- As my 2024 planners came in, I realized that I'm all goal-ed out.
2005 - 2012: goal was to graduate from school
2012-2014: goal was to have a sports show
2015-2017: goal was to grow my audience on social media
2018-2021: goal was to get out of debt and fully fund my emergency fund
2021-2023: goal was to save up to buy a house.
2024 will be my slow girl era - no pressure to accomplish any major life goals or to change my life in any significant way. I'll be focusing on my inner (and outter) glow up.

honestly, what aja is going through right now is exactly what i’m going through energetically. it’s so nice and refreshing to see how honest a vlogger is about their growing pains and making it interesting, personal and educational for us to see too.
I’m 46 and given up pleasing men in ANY capacity. I just want to wear comfy clothes. No hustle for me. No workplace stress for me. Don’t want to spend a ton of money either. Just bake and make soup.
I read the title and said “YES YES YES”. I’m tired of being fed hustle culture.
Planning to do the same thing this year too Aja. I signed up for grad school out of fear of being financially behind from peers. I didn’t realize how my 36 yo body and brain ain’t in her 20s anymore and the recovery time is longer. Burnt me to a crisp.
For the past decade of my life, I have always been frugal. I always had financial goals I wanted to reach; thus, this meant sacrificing a lot of things (me in particular) from being the priority. I purchased my clothes from Goodwill, of which I still enjoy but it was the only store I bought from, and purchased skin care products that were on sale. Groceries that were cheap and about to go bad. This year I had a sudden epiphany at the age of 27 and just decided to treat myself. I purchased the clothes I wanted that fit my body shape, I took care of my skin with the proper sunscreen and facewash instead of what's on my sale and I never looked back. I look so beautiful. I'm saying it and feeling it inside and out and really, this year is my manifest era, my slow girl era and I'm enjoying it the fullest. We can have so many ambitious goals in life but I will only be young once, so I'm glad I finally realized to cherish and savor it like I never done before.
Plus it's so fun to dress up and look beautiful. Other people see me and I'm sure they like it but I am the only one who enjoys it the most.
I feel the same way. I turn 30 in January and I feel like I’m just figuring out how to really live. I don’t care about goals and plans as much, esp with so much tragedy in the world. It’s made me have a different appreciation.
I love the "slow girl" "goal" for 2024....I have been so busy and exhausted this year...it is dream for planning!
We deserve a break
you're glowing!! the energy is a complete 180, so happy for you!
Thanks! I feel better
I can already tell I'm gonna love this era, like I have all the others. You're killing it girl! ☺️
It's 2024 planning time for me as well🎉
Hope it goes well for you too
I love your content and love you prioritizing rest over big updates as you have been moving full steam ahead for almost a decade at this point. I also want to slow down next year but I know a big help with that will be your 2024 planner!
🙏🏼🙏🏼
I love that you value purchasing ethically sourced jewelry!!!
Oh my gosh yes please elaborate on the slow girl era in more videos I love this
Feel this so much! The past year i up and moved to a new country and im glad I tried something new but since the pandemic my life has been a series of big decisions some good some bad but this next year all I want it slow living. No big changes, a nice routine. Just a predictable day to day with to major challenges 😅
sometimes it's okay to just be. we don't have to always have something going on all the time. Thanks for being real Aja!
omggg a goal setting/vision board party sounds so fun!!!!
Yesss the queen has posted 🙌🏼✨ it’s gonna be a good day 😌
❤❤
YES TO SLOW GIRL ERA AND YES TO TREAT-YOUR-SELF!
I felt soooo good about myself when you said you're only buying things that you can't grow out of, because girl.. SAME! Haha, so happy that you're so honest about this. If I need bottoms, I'll buy sweats because the waist expands and they're not as expensive. I'm not investing in things that will probably not fit me in 3 weeks, and then fit me again in 5 months when it's not the season for it.
The jewelry is really pretty and suits you well, good job on treating yourself! Have a nice day 🙏🏽
SO GOOD to see you getting dressed up. Thank God!
You look GOOD!!!
It’s always the right decision to pour love into yourself 🥰🥰
Cant wait to see your slow girl year !

