the comedy element has definitely ramped up. This content is far better than any of the mainstream TV channels which is why that is dying a death. Keep up the great work Justin!
Television is dying a death because it's pandering to the woke and politically correct, it's neither entertaining, funny or true to life. ☹
what martin said.....
Come on Mr H, let’s have a Depeche Mode review.
Morrissey ripping off the shirt that says "Darling I Hug" is equivalent to a shop flipping it's open sign to closed.
Love the security is gentle with the stage invaders❤
Seen Morrissey live many times, always a great show 🤘🤘🤘
Morrissey is on tour in England this year, I'm seeing him in October! I love him!
Justin is wildly underrated
I've seen Morrissey 3 times: first one in London closing his tour Who put the M in Manchester? and the other two in Buenos Aires. There's like a tradition among fans who always try to hug him and, let's not forget, that ripping his shirt off to throw it away to the public is part of his magic! Nothing better than his manly chest and his awesome attitude. Next time I'll try to get on the stage!
"...like a cat looking for somewhere to lay down" ahhh what an exact way to describe ones somewhat vacant, yet troubled demeanour. Thanks for the fitting description Mr.Hawkins. (So, feline I must be🐈⬛).
🎶😻🕺
Love morrisey and the smiths! Brilliant 🤩
We used to have Morrissey listening parties at my place of employment when I worked 3rd shift. I love him!!!! 💕❤ Lol...I just found out he's in Boston on Dec 4th!!! Going!!!!
Same story working graveyard with the hipsters back in the day. I learned to love Mozz
Hug him!!!! ❤️
Yes! Thank you for sticking up for Morrissey. He's the greatest.
Is he really though? Hilarious!
@@mazolab Good for Morrissey, and being an old sad sack of meat past his prime.
I’ve seen Moz more times than anybody else live and I’m seeing him again next month, it’s always like this - a religious experience 👌
The blazing saddles reference 😂😂 you have my heart sir!
Hi Justin. I got excited seeing your thumbnail of Morrissey after a recent comment from yours truly about doing a video on Associate's Billy Mackenzie. The connection being The Smith's single William It Was Really Nothing, which was about Billy, and Associate's response single Stephen You're Really Something. 😊
Nothing beats seeing Moz live. Best experience for me was getting the national express up to Hawick in Scotland and seeing him perform in a town hall. The energy and devotion was euphoric.
Haaaa you love him it makes my heart melt, you are harsh most of the time , he is my legend too viva Mozz
how can anyone hate moz? inconceivable!
Note: The T-shirt says "DARLING I HUG
Great timing, I just happened to hear Rock and Roll Deserves to Die a few minutes ago, what a rad song!
Can’t wait to see moz in Manchester next month. Hometown show is going to be amazing.
Oh man, this is hilarious, my favourite Justin Hawkins Rides Again so far
Didn’t expect to be as touched by this outpouring as I was. Nice one Moz.
I’ve loved him since the start & seen him live, he inspires absolute adoration especially in young men!
Genuinely howling at the commentary. More like this please Justin ❤
The guy has been blessed with the musicians he has worked with
Indeed, and the musicians he has worked with have been blessed with him. Sweet two-way 🎸🎤
@@skooshy621exactly it goes both ways or we would have never heard of mo. Everything and everyone has to line up just right when your a musician.
I'm from Killarney and I'm going to see him on the 24th of September!!!! Another one off the bucket list!!! (yes I'm 52 and old but he's a hero of mine since i first saw This Charming Man on Top of The Pops!)
not old sir....older, wiser and more distinguished,at the same rate as Morrisey as well. -good music stays with you for a lifetime. The Smiths are worthy , and of legendary status, no doubt he can still chant 🙌
Great lick there at the beginning
You do make me giggle with your reviews......this one is hilarious 🙂
Would love to see you do a detailed video on Johnny Marr and his style of playing
OMG! So funny Justin. It looks like Morrisey is letting this happen on purpose. The song does say everyone needs love.
I'm going to see Morrissey in a few weeks, cannot wait!
It's a shame the British fans seem to have fallen out of love with him, because his most recent album, 'I Am Not a Dog On a Chain' is utterly fantastic.
I haven't he's great and true.
He's still selling out in the UK
Agree, it is AMAZING lyrically, of course and I love that he has been really experimenting with and killing it in different musical directions. I love every song on IANADOAC. Really looking forward to BOT and the other one he's got, what a truly gifted artist. I've seen him live only twice and they were by far the best among many concerts I've seen; very personal and he doesn't need any effects. I love him for his independent thinking. Not a dog on a chain or anyone's yes man!
