  • Happy New Year! It's time to start on my 2024 goals. Thankfully, I've slimmed it down this year and only have 4 main goals I want to accomplish: update our bedroom, learn Korean, launch my budget course and upgrade my closet.
Get ready for a bedroom makeover! For January, we're focusing on updating our bedroom because it is depressing and cramped and frustrating. Join us as we transform our boring and cluttered bedroom into a stylish and organized space. We're purging, painting, and rearranging furniture to create the perfect bedroom setup. Part of the frustration is figuring out how to optimize storage. As I deep cleaned my drawers this week I realized that it's time to upgrade my intimates situation. Poor Brian, having to deal with my ratty granny undies... but no longer!

A color stylist is exactly what I’ve been thinking about too!! I hate buying clothes because I don’t know which types are best for my body proportions and which colors go best with my skin tone and hair color. I’ll definitely be looking into that locally!

I was literally watching his Korean lesson reels on ig recently. He’s good. Also you won’t be able to learn Korean without a K drama you’d die for. I recommend Marry My Husband or Let’s Eat (if you’re a foodie)

Hey Aja, not sure if you’ve done this kind of video before but any suggestions on working with the current set of clothes you got but just making it more in-style with minimal purchase of new items? Currently working on my finances but closet is looking bleh. I’m talking about the process itself - like take it out and take pics or something. Thanks and happy new year!

I would say accessories OR if you have a partner, go into their closet. Nearly any accessory or item that I wear that elevates my outfit is from Brian's closet.

Hangul is a writing system, and because of its transparency in mapping from sound to spelling, it's known to be the easiest to learn (unlike English, where we often have many ways to write the same sounds). Korean is the language. I'm a linguist and work on Korean, both in spoken and written form. I'd be happy to help!

i used to watch cliff tan and he says it's okay if it's not perfect but ideally the priority would be having the bed in a "command position." so i think where it currently is or the middle wall are the best options but since you said you need a desk and a storage system, you might have to prioritize that instead. excited to see how your room turns out!

Asa what a good idea to get typed for color season. Maybe I was mistaken to think you’re going to Korea but apparently there are some famous places there that provide this and seek to do a better job. I got rid of most of my clothes this weekend but I have another run. I honestly feel like I lost a 50 pound weight off my chest. I can literally breathe better.

I am a polyglot and I teach French as my day job and this is what I would tell you: "a language is just a code, a pattern". Everyday you use the pattern that the other swill understand. For example, in English you may have learned as a child that a base sentence is Subject + Verb + Object. Subject and Object are made of nouns, pronouns, nominal groups (for beginners). What is the base pattern in Korean ? Using words that you already know practice making very simple sentences.
After that you can try to read simple text (infant/children books), trying to figure out the meaning of a sentence by identifying the base pattern . Eventually you will learn more vocabulary and more element of a sentence to enrich your language and become more precise
That's how I learn and how I teach beginners.

My mum teaches French, Spanish, english, and German to high schoolers, her fav tip is change all your TV and movies that you've already seen that you love watching to the language you're trying to learn. Acustom yourself to hearing what the language should sound like, live in it as a whole thing (like music whether you can read notes or not, you can feel the vibe and flavour of the music) and don't be afraid to apply that whole sound when you're learning vocab 😊

I also feel like I really struggle with learning languages. I’m a native English speaker and moved to Spain, so now I’m learning Spanish. I find it so difficult. But I recently had a little bit of success with creating scenarios and writing out how each person would speak. Like a conversation about going to the beach and I “play” each role in the conversation. I guess that means im a visual learner? Idk. I just need to actually be each role for it to really sink in how I should be using each word. It’s not enough for me to read it and write it because it doesn’t stick in my brain.

I am Swedish and I lived in Korea for three years and even though I went to several course I never learned to talk! I speak Swedish and English flountly and understand a little German, Dutch and Spanish BUT Korean impossible to learn! Their whole glammar and how to construct sentensis are soo different than the Europeean languages. Acctually it is not in the Asian language family either but closest are Finish and Hungarian. Two language that also is very hard to learn! So whom ever told you Korean is easy to learn is totally wrong! Nowerdays I have a granddaughter and daughter in law that speaks Korean but I have given up learning… Don’t give up it is NOTHING WRONG WITH YOU! It is just a hard language to learn! Good Luck! ❤️

And my best friend there, my korean teacher, i taught her English at the same time let me in on how the whole society works, not just old Music but their different popular music and tv, filmstars etc. It gives you so much more of the feeling of what Korea is.