@@AjaDangYou should absolutely do what you need to do to rest, even if it means less videos! ❤️
i love you aja girl. you always make my dayyyzz
Dang it dang! You're good.
so real for strategic purse placement over stains. I feel seen.
how many more wears can I get out of that sweater before I *need* to dry clean it
I’ve always been the one standing outside of the hustle culture phenomenon, and as an American living in America- I felt like an alien being so far from feeling that there was anything appealing about that toxic way of being- (just my opinion). I love the idea of living simply, so that’s how I do life. It’s a beautiful life! Christ-centered, family focused, whole feeling self love. That’s my recipe. 😊
No to clothes with holes in them! When we take care of ourselves- it also means taking care of our surroundings, and our clothing, our belongings. When we live simply, we have time for these things. ❤️
Holes in the 🧦 is so relatable 😂
Wooohooo finally 🥰🥰🥰
Could the goal setting/ vision boarding party be with us?
Good for you! I recognize myself in you! Why having bad underwear? Why…. I have followed You for a loong time and you have been so focused on money. First paying off debts then the wedding then the house and girl you got soo burned there! Now you do have the money and you can relax in the appartment and just live! I have for the past two years slowly built upp a small capsual of cloths I loove with plenty of nice underwear and decent socks. So just enjoy life! You really do deserve it!! ❤️❤️❤️
You look happier since the move back to LA.
Omg. I just realized that I’m still wearing ratty clothes as well. Recently completed a purging as well. Way to treat yourself. Well deserved.
What is the light gray or white sweatshirt you’re wearing while cooking? It’s so cute and cozy! Glad you’re back in LA and hopefully can get some peace!
It’s from Pop flex!
I knew it was popflex as soon as I saw it! Cassey makes the best clothes
Aja, where is that blazer from?!
Hi Aja where is your sweater at 9:39 from
It’s from a neighborhood store called Neoity. We bought it a while ago though
Beautiful blazer ! where is it from ?)
It’s from Madewell
No hate on worn clothing…esp holes in underwear and socks, self made ventilation
natural made pee hole
What if just a basic life feels like hustle. Like working 40 hours a week just ain’t it.
Same. For me I’m trying to find other ways to make money so that I’m not fully reliant on my 9-5. Unfortunately that does require some hustle 😅
How do you recycle socks?
Link in the description box!
Sounds healthy, it might be nice to get centered and unbothered
I agree. Looking forward to it
You should really do a year of rest and relaxation to be honest. I think I had written a comment like that a couple of months ago you've been doing so much for so long. I am not surprised you are feeling burned out. As a society as well I think we are mellowing down and divesting from the constant hustling and ultra-capitalist mindset .
100% yes. Thank you so noticing something in me before I noticed it myself.
Such a long ad :((
Lab grown diamonds are not more ethical than a natural diamond. They are great for people with smaller budgets. But terrible investment as their price keep going down. Few years ago, lab grown diamond used to be 20% cheaper than natural diamonds, nowadays they are 80% cheaper. #greenwashing
I think the people that prefer lab grown aren't viewing their pieces as investments to sell later on for profit. They see them as items they wish to wear for a lifetime and feel comfortable doing so.
I don’t ever plan on reselling my lab grown diamonds. If I want to invest, I’ll invest in Index Funds
@@billiephillips5895 people who bought their lab grown diamonds few years ago when they were still expensive might feel differently. Lots of people who can afford natural diamonds goes for lab grown thinking it’s a good thing for the planet. But it’s simply not true
@@AjaDang traditionally gold and gemstone jewelry are something that hold value and can be passed on the next generation. Lab grown diamond won’t hold value. Buy them because they are pretty and cheap, but not because they are “ethical”, it’s simply not the case. The brand you’re speaking about, says that their diamonds are not mined, it’s a lie because the elements with what they are making those diamonds are being mined somewhere. Not to speak about the crazy amounts of energy and machines they need to recreate what happened billons of years ago for natural diamonds.
If you want to be more ethical buy jewelry, try to look for ethically mined gold or recycled gold. I’m a gemologist and gemcutter, there is so much greenwashing going around the gemstone and jewelry industry right now. The marketing of the brand you’re speaking about is problematic