I am a long term uk Morrissey fan - will always love him ❤
This was one of my fav videos of yours, so good! lol
Cheers Justin your observations are giving me a great laugh...I've just subscribed as been following for a while now..and you are consistently cheering my day!
That’s my favorite reaction you’ve done, so far. 😀😀😀
What a great commentary!
Morrissey adores his audience. I’ve been to a fair few Moz gigs and the last one in Leeds was insane. I didn’t think I was going to get out alive. The t shirt throw is always carnage. I must say I am so chuffed you like Morrissey. Thanks for this video. It was fab x
This video is incredible, you have such a way of describing things no one thinks of
Just Brilliant! Cheered up my day!
I saw Morrissey in my hometown a few years ago..he was great, never felt the need to get up and hug him though..he was getting man handled enough..everyman with a job to do!
Great video. I love Morrissey, Love Justins breakdown.
DUDE!!! I love your sense of humor. And God effin bless you for being part of what might be the only tribute to Eddie Van Halen the world will see (all wrapped up nicely in the Taylor Hawkins Tribute) Your performance with Wolfgang was spectacular, cheeky, and perfecto mundo. Cheers, mate !!
this is so good, thank you justin
Just remember that the other half of the Smiths was the great Johnny Marr. I saw him with The The, opening for Depeche Mode. He played harmonica, but with his whole body. I have never seen anyone attack a harmonica like that. Marr is an incredible musician, and he can probably play any instrument you hand him.
And his jangling guitar work is very hard to play, but sounds amazing!
Love love Depeche mode great live
Yes! His solostuff is great too. Loved to see him live one day
I love good harmonica players, and I agree about Johnny Marr's playing. I remember him as one quarter of The Smiths, though! (Just sayin'.)
That was a riot. Felt like I was genuinely laughing and reacting with you. And I love Morrissey and The Smiths too, saw him live once and saw Johnny Marr. I'm only a new subscriber, but I suspect there is more comedy in you :D
"He is extra alluring..." Indeed!!🤣
Morriseys last two albums, especially his most recent, are absolutely fantastic
I Am Not a Dog on a Chain is magnificent.
Have you heard his earlier stuff? I Am Not A Dog On A Chain is pretty good (some of it is fantastic), but Low in High School is horrific. If you like that, go back to his 80s and 90s solo work.
This song is so unique and timeless its difficult to think it was made in the mid 80s.
There was was wider range of musical styles in the charts in the 80s than there is now. Everything from All About Eve to Clannad to Public Enemy, Gary Numan and Whitesnake. Even Joe Dolce! Now it's all pap, rap and crap.
😂
I mean, it’s a brilliant don’t but it sounds 100 percent like the 80s.
@@Hegder Fair enough but it doesn't feel nearly 40 years old to me - but then again I probably didn't hear it until late 80s early 90s. What other 80s song does it resemble would you say? I can't think of anything that had such a distinctive tremolo riff.
I should add though...the Smiths/Morrissey are firmly planted in the 80s in my mind.
Saw him last Sunday in Glasgow, there were people right at the front at the Armadillo too.
Didn't see too many folk actually climb up though. Security had to break up a fight over his t-shirt at the end..!! 🤣
Morrisey was excellent.
Satan rejected my soul is the best Morrissey solo tune!! I can see you having a field day with that one! Do it Justin! Do it for your pals in Canada!
Wow. I hadn't heard about this. What a wonderful video, what a wonderful song and what a wonderful thing to do to turn it into a hug-athon
I was at the front at the Brixton gig. He opened with How Soon Is Now. The sound of that guitar riff with the tremolo effect coming out of the PA was something else.
Brilliant commentary, you're my new favourite hobby 🤣🤙
Really cool video, loved this, thanks Justin!
amazing, you should definitively do more concert reviews, the huggings comments here were hilarious dude
Love the video content. You are just so funny! I lmao and actually learn things to pick up on that I hadn't noticed before or didn't know at all. The humor is just solid gold!
I love that song. It's hypnotizing.
My grandad also used to pull his trousers up slightly before sitting down. You just don't see that now a days! Endearing!
