I was definitely hoping for a 2 door although 4 door would be okay I guess. removable top along with a body on frame set up with 4x4 rear wheel drive setup. It fails in everything but being a modern Mom’s suv. It’s closer to the S-10 blazer.

Absolutely. They should have taken the Canyon/Colorado ZR2 running gear and built a real Blazer out of it. The original was a rough-and-tumble offroad machine (my family had a 1971 4WD with CST), often with winches bolted to the front, not a warmed-over Malibu for taking the kids shopping.

The new explorer with rear wheel biased in st trim is miles better. May be a few thousand more but test drove one last weekend and wow. Power was great and handles fantastic. They are both expensive but the explorer was just fun to drive. This blazer is basically a old transverse which was not great anyway.
