He wore that title proudly like it was a WWE belt.
He desparately wants to be liked, or thinks he should be liked by everyone. Almost beloved like James Rolfe.
But he's so insufferable and loathesome that hating him is almost a kneejerk reaction to him, point-blank. He complains about everything, he's jealous of everybody, and he lies constantly.
His personality, demeanor and voice are pretty much tailor made to make him as easily hated as possible. He's a high pitched, nasally dumbass with an utterly unwarranted superiority complex and self righteous, but hypocritical.
James Rolfe at least is funny. Phil couldn't be funny even if his life depended on it.

James Rolfe has made some missteps during his career (Screenwave) but I never even came close to hating him. He is genuinely talented and created tons of entertaining content, he’s evolved and changed, he was smart enough to keep his personal life out of his content. Nothing Phil has ever done has even come close to AVGN Karate Kid and that was just James messing around.
Also Mike Matei is a better gamer and streamer than Phil and doesn’t buy groceries with tips.
Today I learned from DSP that as long as the shitty things I do aren’t as bad as the worst crimes people can commit, then people are obligated to like me

Big ups to Atlus & Everybody Else watching this right now. It’s arguably a job as tough as Phil’s, so I’m thankful there’s folks out here willing to sift through his 80+ Hour work-week for us.
It still baffles me he streams 80 hours a week... most successful CCs and Streamers stream about 40 hours (sometimes more for various reasons but not normally too much more) a week. Why are they more successful than Phil? (Rhetorical, don't answer that) Because Phil has the personality of a piece of rotting plastic while (most) normal Streamers/CCs have "approachable" or relatable personalities. Something most people wanna be around. Not an asshat who only cares for himself and will go out of his way to ditch you at the earliest convenience possible.
He wants to pretend that everything he did is from a bygone era and hides it behind a disclaimer (a wall of text). All the while, he goes on this repetitive delusion that he's changed yet as time goes on, he goes back to doing the same toxic behavior that he is criticized for and tries to justify it by saying "My detractors said things worse than me." But yet we're the ones taking advantage of people. Grade A projection from the never-ending failure of PP Burnell.

What's striking about this video is Phil's absolute ghoulish glee as he imagines how the documentary would, in his mind, expose all of his detractors. He lusts after that fantasy so badly. He's practically salivating at the idea of having the spotlight turned on them.
What’s funny is this. Take ItsAGundam for example. If a documentary on Phil went any tiny bit into who Gundam is it’d instantly show how massively uninteresting, unremarkable and awful Phil is and get Gundam more fans. Phil is way out of his league if he brings up anyone else’s history because of how much they overshadow him.
I also wonder what Phil thinks will happen if anyone did? Does he believe that there are enough skeletons in everyones closets to make it interesting ?

You can tell he's the one who wrote it because he looked away from the comment to look into the camera, did hand gestures and did his "alright?" "okay?" confirmations. Watch him reading the suggestion box or any comments, he stares directly at the screen and reads it word by word, he never looks away until it's his own words.

I started watching detractors originally because i didn't like dsp, but over time, I've just come to love everyone's personalities and talent. Iveega and Lem Fandango are some of my favorites

Being a detractor is like volunteer community service. Just a bunch of people who see a common problem, like a dirty roadside, and they get together to clean it up. Detractors just see malevolence and feel they have a duty to point it out on their own platforms because anyone who does it in his chat or elsewhere gets bannedx5. forever.

I had commented something really specific one time on Doody’s video regarding the mini pc, I said that he really shouldn’t trust handouts like that because of actual security concerns because at that point it seems like his community will eat him alive if given the chance (and implied it would be funny ack ack) and literally the next day he came on stream trying to debunk everyone as usual and pointing out what I said pinning the blame on da tr0llz and such; to not even try to acknowledge someone, he sure does know a lot.

For me, the dead giveaway this "real commenter" is anything but that is most comments he reads verbatim his eyes are glued down at his phone, and he barely looks up. This whole read back seems him saying stuff like it's his own words looking up at the camera, which it most likely is.
people are saying its AI written using DSP speech/typing which has been done before, i think more than likely this is what it is and he actually fell for the bait because it sounds exactly like what he thinks about his detractors and our reasons for disliking him.

Personally, I watch detractor content because DSP is a real-life super-villain. He's 42, claims to be poor despite making over 6 figures a year and treats everyone like they're assholes. I genuinely think he's uncancelable because he will not go away. He's fascinating. As much as I can't stand him, I can't help but watch. I'll never give him a view or my money, but it is intriguing to see people dump lump sums of money and not just a dollar here and there. I don't want him to lose everything and be on the street, but I want him to grow up and get a job. I think that's the good ending for DSP. Right now, I feel like it's the twilight of his career and remaining good years

I put these videos on while I practice guitar after my wife and I eat dinner. I find your voice enjoyable to listen to and hearing reactions to his shenanigans that echo mine are cathartic to hear out loud.

The beginning of the comment, Phil says he's just reading it. This is him expressing that it's just somebody's opinion. Towards the end of the segment, he says it's eye-opening, insightful and most important: *true.* This is a manipulation tool Phil loves to use and shows he was acting in bad faith.
If something affirms his views, he will turn that something from an opinion into a fact. And he'll do this regardless of if it really is factual or not.

I started actually watching Phil in 2021 right after the Twitch departnering and the Resident Evil 8 and Mass Effect Collection playthroughs. And I was watching the restreams instead of DSP’s own stream because he had 24-hour sub-only mode and I wasn’t about to do that. So I watched several restreams and everything I heard about him was true. Everything about him was embarrassing and worthy of mockery or rage. It was pure unclipped Phil in full context. And I hated it.
Watching Phil’s streams directly made me a detractor and THEN I found all the commentary videos and old Tevin stuff. I fell i to the detractorsphere because they were saying all the stuff that I thought from watching Phil directly.
And then a few months later the bank leaks happened and as a former bank employee, I knew everything he was saying about it was a lie. Phil made me a detractor from his own words and actions completely in context because I saw it all live. And again, I started watching him halfway through 2021 when he was fully “Modern DSP”. I didn’t compare him to the old Phil.
Mysteriously, this "feedback" again matches Phil's own mannerisms of language.

I don't understand how someone making a documentary about someone else affects you. If someone made a documentary about Hitler and then made a documentary about Obama, it doesn't make sense that it reflects badly on Obama.

Phil will always have a few loyal dents who will flatter him by confirming all his copes and delusions. The sad part is that Phil doesn't realize he's just agreeing with his own opinions. He actually thinks a wall of text amounting to "Detractors bad, Phil good" is somehow a revolutionary concept that he'd never considered and must immediately be shared with all of his dents. He's just that desperate to hear anybody outside of his bubble agree with him.