Can I say this is one of the best videos you've done lov it 😋
Thank you so much for making me laugh! It was sorely needed as I am currently dealing with covid and feeling like crap.
stay away from zombies for now, no more concerts for you......get well soon though. Justins a funny guy, he's good for you. 😊
Not only has Justin never seen Morrissey live, but it’s pretty clear he’s never even seen I live video of him until now. Fans rushing the stage to touch him happens at literally every show. And the fact that (A) there are no stage barriers, and (B) the security guards have clearly been told to gently escort them away shows that Morrissey enjoys this kind of fan adoration. I remember the first time I saw him in Los Angeles. The crowd went crazy and started rushing the stage and I thought “bloody hell, this is like Beatlemania. Only it’s over a guy who’s in his mid 40’s”.
Justin! Great video as usual! Morrissey is amazing. Also, can't wait to see you and Rick Beato kick it! Looking forward to what will obviously be a FANTASTIC video for both channels.
ah, so it's officially happening?
@@damjanp7920 well, Justin said he wanted to, and then Rick acknowledged in a video and said let's do it so I'd say it looks quite hopeful. 👍
Taking the precaution of greasing his arm made me properly chuckle
Just subscribed! Love the knowledge
That was hilarious! He was amazing. Why should he deny his fans a simple hug?👍
About time you 🤣 Yes go and see him. The Las Vegas shows are a massive singalong.
he really is one of the all the time best
loved the involuntary snort whilst laughing at your clumsiness Justin, you're a funny individual, in lots of ways. love all your wee nuances too.....yer a talented man 🤣 big fan of your vids.
I absolutely love you, Justin, for doing a Morrissey video. I know he's unpopular as an individual and persona currently, but I agree with you - his music, lyrics, and vocal performance are like none other and should be celebrated.
My dad loved The Smiths and Morrissey's solo work, and Morrissey's voice was a huge part of the soundtrack of my life. My parents took me to see Morrissey as my first concert, probably back in 1999, and it truly was a religious experience, as some describe. I remember he even forgot the lyrics to a song, and the crowd sang for him!! It was just a beautiful, exciting, emotional experience.
Since then, I've seen him numerous times, and taken my oldest two to see him as their first concerts as well! To see my children sing his songs and be part of that audience experience like I was, was just euphoric to me. And Morrissey never disappoints!! You've covered other, older artists losing their range, but Morrissey still sounds spot on, I'm terms of pitch. The band is incredible, and his setlists take you through every emotion.
My favorite album I think is Vauxhall And I, although you can't deny the early Bona Drag is phenomenal. Unlike other artists who may lose some creativity or imagination, Morrissey doesn't! I love World Peace Is None Of Your Business - it sounds like it should be the soundtrack for a film or musical. And his covers are impressive and exposed me to many artists I want to hear more of, thanks to him.
Viva Moz!
@Victor Alexander I don't know if it started earlier, but he made some racial remarks about Chinese people being inferior maybe 10 years ago and has expressed his support for a British far-right political party.
@sierrasample8632: Yes, Vauxhall and I is his masterpiece, but I still whack Viva Hate on from time to time. What a great solo debut (although Vini Reilly can take a lot of credit for that).
Where various forms of televised Sportsing have commentary, I think recorded concerts should have live commentating on crowd acitvity by Justin Hawkins 😄🖤
Saw Morrissey 3 times, amazing experience each time. I have a piece of one of his shirts 😄
I’ve seen Morrissey 3 times over the past 30(!) years, and he’s always welcomed people climbing onstage to hug him. He seems almost disappointed when security drags them away.
Just say u seen him 3 times. No point in saying over 30 years when u seen him once every 10 years lol
@@bmoneyrancidfan91 3 times with 10 years between is a pretty alright set of data points, whats your problem?
@@bmoneyrancidfan91 My point was that he’s been doing the hugging thing for a looong time.
Love that Morrissey ❤
Hilarious one Justin. You made me enjoy a Morrisey song.
Hilarious! I’m seeing Moz in Brighton next month. Always a pleasure!
Came across this guy haphazardly. Glad I did.
the stage invasions and hugging has been a part of this performance since the smiths began.
Love the video as always, Justin, but now I feel disturbingly hug deprived 🥺 maybe I should go and see Morrissey live too? 🤔😅😂
🤗🤗🤗🤓
Or a shrink.
I love these videos!!
Aw you make my day Justin 😂😂😂
"Covidian health concerns" Magnificent.
Also, if people kept running up and trying to hug me, I'd be bludgeoning somebody with a mic stand.
